I tasted the broth beforehand. This is the House Special Pho.

I feel this place deserves an updated review. May have also changed owners from 10 yrs ago when I reviewed, not sure. But today I took my girls there and it was good. It was good 10 yrs ago too, but this one probably checks the vibe and ambiance. They did some updating and opened up the space. Pho is good. My girls approve and kids are brutal when it comes to honesty. Don't come for me about how I dress my pho lol I like my pho spicy but I can say the broth was good. I taste pho broth beforehand! And they give you a generous amount of meat. Their boba game also improved. The strawberry one is good.

Amazing food!!!!!!! The service was good too, lovely staff. I would come here again, they also have to go boxes if you get full and want to eat the rest later!! The portions are also a good amount.

    Extensive Menu as of 07/2024.

We were passing through town and we're craving pho. Was a bit skeptical at first because of the poor yelp reviews. But were quickly proven wrong because you really loved their service and the food was really flavorful. Price points were also very reasonable. They also have such an extensive menu ranging from Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food. We also ordered a couple drinks such as their mango smoothie and their Hokkaido milk tea with Boba. Please note that you order at the counter first and then they will give you your food at your table. Will definitely be back when we are in Madera.

I just don't recommend calling in your order specially during lunch hour rush otherwise the food is amazing

I have been going here for YEARS!!! The family that owns the restaurant is amazingly sweet. We are fully vegetarian, and they always accommodate our needs.

Rice was still raw tasting and dried out. You can only put so much soy sauce

We spent over $50 worth of food and this is what we received. Never will I order again and the only reason we went there was for the spring rolls And the guys excuse was that it sat for 15 extra minutes

Authentic Pho, small kind of self service place but everything we've had is good, and I am pretty picky.

However, it is definitely worth it! For a while now I have been wanting to try this place and finally for around to it. The staff was great very kind and friendly as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was amazing, she was always checking up on us, making sure we had everything we needed it and that we were comfortable. I ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit with Tater tots and for my drink I ordered the OG Lemonade. Starting with the sandwich, the chicken was nice and juicy, very crunchy as well. The flavor of the chicken was very good as well. The buscuit added that nice hint of sweetness that just tied the whole thing together. The tater tots were definitely crunchy, which I loved. They give you a very well serving of tater tots. I did not end up finishing mine, but they had great taste and texture. The lemonade was very refreshing, and it just hit that spot so well. It was appealing to the eye and tasted like freshly squeezed lemonade. Overall experience was 10/10, I would come back. The place gives off vintage coffee shop vibes even though it is not a coffee shop. Seating is definitely very limited inside. However, they do have outdoor tables with umbrellas which is a nice touch. Price-wise I would say it is a bit pricier compared to other similar restaurants I have visited. The total came out to $45 for two plates of the chicken biscuit and two lemonades.

But while the food was delicious as usual, everything else was surprisingly mediocre. Despite not being busy when we arrived, we had to wait over an hour for our food and watched while other couples received theirs and ate before us, despite coming in 15-20 minutes later than us. And even though it all tasted great, my food was cold, as if it had been sitting for a while. We were told a couple of large to-go orders came in that disrupted the timing of our food, but in reality, it seems like our order got lost in the mix. It finally came 70 minutes after we arrived, and I was surprised that when my partner asked for a refill of their tea (which they naturally finished well before our food came), they charged them for a second drink and didn't even offer to comp the refill for the long delay. I don't expect freebies when I go out, but it just seemed like we were more of an inconvenience to them than anything. It's unfortunate because their food is always great and I want to see them continue to succeed, especially during this difficult time with road construction outside. But this was a pretty frustrating experience, and will unfortunately make me hesitant to dine-in again in the near future.

Back then, we would order the Fettuccine Alfredo and the New York Style Cheesecake and I remember really liking it. I visited here present day and loved how absolutely nothing changed about the place. Our server, Gabriela was very nice and friendly and was attentive to all our needs. The gift shop still remains and the ambiance transports you back in time. I am very glad nothing has changed about this place. I decided to try something different and ordered the Mushroom Swiss sandwich with a side of pea soup. My husband ordered the Andersen's Chicken Sandwich with french fries on the side. There used to be five different pea soup Andersen's, now this is the last one. The original, near Solvang, had to close because of the condition of the building, just shy of its hundredth birthday. When it is redeveloped, they hope to put a version of the restaurant back in. The place is a lot of fun. They have souvenirs, chatchkis, all kinds of different food items... you can buy the dried peas with a recipe card, or they also sell their soup in a can. . The canned soup tastes just like the restaurant. They have the original, but they also have a canned soup with bacon. The bacon is pulverized, so there are no chunks of it in the soup, but you can definitely taste it. It plays off of the pea soup so well. The soup they sell in the restaurant is made fresh, not canned, . They have a bar, dining room, and a coffee shop. Most people eat in the coffee shop. The coffee shop has a big menu, but of course the star is the pea soup. You can get the "travelers special", which is all you can eat pea soup, with all the fixins, and your choice of beverage, including a milkshake if you want one. The soup they serve in the restaurant, is both vegetarian and vegan, but you can't tell. It is amazingly rich, and creamy. The prices are reasonable and when you check out of the restaurant, they also have cookies, pastries, and even some candies. A nice upsell for dessert. Both the chocolate chip, and the white chocolate macadamia cookies are my favorite.... I'll be back. Thanks.

We ended up getting a maple bacon cronut, regular glazed cronut, blueberry apple fritter, apple-stuffed bear claw, cinnamon roll, chocolate old-fashioned, and a chocolate bar. Normally, donuts are donuts unless you're going to a truly standout place, but something about these donuts genuinely made me want to leave a review afterward. The cronuts were excellent, especially the maple bacon version. Even later into the morning, they still seemed to have a pretty good selection available, which was nice to see. But honestly, the biggest standout by far was the chocolate bar. I'm not exaggerating when I say this may have been the best chocolate bar donut I've ever had. What's even more impressive is that we ordered through a food delivery app, so this wasn't fresh out of the display case. It had gone through delivery and sat for a bit before we ate it, and it was still unbelievably soft and pillowy. The chocolate itself also stood out. It tasted richer and more real than the typical frosting you get at most donut shops. Oddly enough, it even tasted different from the chocolate on the chocolate old-fashioned. I can't fully explain it, but it just tasted higher quality and more flavorful. Everything we ordered was good, but that chocolate bar absolutely stole the show. One thing I noticed is that they probably offer even more items in-store than what's listed on the delivery apps, likely because inventory rotates throughout the morning. I was hoping to find a chocolate French cruller on the app, but no luck this time. Overall, if you're looking for really solid donuts in Fresno, especially if you want delivery, Donut Fantasy is absolutely worth trying. And seriously, don't sleep on the chocolate bar.
