It's been a long times since my last review so I thought it would give a little update. We have probably been here... oh, I don't know, several dozen times in the last 12 years. Still the same cute restaurant with plenty of tabes. Still the same great service - food always served in a timely manner and always hot. Most importantly, food is still delicious. We have found many new favorites during the past 12 years... mine is the Tiger Cry. Order it, you will fall in love like it did. I am sure we will continue to make this our go to Pho restaurant for many more years.

I can't remember when I've enjoyed such healthy, flavorful, clean tasting pho broth. May I say yesterday morning I woke up feeling extremely tired and unwell. September through November is my allergy season and a kind woman at my local coffee shop suggested I have chicken broth so I chose this restaurant based on the high ratings. This particular pho restaurant serves some of the best and most generously portioned pho I've ever tried in my many years here in the Chicagoland area. My mother's best friend was from Burma so trust me when I say this is extremely tasty pho. As a child I dined at many Asian restaurants and attended many parties where pho was served as a main course so I know what I'm talking about. They have wonderful combination platters here so you can upgrade any large bowl of the pho of your choice with a thai iced tea beverage and two yummy pieces of fried crab Rangoon for just 6ish dollars and or come here for a lunchtime deal or Bahn mi sandwich combination. I enjoyed the extremely flavorful broth and my server brought me a chilli paste when I requested extra spicy broth so I could temper the spicy level to my liking. The service here was quick, polite attentive and I never had to wait too long for food or beverages to come to my table. Atmosphere here is casual and low key vibes not fancy. Food here at least my pho was outstanding. If you want an authentic pho meal with traditional broth, homemade noodles and the very best cuts of meats then I encourage you to come here!

First time here, and first impression was that the place was clean and well maintained. As a native Vietnamese speaker I immediately noticed that the staff did not speak Vietnamese, but rather Chinese. I was looking forward to trying their Bun Rieu, our waiter apologized and stated they were all out since a large party of 14 came in earlier and ordered all the Bun Rieu. So I ended up ordering the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, my husband ordered the large Pho Tai, and we also got crab rangoons, salt and pepper tofu, and chicken satay. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food tasted pretty authentic. The nuoc mam could use a little more lime juice though. But portions was were a good size, and I look forward to trying their Bun Rieu next time.

Premium Pho was great value and tasty!

The premium pho was worth it for the value and was tasty. They know how to make pho! Other places have charged more with less noodles and meat in their pho and watered down, not here! Service was fantastic and very attentive to your needs! A lot of tradition Vietnamese dishes that will open your taste buds! Their dishes pack value, taste, and variety! The room has enough space for your whole family and relatives to eat together. I am bringing my family and relatives here often!

Thai iced tea was sooooo good!!! Reasonable pricing to their menu items and lots to choose from. The ambience is really nice too. The people working there are very welcoming and nice enough to answer our questions on what specific things are called! I would come again.

Tasty Vietnamese and pan-Asian cuisine. The pho broth is flavorful and the accompaniments are fresh and quality, the meat is tender and noodles are toothsome. Highly recommend the rice platters like the Premium Rice Plate, the banh mi is heavenly. Don't forget some of the appetizers like a spring roll.

Good pho, friendly service and easy on the $$. Everything was fresh and quickly served. We ordered the chicken pho, beef pho and pad Thai. Appetizers were spring rolls and egg rolls... you get 1 free egg roll with Yelp checkin. Our server Ming was extremely sweet and pleasant!

We had boorsok for our appetizer, fried dough bites that reminded me of funnel cake without sugar, and there were a lot! I had the strawberry mojito drink, and it was fantastic, really tasting of fresh fruit with many mint leaves inside. The khachapuri was extraordinary. They do imeruli style, round and similar to a pizza, the crust beautifully blistered and the cheese thick with a wonderful pull. One of my friends hadn't had khachapuri before and is now a convert. We also had boso lagman, with hand-pulled noodles and beef, and big manty dumplings with flavorful meatballs inside. I requested we get a slice of honey cake, too, and that was a perfect finish to the meal. Sweet but not overkill, and really tasted like honey, graham crackers, and cream. But points of caution that they are fried and have an almost sweet and sour sauce on top which for me was a little heavy. Overall quick and efficient service for a sit down lunch during the work week. The inside is very clean and inviting, with cherry blossoms as a center point of deco, hardwood floors, plenty of booths..and of course a serving robot. The staff is super attentive. As for the pho, I tend to get the house special or rare beef. The meat, tendon, meetballs, tripe are fresh. Their broth is a little different from traditional but is definitely the star, I like it! Their soup spoons are basically ladles, and rightfully so. We love their Thai iced tea and every one of their "punches". They do have banh mi, lemongrass chicken , grilled pork chop, and more. I've never had the courage to try their sushi tacos, someone let me know what those are like. There is an area of opportunity. You charge for chili oil? Cmon dude. Also, three bowls of pho, three drinks and gratuity at around $87? Love the comfort pho gives me but that pricepoint makes me step out of my comfort zone because there are a ton of options within a 5 mile radius of here. Hey, but if you're a true pho lover, you'll get your fix here.

The search continues…read more I still have not found "the one" I can rely on in the Chicagoland area. I say "Chicagoland" loosely, since it's only been 10 months since I've moved into the area, and I'm mainly trying to nail down a spot that I can rely on in northwest suburbs area. The thing is, there are plenty of decent Vietnamese restaurants. Maybe some above average. But I'm finding out that it's very difficult to find one that can give you the "wholeness," per se. Especially once you've had one and set the bar there. Mine happens to have come from an old, grumpy couple who have since retired and no longer serving their amazing home-style cooking. As for Pho Lover, my family ordered one pho and one pork chop. I opted to try the advertised "combo," which in retrospect I should have skipped. It's just a bowl of pho, a couple eggrolls and a pop for a couple bucks less. Considering I normally would not have ordered the eggrolls or a pop, I immediately regretted it. The option for pho was either the House Special pho or the rare steak pho. I asked to see if I can substitute rare steak with brisket only and they said it was fine. Only, I ended up with a rare steak version anyway. They apologized and I decided not to make a fuss out of it, even though I don't normally like the way rare steak become tough to chew once it's fully cooked in broth. It was no exception this time. Noodles were cooked fine. Perfectly average. Broth was fine. Perfectly average. All the usual toppings were on the skimpy side, which I didn't like. I asked for some extra onion and cilantro, but I never ended up getting them. The porkchop dish was very underwhelming. Meat still had strong boar taint, which to some is a feature, not a bug. Not for my family. Even besides the odor, everything was once again, perfectly average. I can't say I'll go back. Life is too short for average meals.

Also, the space between tables was so tight that every time a person from the next table over would get up, we would get shoved in our seat. I loved that there were so many soup bases to choose from. I was not happy with some of the staff. Particularly staff that were refilling the buffet of vegetables and ingredients. There was one in particular that would literally push her way to the trays without saying excuse me or anything. She threw metal tongs across the trays. Multiple times, she would physically push people out of the way and barreling her way in between people in line.
