Nice quiet place. We probably made most of the noise while we watched the Bears game. It's a nice simple, quint little place. The staff is friendly. They didn't have the game on and we asked if they could put it on. They may not know how. It was young staff. They let one of us try to find it. Couldn't find it. But it was nice of them to let us try. We were too busy chit chatting that I forgot to take pics of the food. It was good and flavorful. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. 5 of us ordered Pho of different varieties. Then others ordered chicken with rice.

We visited Phoday in Schaumburg recently and ordered the Barbecue Pork Banh Mi, Banh Xeo, Pho, a Rice Plate, and a Noodle Bowl. The Banh Mi and Pho arrived quickly, followed shortly by the Banh Xeo. Traditionally, Banh Xeo is eaten as a lettuce wrap. They provided a small basket of lettuce along with some mint and basil, but the pieces were just too small to properly wrap the Banh Xeo. When we asked for more lettuce, it still wasn't enough to make proper wraps, which was disappointing. Our son's Rice Plate arrived much later, by which time the rest of us had already finished our meals. Waiting for him to eat while everyone else was done made the experience awkward--no one enjoys being watched while they eat. About halfway through the meal, we noticed that two side items normally served with the Rice Plate were missing. When we brought it up, the server explained he was unaware they had run out. The kitchen compensated by adding an extra grilled pork chop. When I asked why we weren't informed of the shortage, the server admitted that neither he nor the kitchen had communicated this to us. Simply adding another pork chop without discussion felt like an inadequate solution. Communication and customer service are crucial in the restaurant industry, and this experience fell short. Food timing also contributed to the disappointment--appetizers like the Banh Xeo should come out before main entrees, not at the same time. Additionally, having our son's entree arrive last while the rest of us had finished further highlighted poor coordination. Because of these service and timing issues, it's difficult for us to give a high rating. We appreciate the food itself, but service is a major part of the dining experience, and unfortunately, Phoday didn't deliver in that area. I'm not sure we'll be back.

Update: Ordered banh xeo, beef pho, pork chop plate, grilled chicken noodle bowl, and banh mi. Pork chop plate came out way later so everyone had almost finished eating and our son got his food last. It was missing two components of the entree and no one said anything until we pointed it out later. Kitchen should've communicated with the server so he could've told us and given us an option to change our order. Ordered banh xeo which is an app and 4 people were at our table with enough lettuce for 1 or 2 people. Had mostly bean sprouts today. Chicken noodle plate only came with lettuce and cucumbers, most places serve it with an eggroll, carrots, and radishes. The noodles were tough and undercooked and cold. Pho here is good, the sandwich was also good but the other items we had are hit or miss. This place costs more than other Vietnamese spots in the area and you'd expect to get more out the food and service but isn't the case lately. Service is a bit slow and staff doesn't really pay attention unless you really flag them down. Had to ask twice for to clear the finished dishes to make room for other food coming. You can get more attentive service, extra touches on the food for a lower price at the other spots. It'll be hard to want to come back here again.

This is by far my favorite pho place in the area. While it's certainly not the cheapest, the foods that we typically order has stayed consistently delicious across the 20+ times we've been here, including our most recent visit! My go-to items are the Bun Bo Hue (I love spicy) with the thin noodles and the Pork and/or Beef Bahn Mi. I usually pair this with an avocado smoothie, which while different than many other avocado smoothies I've had elsewhere (it's much creamier), is still tasty and really rounds out the meal for me. My wife enjoys getting their Banh Khot (savory mini pancakes). The lettuce wrap + banh khot + dipping sauce makes for a satisfying appetizer (or meal if you're less hungry). Portion sizes for everything is decently big and if you like having leftovers, I often find that ordering an extra Bahn Mi is a great choice for lunch the next day.

Had a fantastic lunch here! We ordered pho, garlic wings, a Vietnamese pancake, a bowl, a bánh mì sandwich, and spring rolls--everything came out quickly and tasted incredibly fresh. The flavors were authentic and satisfying across the board. The server was extremely nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. This is truly good, authentic Vietnamese food, and we'll definitely be coming back regularly. Highly recommend!

We got this delivered, so I can't speak towards the aesthetic or ambiance. But our food was delivered pretty promptly and right within the timeframe they gave. Nothing leaked, which is impressive considering what we got. It was all very thoughtfully packed. I don't know what everyone else is getting, but wowwee wow! I am so super pleased. The flavors are incredible! I was really surprised. What we got: Bun (noodle salad) - THIS! Order this, please. The lemongrass pork is probably my favorite of I've found in this area so far. Sometimes you can hardly taste the lemongrass, but this--really punches through! It's smoky and got a great char flavor (but it's not burnt! It's not crisped to ash); the pork was so tender and flavorful. I'm still thinking about it! I wish there was more lettuce and cilantro, but they give a generous amount of mint, which honestly is just so good and makes this dish really refreshing. Bahn mi (small) - The bread is the right kind here. It was soft and you could probably toast it a little more if you like the outside to be more crispy, but it wasn't like a thick, dense bread. It was pretty good for this area. The pork is slightly different than the noodle salad--I think maybe there's a peanut sauce?? Not entirely sure, but it was tasty in a unique way I haven't had before. Totally kid approved! Spicy pho (don't know the name but it's usually something like bun bo hue) - My husband ordered this and was kind of underwhelmed by it. But then he realized there was a separate sauce container with magic oil seasoning, and he said that was the missing taste. It was where all the flavor came from! He liked it but liked my noodle salad more. Crepe/pancake - There aren't many places that offer this. It's so good. You make it into a little lettuce wrap, and it's just fresh and delicious. The batter might have some coconut milk to it, and it's filled with some meat and shrimp and bean sprouts inside. The effect is this really nice pairing of soft and tender and crispy textures. Just wish the shrimp was snappier instead of like mushy. But still so good and worth getting because of its unavailability elsewhere. Also, they have some halal dishes! I'm not sure how rare that is, but I thought that was pretty cool and provides more options.

Came here for dinner as we were in the area and wanted pho on a chillier night. First thing I noticed was that the rerestaurant looked really clean and loved seeing the videos of Vietnam's landscapes on the TVs. The service was fast and attentive and the food came out very fast. We got spring rolls to begin and they were wrapped well and everything tasted super fresh. What I loved the most was the peanut sauce that also had what looked like fried onions and pickled carrot and radish. It had a much deeper umami flavor with a slight tartness from the pickled veggies. Both of our phos came out super fast and the bowls had a lot of meat in them. They definitely do not skimp on the meat and noodles! The broth tastes great, however it had a slight sweetness to it that by the end was a bit too sweet. That would be my one and only complaint. Otherwise everything tasted great!

Great , fresh food. i didnt know what Pho was but the owner comes by and shows you how to add spice and how to eat the soup. The sandwiches are a shareable size and loaded with delicious meats and veggies. the sandwiches are excellent and not too large. the varieties of soup are great. i tried all the meats and they atr all good. The broth is chicken or beef and both taste like miso to me. Lots of extras come with so you can customize the soup to your liking. Every time we go the restaurant is busier, the word must be getting around on how great this place is. read more

B B B B B Bangin' pho! I'm usually a little pho weasel, nitpicking each and every bowl, bite, and noodle, but boy oh boy if this place didn't exceed my expectations. Crazy flavorful broth that coated my mouth like a Jackson Pollock painting. Noodles so supple they could make a Pantene commercial blush. Meat so tasty you leave it between your teeth for a late night snack. I would happily bathe in a bowl of this soup if given the chance, and I think you would too. read more

A bad day at Phoday!! We went to Phoday at about 1;30 in the afternoon and despite the later dining hour, about 20 patrons were inside. We were promptly seated but after that there was nothing prompt about the next step. After about 10 minutes, as we were about the depart, the server arrived and "delt" us the menus. The server seemed to be focused(read occupied) with a table of 6+ patrons to the exclusion of the rest of the restaurant. Actually it seemed that we and the diners were intruding on her preplanned afternoon. (Maury-YOU are the father?) We ordered some staples--egg roll and spring roll together with beef broth and flank. Shortly the rolls arrived and the egg roll has a strange aftertaste and the spring roll seemed to be assembled with boxing gloves. The spring roll was very loosely packed and fell apart after the first bite. This of course made dipping into the peanut sauce a futile effort. The beef broth was tepid in temperature and the beef was flavorless. We forced ourselves through the rolls and gave up half was through the broth and flank. I'm reminded of he retail phrase-- "business goes where it is wanted and stays where it is appreciated" We felt neither.... read more

First time having Pho..but went with my daughter who has eaten it before. We both agreed...THIS PLACE SERVES DELICIOUS FOOD! Everything was very fresh and large servings. We had spring rolls, shrimp pho and chicken pho. Very clean establishment. It was packed due to the holidays...but they seem to always have a good daily crowd. Cute neighborhood spot. I like the staff really nice. Although I haven't tried all dishes. I think the Pho beef broth is a little fatty and on the sweet side. Egg rolls are good spring rolls good and the dry noodles vermicelli with pork tenderloin good a little salty. Hopefully the small plastic cups will change to a bigger one. I definitely recommend this place. Portions are better at PhoDay than PhoHa. Bye Bye Pho Ha, hello PhoDay. read more

This is our new fave Vietnamese restaurant. The food and service are top notch! Their M5 vermicelli bowl is ridiculously good. I don't like mint in my savory food; so I asked for no mint to the waitress. The owner came out to make sure he knew how to prepare my dish. He also showed me what it was that was in the dish. It's called Lá Tía Tô or Vietnamese Perilla. This herb is really good for you, but unfortunately it overpowers the rest of the flavors for me. He was so kind and introduced himself and said that was no problem. Then showed me how to pronounce it so I knew how to ask for my dish next time we were in. He checked on us a couple more times while we were there. Such nice people. Very clean environment. Fresh, light food that you can tell was cooked to perfection and with great care. Their bánh mì is so good too! Oh... and their egg rolls. Yum! I literally crave this place! Keep it up, Pho Day! You've got a great thing going! read more

Drove by here last week when meeting someone at a different place. Thought to myself , let me check Yelp for the reviews , and as usual , Yelp is right on the money. This place is a solid 4.5 stars . I had the Pho Day( pho dac biet) and my wife had pho with tendon. Flavorful pho yet not loaded with sodium . Helpful & friendly waitstaff , and very clean and pleasantly inviting dining area. We will be back and this place is worth your time if you are hungering for quality Vietnamese food in the northwest suburbs read more

Vietnamese is my favorite type of food, having visited Vietnam multiple times, my expectations are high - my first visit to Phoday did not disappoint! Great food and presentation with a laid back ambiance. What made the experience a 5 star is the welcoming, friendly and attentive staff along with excellent choices and tastes. Great food and wonderful service. We've been there multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. Our order typically includes the cha gio, spring roll and different pho each time. The Bún Thịt nướng has more pork than noodles and is incredibly delicious. Clean restaurant and nice decor. We typically order take out and they're busy but we never have to wait long for our order. My family, and I have eaten in twice, and ordered to go several times. The people are top notch. Alan ((the assistant manager)), and Lomay were incredibly kind, funny, helpful, and all around amazing people. THE FOOD!!!! AWESOME!!! Phenomenal!!! Bahn mi that are delicious, and a variety of phó that will satisfy any appetite. I can't say enough about this restaurant. I hope it becomes a staple in Schaumburg as time goes on. read more

New Vietnamese restaurant just opened in Nov. Their special Pho had generous portions of different kind of beef perfectly cooked and very tender on top. Broth was excellent as well. The food here seemed to me to be a step above the usual. I had the Pho and my husband had beef with egg noodles. The broth of the pho was very flavorful. My husbands beef with noodles was even better than the Pho. The quality of the beef was not great but he got a lot of fresh vegis that were cooked perfectly, and the sauce and noodles were delicious. Even though this restaurant appears to major in Pho, I think the non-Pho dishes may be the stars. As we paid, one of the owners kindly greeted us and gave us recommendations for next time. She suggested a lot of the chicken dishes, so we're looking forward to trying those in the future. read more

I highly recommend this restaurant because of very welcoming , friendly Chef , owner , staff and their very delicious foods. 1st time at resto, we had such a great time celebrating my sister's birthday. At end of our lunch time, my other sister placed huge catering orders for her daughters graduation. During sisters daughters graduation, everyone loved the delicous foods and asked where they were ordered. During Easter Sun, I ordered our Easter Sun catering food n everyone again loved it and asked where they were ordered. We had been coming back to resto whether dining in, ordering take out or catering. I had been sharing and recommending this restaurant ever since I found this place. As a pho enthusiast, this is by far the BEST pho I've had my whole life. We have explored pho restaurants throughout the Chicago suburbs and I can honestly say this restaurant cannot be beat. Service was quick and attentive, restrooms were nice and clean. The Banh Mi, oh my god so so good! I legit downloaded Yelp, as I'm sitting here, writing a review because it is so good. Terrible service and the food is just ok. However, what I ordered was all fat and grizzle in the dish. Told who we think might have been the manager and he was rude. He was going to offer a new fresh dish after we were done to go, heading out for vacation and we told him that would not work. Then he offered 10% off for a dish that I had nothing but fat and grizzle in. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Bad customer service. There are many other Vietnamese places to go to than to deal with a person who really could care less about liking their food. read more

If you have never had Pho - this is definitely the place to go. Delicious food - fast and friendly service - great open atmosphere for dining and very reasonable pricing. It was our first time visiting this restaurant , but I know for certain we will be returning to try many more of their dishes. The Chef came to our table shortly after we received our food to greet us, explain the seasonings and fresh ingredients provided that we could add to our bowls. It was a wonderfully tasty experience and I highly recommend. read more

It was hard to hear the person giving directions from above, so everyone kind of just started moving at once. The seating is also very tight, and if you're sitting next to someone who needs a little extra space, it can be challenging. The seats sit very low to the ground, so anyone who is pregnant or has bad knees may struggle getting in and out comfortably. The food was okay, but it came out so slowly that it was hard to eat everything while it was still hot. The chicken, corn, and potato were the best parts of the meal. The soup tasted like it came from a can, and the garlic bread reminded me of the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store and heat up at home. Overall, we had an absolute blast and would definitely go back. The show, the horses, and being so close to the action made it a memorable experience. Just go in knowing it's more about the entertainment than the food, and you'll have a great time. I didn't post too many photos because I didn't want to spoil it for anyone.

I had the side salad with Italian dressing. The server indicated all dressings were GF. He said everything would be safe for me. My food was delicious. My friend had the GF chicken Alfredo. She said the pasta was really good. They have a few GF options for dessert - we opted for the GF chocolate cake. The manager also came by a few times to check in on us and gave us a $25 voucher for next time. Would highly recommend this place.

I wasn't sure what to expect since I'm not usually a big dumpling fan, but everything I've tried has been fantastic. My favorites are the shrimp noodles, the kimchi pork dumplings, and the black truffle soup dumplings. The service is top-notch--the staff is always attentive, welcoming, and friendly. One thing to keep in mind is that it gets pretty busy, so I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait. Trust me, it's worth it. I also recently noticed they've added chocolate dumplings to the menu, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit to give them a try!

I visited Phoday for lunch on a Wednesday and found it to be fairly busy, yet the noise level was low. The space was clean, with pleasant music playing in the background. The service was quick and friendly, making for an enjoyable dining experience. Phoday offers a wide menu, including Halal meat options for pho. I ordered the #6 with beef broth and steak in a small size, which was more than enough for lunch. It was a delicious, hearty bowl of beef pho, and the pricing was reasonable.
