Never realized there was a Phoenix Coffee location in Lakewood. This place is super cute, bright, and airy. There are lots of plants and a few small tables. It's not big, but has a nice cozy vibe. Their coffee is always good, as are the pastries. Great place to spend an afternoon getting work done.

New, vibrant location of Phoenix located in Lakewood. The storefront is small and modest, but the inside is bright, inviting, and contains a fair amount of seating for solo or double visitors. A larger couch space with small table is also along the back. You'll find the usual Phoenix cafe drinks, some local pastries and bagels, and like more and more of their locations, some plants from Sixth City Cycles on display. Currently there isn't much merch for sale and only a small selection of whole beans located in the back near the plant shelf, but room to expand in the future. This part of Lakewood isn't as busy as Detroit Ave yet, and you can usually find some free street parking along the side streets. Or just pay for the meters on Madison Ave. Business was pretty slow on a weekday when I was there, but the two staff members were very friendly and also got along nicely with the various vendors and regulars who stopped by. Great Wi-Fi and good positioning of outlets for those who need to work. The baristas are also in charge of music selection - the soundtrack was eclectic but tasteful, ranging from old school hip hop to trance. There's a vinyl player in the back and lots of posters for local performers, so clearly they have an appreciation for good beats. An unmarked door at the end of the barista counter with a piece of masking tape reading "Restroom" will lead to a gender-neutral bathroom. It's spacious and kept clean. Just don't forget to lock the door on your way in!

Eagle Kafe is an authentic Albanian experience in the charming part of Cleveland. While there are…read morequite a few Balkan establishments in the city, none are quite like this cafe. It's the only Albanian cafe in Ohio. I visited after hearing about this cafe from friends. Shortly thereafter it really trended on Instagram. AMBIANCE: The cafe is simple and spacious. There are two dining rooms that can serve various customers - high tables for solo guests, tables for two or large parties. Many guests prefer the patio. The location is on a picturesque street with a lot of trees and nature. It's a relaxing experience. In many ways it's just an average cafe - large windows, exposed brick walls, and coffee aroma. I other ways, it's incredibly authentic. Guests watch Albanian soccer or linger on the patio. The combination of soccer and cafe feels very cool and very Balkan. At the heart of the place is a wall with hand carved Albanian art and well recognized Albanian eagle. It's interesting to gaze at these fragments of culture and appreciate the artistry. FOOD: I was surprised by the very budget-friendly bill. I purchased Turkish coffee and two bureks totaling about $12. I did not feel as though Turkish coffee was very authentic - too many grounds, and too acidic. It also did not have the usual awakening effect that I was going for. Bureks are traditional Balkan pastries with cheese and spinach. I selected two varieties and liked them. They were gold, savory, and just right for a light lunch. It was explained to me that bureks are very popular in Albania. The rest of the menu featured various coffees, wine, and small sweet bites. SERVICE: You can start your experience at this cafe by ordering at the counter, sitting down, and paying at the end. The service was great for a casual cafe. The cafe employee was attentive to my needs, checked on small things like my sugar needs. It was evident that most guests are regulars reconnecting with their culture. I enjoyed the bureks, the hospitality, and the location. I had a lovely little lunch at the cafe. I'd probably stop at some point during the summer to enjoy the patio and other coffee selections.

This one feels a little less cozy, maybe because it's on a busier street and has less seating, but the vibes are still great. Menus are exactly the same. I got a fabulous pistachio and cardamom bevvie, as well as my beloved ham toastie. The service was absolutely amazing and I struck up a great convo with the ladies who assisted me. Six Shooter is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Cleveland for both the coffee (grounds are delicious and reasonably priced) and the good vibes. Really awesome and welcoming neighborhood feel. I love supporting this business.

I decided on the "Olive it a Latte" latte - a graza olive oil infused milk steamed with citrus pistachio simple syrup and poured over an espresso!! Not my favorite ever but it was such a fun flavored latte to try!! - plus the guy who made my latte made it a point to show me the latte art before putting my to go lid on and that made my day! they were so kind!! Plus my friend really enjoyed the "Collinwood" espresso blend I got her - so all in all we were both happy...and what else can you ask for? Ill have to make my way back over here for another fun latte flavor!

There is also the main area (center part where you order) that has tables and chairs which is situated when you first walk in and then there is a back area towards the left that can be used as well. So, there are 2 back sections. DRINKS -- They sell matcha, tea, and coffee. I ordered a cup of Storehouse black tea with honey ($4 price, I think). I think the employee added too much honey in my tea because my stomach started hurting a little so I couldn't finish it but that's okay. I later got a mug of warm water which helped soothe my stomach. The cup of tea though is quite expensive but I like to support local businesses (Storehouse Tea is a Cleveland business). FOOD -- I also ordered a Rosemary bagel ($4) with a side of butter (.50 cents). The Rosemary bagel was delicious which isn't surprising because the owners make their own bagels. If you work remote then this coffee shop is for you as they have free wifi and plenty of tables to use. They have lots of chairs and tables laid out in three different sections. The music isn't as loud like most coffee shops in the area so I appreciated that. The back area towards the right only has 2 outlets available but thankfully, I got one to use. If you come with a laptop, make sure your battery is charged or find another seat where there is an outlet. TIP -- They sell packaged coffee to go, some packaged biscuit mix, and cute notebooks.

The menu has some standout breakfast options you don't see often around here, like loaded grits (a rare Southern find in this area).
