SO when you're in a crunch and you crack your phone on a damn brick paver, what do you do? If you're like me, you have NO idea especially because time is not on your side. Chatting with some folks And they mention a mobile phone repair service which you're thinking is too good to be true... or is it? Went online to the website and made an appointment at 8:53 AM figuring it was a longshot that they would actually be able to accommodate my 12 noon request and voilà-Joe comes to the rescue! He calls me and lets me know he's en route to my location and would call me upon arrival, which he surely did. He came upstairs to my office, fixed my screen, provided me with another screen protector at a relatively minimal cost and he even helped me and my crazed self become untangled from my necklace and headphones (don't ask!). Joe was super cool, personable and most importantly-fast! 20 mins later, screen was fixed and he was on his way. I honestly think he was finished sooner than he called me but was giving me a few more minutes because I was so frazzled. Excellent customer service and job well done. Initially I was very pleased by the repair. The response for a quote was quick, easily able to schedule an appointment for the next day, at my home. We had 2 phones repaired. An iPhone 6s with a badly cracked screen. And an iPhone 7 that was not able to make or receive calls due to a sound issue, no sound, speakerphone button was grayed out. There was sound for music and Bluetooth. The iPhone 7 earpiece was replaced, to see if that was the cause. While still open the phone was tested, the sound still did not work. Once the phone was closed up the it would no longer turn on. We called the technician back. We were told it was a mess, not sure why it wouldn't turn on. We were planning to replace the phone anyway, although we would have like to backup the phone and transfer the information, which we could no longer do, as it would not turn on. The iPhone 6s screen was replaced. The phone turned on and was handed back to me it looked fine. My son noticed the next day that the screen was not flush with the body of the phone. Sure enough there was a gap, a fingernail could easily slide into the side of the phone. We were on our way out of town, unable to go back and have the issue remedied. I figured we would just have someone reseat the screen later. I took the phone in for a battery repair, I do not think is connected to the screen repair. I pointed out the gap and asked them to make sure the screen was set properly when they were finished. When they opened the phone up they found pieces of glass (from the broken screen) in the phone and screws missing. This was why the screen was not sitting flush. -We paid for a replacement earpiece on the iPhone 7, the phone that no longer worked. -We paid for the screen repair, which the glass was replaced, but not properly installed. -And we tipped the man for his time for traveling to us. I was not really upset about the iPhone 7 not working until realizing that the screen repair was not properly completed. Two phones "repaired" and two phones with issues after the repair makes me believe that both repairs were not completed on good faith. I would not recommend using this company, even though I realize there are a lot of great reviews, maybe it was a bad day...whatever it is, bottom line for me, it's money lost now for work not done correctly. read more

So after a whole ordeal of my phone not working, the manager nonstop calling and texting to remove my review so it wouldn't affect his business, I got a refund and was left with a half functioning screen that glitched almost all the time. I went back home and had someone look at the phone and once again change the screen. He informed me that phone doctor had pretty much scammed me- half the screws were missing and it was a super cheap screen. He even showed me how they messed it up so "True Tone" didn't show up on my iPhone- but as most consumers, I had no idea about any of this. I am obviously very disappointed and while I'm glad they gave me the refund (only to improve their reviews), I felt compelled to write this because I wish others wouldn't have succumbed to the pressure to update / boost reviews in order to get a repair or refund. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are not transparent and I hope nobody else falls victim to this scheme or at least that the company stops doing this. Read through the other reviews- many people have similar experiences. And even worse, the company has made a new Yelp page to get rid of all these reviews (look them up). They are not worth your money or time. So very disappointed by this service and annoyed the only part they care about is forcing customers to amend reviews so they can keep it going. These guys are a dream come true. Joe replaced a battery and a screen on an iPhone. I was a little nervous about having it serviced outside an Apple store, but the phone is a couple of years old and not worth spending hundreds of dollars on. The phone was fixed in my home, quickly, and inexpensively (as opposed to waiting days for an appointment, spending 2 hours at the Apple store and then paying a ton of $$). ORIGINAL POST: I am so disappointed I have not enjoyed the great service and speediness others have experienced. I have been waiting for my appointment for close to 3 hours now. I gave them a call a half hour into when my appointment was supposed to begin, and they told me I was next up and they would be there soon. It's been two hours since then. Also, the Groupon value is MORE than the company regularly charges for an iPhone screen repair. Definitely do your homework before purchasing any sort of deal/discount offer from this service. Here's hoping they still show up... eventually. FOLLOW UP: I truly never write Yelp reviews, and I certainly do not write follow up reviews, but after the experience with this business, I had no choice. Per the above, I finally was able to connect with a customer service representative via the Phone Doctor website. My technician (the one who did not show up pre the above) was in a car accident, which is obviously unfortunate. That said, I would expect nothing less than the company contact all forward-looking customers waiting for said driver to alert them to the fact that the technician would no longer be able to show up. THANK GOD FOR JOE! Instead... I was asked by this really special customer service rep if I would rather resolve the situation or if I would like to continue slandering the business lol. A discontented customer expressing their frustration is not slander. Oy. Anyways... After an unnecessary amount of dramatic back and forth and being told I was being insensitive to the driver who was able to email his colleagues an hour before about this accident (he still would have been almost two hours later, btw), I finally got them to secure a technician who was over an hour away. He gave me a call and could not have been NICER! YAY JOE! But wait! 10 minutes later Joe called me again to let me know that he got a call from HQ telling him to not show up to my appointment (now almost 5 hours later) because I had written a Yelp review. No phone call to me. Just that Joe shouldn't come because they had found the above Yelp review. This place is fabulous only because of JOE. They ended up giving me a discount (well, a discount only if you consider the fact that their prices directly are less than their Groupons). So thanks. But really, get it together. I took my moms iPhone to Phone Doctor Dc unfortunately they weren't able to fix it, but they have pickup service and drop off. The tech Jamar that came to my house was very courteous and efficient. He advised me all that was done and explained next steps. Though he did work on it, they only charged me the fee to come out. Furthermore explained what was wrong with the phone. One BIG plus is 'mobile service'. They came to my job and fixed my phone while I was working. Technician arrived and replaced my iPhone 6 screen within 15 minutes, if not less. I would make note that the phone number listed on yelp and website did not work for me. I tried reaching them to push back appointment time. - I requested multiple quotes and I chose this because it was in my area at the time. The manager called me and i asked him if they take cards, he told me yes. So anyways, I was a little sketchy because of the location. I understand businesses being cautious due to Covid. I felt a little uncomfortable of the location. It was in a building and I'm assuming that they have a unit in this building where they fix phones and such. I made an appointment and the time frame was between 3-4. I got there around 3:20pm. I went into this lobby. I was assuming that I was going into the shop with the two guys that greeted me. They asked for my info and they said it would be about 45 minutes. It was over an hour when I got my phone back. Before I was handed my phone I asked one of the guys I forgot his name, I asked him do you take cards. His answer was the credit card machine is down. That's where it went downhill. If I would have known the card system was down, I would have waited to get my phone fixed. I was paying with a credit card. So I had to get my mother to cash app this business and it was just real unfortunate. My mother was pretty sketchy because of the payment (being on cash app). My phone screen works and is back to normal. Thank you all very much for replacing my screen. They also gave me a screen protector, which was appreciated. Future advice to the manager; Asking the customer their form of payment, and letting them know that they will be outside and not inside while their phone is being fixed. Joe's a nice guy and he'll do what he can to help get your phone working again, unfortunately they use cheap parts and jerry rig the phone so that it works for a couple hours or days, but then always breaks again. Used them for a simple repair and it turned into a nightmare when my phone just kept getting worse.
