I know what I asked of him was very difficult and last minute and he came through with flying colors. Long story short, I had to book 2 different vacations in 2 different countries (China and Japan). With 2 different parties that meet together afterwards. Additionally, I needed 3 last minute Visas, and I needed it done in 3 weeks. Not only did Joe coordinate everything in San Diego, but when I was already in Japan, he was there to help me as well. I needed passport photos for Taiwan for myself and my kid on two different occasions. Both times I was able to walk in and out in less than 10 minutes. They were familiar with the specifications, cut pictures to size and gave me more than I needed and sent me the digital image too in case I needed reprints. They take photos for other passports too! They also process China visa applications with a 2 week turnaround for less than other agencies, and plan vacation packages. We are currently discussing a vacation package with them for a post-graduation group China trip for some families. They offered similar package to other agency for less. I was debating back and forth whether to get my Chinese visa on my own or go through a travel agency. In the end, I found it was better through a travel agency with the additional cost as the China consulate is located in Koreatown, LA and only opened during workdays until 2pm. I found this agency which had good reviews compared to others so I decided to try it with them. It's located inside the 99 Ranch Supermarket closer to the cashiers on Balboa Ave in Clairemont. There's a huge open parking lot with ample parking in the area. Prior to going in, I called twice to see what I had to bring in to get my Chinese Visa. Both times, the workers were very helpful and informative in assisting with my questions. The first time I called, a male worker answered my questions on certain main documents to bring in - current passport, old passport with previous Chinese visa, California ID. However, I don't have my California ID yet, so he informed me that I could bring my electricity bill with my name and address. The second time I called, a female worker answered my follow up questions of not having my old passport in hand. Luckily, they were okay with it as long as I could get a picture of my old passport and Chinese visa and text it to them. Wow, very convenient and stress-free! The process was quick and seamless! I went in and handed my passport and a copy of my electricity bill in which a worker made a copy of (even though the copy was for them LOL). She filled out a form and gave me the option to pay via cash, Venmo, or Zelle. The price was a flat $300 which includes the $140 visa fee with the consulate and a picture for the consulate. I paid through Zelle and got a written receipt for my payment. As I didn't have my old passport with my first Chinese visa, the worker told me to text the picture of my old Chinese visa to the same number as the one listed on Yelp/Google. She told me that my passport with the visa will be ready in two weeks. And just like that, done! VERY easy. I received a text the same day my passport came back which took about 2 weeks to come in. Went in and picked it up with a photo ID, and I was ready to go to China! The process was very easy overall. The workers answered all my questions with detailed response and make it as uncomplicated as possible which was amazing. I was hesitant to do this at first as I hear so many horror stories with Chinese travel agencies, but Phoenix Vacation really surprised me which their easy, quick process!
