Delicious food in a very casual environment. Things were looking pretty calm when we arrived, but quickly became packed with several parties waiting for tables!

It was raining so hard and we were very hungry ... Phuket Thai was kind enough to feed us..warm food... very homely.. made me emotional... we ended up eating everything... I recommend this place to everyone.. 10/10... experience

Beef Thai Salad, Deep Fried Pomfret, curry noodles, Tom Yum Kai & Pineapple Fried Rice
    Jackie H.

We were craving Asian food and found this place with great reviews--so we stopped by for dinner after a long drive from San Francisco. The customer service was excellent, and to our pleasant surprise, the food was authentically Thai. The Tom Yum was flavorful and well-prepared with plenty of cilantro root, galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves--this aromatic blend truly brought the dish to life. However, it was a bit on the salty side for our taste. The curry noodles also leaned too salty, while the beef Thai salad was just okay--not particularly memorable. On the bright side, the fried pomfret was nicely done--crispy and satisfying. The pineapple fried rice, unfortunately, was soggy; it would've been better with a drier, fluffier texture. Overall, finding decent and authentic Thai food around Mt. Shasta isn't easy, so this place was a nice discovery. It's a quiet, cozy spot where you can enjoy a meal and chat with family without the noise and rush.

Nice thai place with lots of vegan dishes. We ordered green curry, red curry, panang curry, rice paper rolls, basil fried rice Green curry, panang & basil fried rice were really good, Tofu was fresh, firm. Portion size was good & prices were reasonable. Shasta has less veggie/vegan place and this was definitely a good spot. Red curry was not that great. Seemed like indian curry. It was a clean , spacious place. We were a party of 5 & they charged us 15% gratuity.

Raw Bean Sprouts in Pad Thai?!

This place is an absolute disgrace to "authentic Thai food", because I had the absolute worst experience here. Parking is easy, but the restaurant seems a little oudated in terms of decor. Then again, Mount Shasta has very limited food selections. I ordered a Pad Thai and a Curry Noodle, and both were absolutely disgusting. The funny thing is, the first time I came here during my stay, they were apparently too busy to serve us, with an estimated 1 hour wait time for food since their kitchen was so busy. The dishes come one at a time, and my pad thai would've been cold if I didn't start eating and waited for other dishes to arrive. For starters, the Pad Thai was served with raw bean sprouts. What is this, pho?? It was disgusting to be munching on raw bean sprouts, and every other Thai place I've been to had cooked bean sprouts. The flavor is mediocre at best, but if I wasn't starving on the brink of death, I would not have touched another bite of it. The Curry Noodle was so bad to the point where my girlfriend (a lover of Thai food) did not even eat over half the bowl. The broth was not authentic; it was watery and salty. I ordered a few other dishes I couldn't recall since I had a part of 4, but no one finished their food, even though we were all Thai food fans. I'm not sure what these reviewers are giving at 5 stars, but this place was an absolute let down. The only redeeming quality is their Thai Tea, which cannot be messed up. Their prices are too expensive for the quality of food and service, and I left hungry and decided to sleep on a half empty stomach. I get that LA and the Bay's Thai food can't compare to smaller cities, but in this case, just don't get Thai food. If you're hungry after a day hiking in the area, do not come to this place. There are so many better restaurants in this small town.

    Vegan green curry

Super duper excruciatingly slow service but great food. Glad for an entire vegan menu ! Got the green curry with tofu and veggies - comes with jasmine rice. Well flavored, they seem to use a basil paste vs traditional green curry paste with shrimp etc. No complaints, we did want it vegan. Nice portion and came piping hot.

    Thai Iced Tea

This review is specifically for those who care about amazing Thai food. This lovely little cafe boasts some of the most delicious dishes! The inside of this cafe isn't the prettiest: they could use a mural or wallpaper or even a new paint color? But it says "cafe" not "fine dining" so that shouldn't matter too much. My partner and I arrived for lunch and shared the fried rice (combination) and the stuffed wings. Oh my gosh: those stuffed wings were melt in your mouth fried crispiness and the dipping sauce was honeyed delight. We also tried a Thai iced tea: it was wonderful (just on the sweet side). The man who served us was very kind, welcoming and provided excellent service. He was busy but he was also watchful and ready to help on the drop of a dime. It was a lovely experience. We will definitely be back!

I was craving some Thai food and in the area at a local waterfall so I thought I would stop in and give it a try I wish I could give a positive review for this restaurant however I cannot..!!!! When we entered, we were asked to take our own menus and find a seat. The air felt damp and the tables and seats were dirty and ripped with tape as repairs Our three entrées came out at completely different times and I'd say the quality was cafeteria at best. At worst, some of the food items tasted strange and unlike any Thai food I had in the past We had Drunken Noodle- very strange texture to the noodles and an offputting taste in the sauce Pineapple Rice- rice was definitely not cooked that day. It was difficult to chew and harsh when swallowed. Shrimp Curry- probably the better of the three dishes however, the tail on frozen shrimp were overcooked and tasteless I chose not to eat these. These are all items I eat frequently from Thai restaurants and I would say I'm very familiar with the taste texture and appearance they should have with an understanding of possible variances in ingredients and presentations at different restaurants. For $60 with tip out the door, my food regret was high I spent the ride home searching yelp for another restaurant to try in Mount Shasta during my next visit

We were happy to find this place while nearby. It's cool that they have 2 separate menus clearly labelled "Vegan" and "Non-vegan". The vegan menu has 32 items to choose from! We ordered 18V Tom kha w/ veg, 22V yellow curry w/ veg & tofu, 41V sautéed mixed veg in bean sauce, and 55V basil fried rice. I've had many Tom kha's over the years and this one was different - a lot darker in color and more tomatoey. Typically Tom kha is a white/beige broth or a hint of light orange color from chili oil. This soup had also stronger flavours. Very flavorful and fragrant. It was good, just different. But also slightly too salty - added more water & coconut milk when we got back home. The yellow curry was yummy and my husband really enjoyed it. The sautéed mixed veg in bean sauce - I thought it might be in a thicker sauce or something. I asked what the bean sauce was like but the gentleman taking orders wasn't sure. Anyway, it turned out that it was sautéed veg in a thin soy sauce basically. Made me wish I chose something different. We ordered the basil fried rice after seeing another review saying it was their favorite dish. It was good and definitely fragrant. But after several more bites I really noticed it was really lacking seasoning and tasted bland real quick. Would be great accompanying the curry though since the curry is more flavorful. Overall, being in a town with a population of 3400 this place was okay. It's fine that the inside looks super dated but it's in desperate need of a deep cleaning...I could see years of dirty fingers touching light switches & door handles built up which would wipe clean with a sponge, pressure and water/vinegar or bleach/water. The floors need to be scrubbed and mopped, especially near the edges/walls. I noticed dust build up on many surfaces such as a little statue at the end of their bar that was sitting on a box wrapped in pink wrapping paper. The top of the pink box was super dusty and the bottom edges of the box are nearly black from dirt buildup over the years I'm guessing. From a distance/at a glance it's not that bad but this place just really needs some TLC. Because of the reviews I thought this was going to be an epic gem but I didn't find that to be the case - but to each their own. I will say that they were pretty busy with orders 4 separate parties came in for pickup orders while we were there and the phone was ringing a lot with people placing more orders for pickup. And some phone calls didn't get answered because everyone was busy in the back. So maybe it's possible it happened to be a super busy night and they were rushing and missed some of the seasonings? So maybe this time was a one off? If we're ever nearby - we might come back for another try, after the place gets a good deep cleaning.

We love how they emphasize healthier preparations while still delivering bold spices and perfect balance in every dish. Favorites include the Pad Thai, Panang curry, and anything with their fresh veggies and proteins. Portions are impressively large--you'll definitely have leftovers, which is a huge bonus for the price. The service is always warm and friendly; the staff remembers regulars and is happy to adjust spice levels or accommodate dietary needs. That said, be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours or weekends. They make everything to order, which shows in the quality, but it can mean 20-40 minutes (or more) depending on how busy they are. Trust me, though--it's absolutely worth it. The cozy little spot fills up fast for good reason. If you're in the area craving real Thai food that's healthy and satisfying, don't skip Andaman. Highly recommend!

Very friendly, personable and knowledgeable chef. A cool dude. I give this place a five star because of the food and the one man staff. The BBQ was spot on delicious. The Pork Spareribs (1 rack) with 2 rice plate (for two people) was juicy and full of flavorful smoke and Thai influences. The Three Smoked Meat rice plate was also delicious. The smoking and Bbq are done using wood. No charcoal or gas. You can really taste the natural wood smoke flavor in every bite.
