I am not sure why the 1 star reviewer would complain about getting a $189 battery for his daughter that will outlast a bottom-of-the-line battery for just a bit more; that's an excellent price, plus it was installed and your daughter was on her way safely, right? That's priceless, IMHO. :) Anywho, in my experience these guys are awesome. You'll get top-notch service, even if they don't sell you a battery. They may just jump your existing battery or clean/reconnect it, whatever is needed. The prices are EXTREMELY competitive, and they have all kinds of batteries on board already so you're not going to be waiting in line at your dealership, or fumbling around BatteriesPlus for the right kind. Do yourself a favor and become a AAA member so you can rest assured these guys will come replace your battery in the valley any time you need it! read more

We placed a service call around 8:10am on 4/5/2023 to AAA as the car was not able to start. A service tech from Phoenix Battery Service sent by AAA Battery Service arrived around 9:30am. He first started with testing the battery and found the charge was low. The battery needed to be replaced. He turned on the engine before and after the battery replacement. When we used the car on the morning of 4/6/2023, the transmission light was blinking and diagnostic error was shown in the dashboard. The manager, Jonathan Weinberg, was contacted and the tech was sent to check the car in the afternoon of 4/6/2023. They insisted the problem with transmission light and diagnostic error existed prior to the battery replacement. Their statement was contradicted to what we observed, the car functioned and operated normally without any error codes in the dashboard before the battery was replaced. Those problems occurred AFTER the battery replacement. In addition, when the tech checked the car before and after the battery replacement, he did not mention anything regarding the problems. It is strongly suggested they just wanted to cover up the damage caused by them. The car was then sent to the Nissan dealership on the same day (4/6/2023). The repairs cost nearly $1,000. The itemized invoice was sent to Phoenix Battery Service and a claim was filed in AAA. AAA/Phoenix Battery Service refused to take any responsibility for the damage. We are extremely dissatisfied with the services provided, and request AAA to cover the cost for the repair. Furthermore, we received multiple text messages informing us that a survey will be sent to us. However, we never receive this. People should be aware that they are manipulating by cherry picking their reviewers. read more

Been waiting 2 weeks for Phoenix Battery to respond to AAA to provide them the invoice for the battery they installed which was too small for my vehicle. I cant start my vehicle even when charging it which Phoenix Battery told me the smaller battery would not be a problem. read more

Subcontractor for AAA, The price was $20 higher that 2 places I called while waiting for a charge. When Andres arrived he was very personable, and offered a 6 year warranty. I went with them based on the warranty, when it was emailed it was only a full warranty for 3 years and then prorated. This was never disclosed, when I called to complain they wanted to know if I wanted them to come back out and put in my old battery! AAA was just as bad, they would not refund any money. DISHONEST AND DECEPTIVE Last night my girlfriends truck wouldn't start. She has a premier account with AAA. AAA sent out this company to "help her" as she was stranded. "Allen" the (non)service tech showed her a fancy print out and said "your battery is fried your solenoid & the starter are fine" and without asking her permission installed a $188 battery. He acted rudely when she said "I didn't ask for a new battery", did not offer to jumpstart her was just going to leave her there. She had to ask again to get jumpstarted. He had taken the "old battery" and loaded it in his truck and was going to take it i.e. steal it steal a good battery. She drove to the nearest AutoZone where I met her - and the battery technician checked the battery and said "the battery is fully charged there's nothing wrong with your battery." (turns out it's likely the starter) DISHONEST and DECEPTIVE. We will also be reporting this to AAA. How many other people has "Allen" done this to? The owner of the company is responsible for who they hire. On second thought maybe will call the Better Business Bureau also. read more

I have been a AAA member for 18 years. My daughter had battery problems and I told her to call AAA for a jump. She was told battery was dead and she needed a new one. Living in Az my whole life, I concurred and told her that was fine. Here is where i am upset. "Dustin K" the service tech decided to dupe my daughter and put a premium performance battery in her 2014 Jeep Wrangler for a price of $189! That's absurd! There is no reason to put this expensive of a battery in her vehicle. Dustin is a little crook and I've reported a complaint to AAA. I hope AAA will do the right thing and refund me the difference or I will not be renewing my membership. Beware of these battery guys! Look for the Phoenix battery service decal on the van. Its very small because they are a subcontractor for Aaa. The driver was pushy and told me these were the best batteries. He wanted to charge me $170. He showed me the battery and it was made in Korea. I went to Walmart and got the exact same battery for $105 installed with the same warranty. Don't let them fool you. My Walmart batteries last months longer than my neighbors whose was from Phx battery service. read more

Called in needing a battery and was told 2 and 1/2 hours. While not thrilled, I agreed as I was stuck in a parking lot with limited options that might be quicker than that. At the 2 and 1/2 hour mark I received a call that they were very busy and they didn't know when someone would be out. How you can not give an estimate is beyond me. An hour later they call again still with no time estimate. 30 minutes later they call and say it will be at least another hour... finally 5 hours and 3 minutes after I made the request and 2 hours and 33 minutes after the original estimated time, someone finally shows up. The driver apologized profusely and said he tried to get the approval to just give me the battery for free which would have been nice. Not only did that not happen, but I didn't even get a discount. What business screws up that bad and doesn't provide the service for free or at a heavy discount? Needless to say I was and still am furious. Update: changed review from 1 star to 4 stars after I proactively reached out to, and spoke with, the assistant manager Jim Potts and he agreed to a resolution that worked for both is us. read more

Our battery technician Adam Lowe was awesome! When I called today I knew it would be busy because of the storm: the auto-attendant said the technician would arrive within 90 min but Adam showed up much sooner and was already checking the car when I stepped into my carport. I had already been told we may have an alternator issue as well. I asked him please install a new battery and go from there. He got a battery installed fast; the alternator light was still on and Adam explained what he saw as the issue with the alternator. He advised not to drive it, and called the tow truck. The AAA tow truck technician, Vincent Anderson, was great as well...very courteous and careful with my car. When the mechanic shop called after running tests, Adam's diagnosis on the alternator was 100% correct. I'm so glad we didn't try to DIY with the jumper cables! read more

Be aware of purchasing batteries through AAA or this company. I purchased at battery in 8/16. As of this date it is still under warrenty. Company came out (AAA battery assist). Stated my battery was dead (duh) and that they were unable to test it. Told me I had to get it charged (at an auto zone or other car place) and then they would test it. Refused to replace the battery even after I said I would pay for it. I am a healthcare worker and was on call that night and had no other means of transportation. I immediately took it to auto zone who tested it. Test revealed 100% charged with a bad battery which was not surprising to me. The technician was not only disrespectful but kept staring at me in a very intimidating way. I called Battery Assist the next day to talk to a manager. Manager refused to come to the phone, however, Melissa the receptionist was very nice and listened to my story. She was not able to find the record to give me the name of the technician. Ladies beware not only was I treated in a unprofessional way but was forced to buy a battery elsewhere when mine was still under warranty as I did not feel safe purchasing from this company. Date of poor service: 7/30/18 Call made to Melissa: 8/2/18 Canceled my membership with AAA after 40 years of service as this is now the 3rd time I have been left stranded with AAA. read more

Worst AAA sub contractor ever!! Been a AAA member for many many years and called them when I had a dead battery. Phoenix Battery sent a guy to my home to change the battery out. He proceeds to clip the radiator tube and does not bother to inform us. Just plays dumb when I call him out on all the red liquid that is covering my new battery and engine. Granted, I am not familiar with engine stuff so I didn't know what the red stuff was.....He proceeds to sit in my driveway (blocking it) for about 30 minutes as I drive around my neighborhood waiting for him to move so I can pull into my own home. He finally leaves, we drive the car up the street and the entire engine seizes and stops (now my children are in the car and we're stranded in the freeway). Several hours later we get towed to OUR trusted mechanic and they tell us what happened to the radiator. Upon letting Phx Battery know what happened, they demanded that they just try and 'band aid' it back together with a completely unauthorized Toyota part and were pissed at us for not calling THEM to fix it instead of using our own mechanic. After many fights with AAA/Phx Battery and having to get my insurance company involved, AAA finally agreed to pay for the correct replacement fix. Now, we're still in a battle trying to get reimbursed for the battery (that was still under warranty btw). I'm so sick of these shady subcontractors. AAA was always a trusted company to me and this whole (unsafe) situation has left me questioning their loyalty to their members over these contracted companies. Just rec'd my annual renewal in the mail and am questioning their actual worth to me if they don't put the safety of their members first. read more
