Food: I'm from San Jose, so my pho standards are emotionally high. After moving out here, I finally gave this Milpitas spot a shot--and wow... this pho smacked me right back to childhood. I ordered my usual pho tai, large bowl, plus extra noodles because I believe in abundance. The noodles were fresh fresh--I can tell because when I spread them apart, they don't clump together like they've been napping in the pot all day. These noodles were awake, alert, and being stirred. Respect. The broth? Dangerous. Comforting. Spiritual. I finished the entire bowl like I was personally challenged by the chef. Cold weather + this broth = therapy. Service: I called ahead because I'm polite and didn't want to be that person showing up an hour before closing. They were super kind and said it was totally fine. You order and pay up front, which I loved--sat down and 10 minutes later my pho showed up like it knew I was hungry. Pro tip: speak up when ordering drinks--they forgot my soda, but honestly... the pho was so good I forgot I even wanted one. Ambiance: Plenty of seating, nicely spaced, and the place is CLEAN clean. The second someone leaves, the table is wiped down like it owes them money. Cleanliness is next to godliness, and this place is clearly blessed. Final Thoughts: I do wish they stayed open past 9, but that's my only complaint. Honestly, I'm kind of glad it's not as packed as it should be--more room for me to sit, sip, and slurp in peace. Food hits every time. Especially the rare steak pho , that is my go to order and every time I feel like they make it better! The service is amazing they have kind workers and they are also very patient. Wait time doesn't take that long and even if it does wait long it is worth the 10-15 minutes. I feel this place deserves an updated review. May have also changed owners from 10 yrs ago when I reviewed, not sure. But today I took my girls there and it was good. It was good 10 yrs ago too, but this one probably checks the vibe and ambiance. They did some updating and opened up the space. Pho is good. My girls approve and kids are brutal when it comes to honesty. Don't come for me about how I dress my pho lol I like my pho spicy but I can say the broth was good. I taste pho broth beforehand! We ordered the special pho & chicken pho, along with a side of pork wontons. The portions were a decent size but flavor wise I think it was a miss unfortunately. The broth itself was okay but had a strong ginger taste, to the point where AFTER I seasoned your broth it still left a strong ginger taste & that's all you tasted. I was really excited being that this was the only pho shop in Madera and bringing in a different variety to the city. But this was a no for me, it would be better to do it yourself at home or drive into Fresno for it. read more

I like hot n spicy soups in the winter... This place, for one is dirty. The manager or owner is arguing with the cashier in front of everyone. A server, an older woman comes out of the kitchen and on her way over to the table she's serving, she's eating something from her hands. Really? I was skeptical to try this place because of the mix reviews but I finally decided to try it on doordash and I'm glad I did. I ordered the beef stew noodle soup and it was delicious! We were passing through town and we're craving pho. Was a bit skeptical at first because of the poor yelp reviews. But were quickly proven wrong because you really loved their service and the food was really flavorful. Price points were also very reasonable. They also have such an extensive menu ranging from Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food. We also ordered a couple drinks such as their mango smoothie and their Hokkaido milk tea with Boba. I'm really disappointed with my recent experience here. I called in to place a simple drink order, something I've done before without any issues. This time, the employee told me they couldn't take my order because it wasn't "large enough" and claimed they've had problems with no-shows in the past. I even offered to pay over the phone, but she refused, saying they don't accept phone payments -- even though there's a sign on the door clearly stating that orders after 8pm must be paid over the phone. So obviously, they can take payment that way. What bothered me most was that when I asked for a manager, I could literally hear her coaching another employee in the background on what to tell me, instructing them to say no to phone orders. When I pointed this out, she denied it and still refused to take my order. I ended up going in person anyway, but not only did she tell me to "just order online" (which isn't even possible for the Vietnamese Iced Coffee I wanted), the drink she finally made for me wasn't prepared correctly. On top of that, every time I've come in recently, it takes 15-20 minutes just to get one drink -- and that's when the restaurant is practically empty. I was so unimpressed by this place. It looked sad and unkempt. I think it's mostly a boba spot, so trying to add food seems like maybe an afterthought? We would have tried several items and two bobas, but they would not let us order off of the kids meal menu. The cashier was rude and said "under 12! that's the law!" when we asked about the kids menu. Usually, if a place does't have a senior menu, we order from the kids menu. We are seniors and don't eat much and we had a large group of seven. We did not want to share soup for sanitary reasons. So, we did not stay. There is no table service either. Chicken & Rice Stir Fry is my fav and so are the egg rolls, so crispy and yummy. I've tried their chicken chow mein, shrimp and chicken fried rice, and house special fried rice. I tried to have their chicken Pho but I had an incident with it and handled it the wrong way which made it fall onto my leg and burn me. Other than this, I've personally never had a problem with satisfaction of the dishes. They are always flavorful and you definitely get what you pay for. I see that the prices are increasing. Prices are increasing at all food places. Thier menu does not even include their updated prices plus there is a 2.5% convenience fee! Their service has not improved. My water was never refilled or was i checked to see if I needed anything else. Tables were dirty while workers/owner was sitting down. This was after the lunch hour rush. So I think the food is eatable but not super delicious. My wife and I came with an open mind and actually enjoyed that there's lots of room inside and the boba teas are very good but expensive . She ordered a #26 Beef Pho "3 out of a 5" and I ordered #55 Orange Chicken with Chow Mein and it was a "2.5 out of 5". This is the first time I have written a poor review. This place has been my go-to place for Asian food in Madera since they opened. Sadly, I am not enjoying their food as much anymore. But it's been decent enough so I've kept going despite the decline in food taste. Today I ordered egg rolls, sweet n sour chicken with rice. Both entrees were super salty which is saying a lot for me because I am a salt eater. My daughter usually orders the Pho and she has no complaints with it. Today's visit was my last. The lobby which is pick up only is filthy. It's not that it's being used as storage that's the problem. It's just filthy. If you look at the equipment and supplies that are there you will see what I mean. The pics below are showing three tubs with cooked ribs in each of them. The buckets are filthy and none of the lids are closed and there were a couple of flies around them. The second tub has the legs of the chairs leaning on them. No telling how long they were sitting out there unfridgerated. My thought is that if this is the way they keep the dining area imagine how they take care of the food in the back. There was a clump of salt in my boba!?? Makes me feel like they are unsanitary in their kitchen!
