I tried to get a wheelchair for my mother from this store. After giving all of the information to them, I finally called them back a week later. They had no record of my call and I had to give the information all over again. Then they called back and said that Medicare is not my 87 year old mother's primary insurance and that her Scott and White Medicare supplement was her primary insurance and she got Medicare through Scott and White. Since they do not have a contract with Scott and White, they would not be able to help me. She was rude about it, too. I called Medi Care Equipment Specialist who processed the order without any difficulties and with Medicare paying for it. Don't waste your time with Physicians Home Medical Equipment. read more

This is a medical equipment & supply outlet in the small stripmall at the junction of Villa Maria Rd. & Briarcrest Dr. I say 'outlet', because it clearly isn't a store. There are a few braces on display attached to the wall, a wheelchair and a walker in their tiny lobby. An employee goes to the back to look-up and fetch a requested item. Then the paperwork. I came in here looking for a simple suture kit (suture, needle, forceps) for a gash on my finger. After waiting for almost 5 minutes, I was able to get someone's attention in the back room. She had to ask someone else, who then typed something on her computer, then the first lady came back, indicating they don't carry it. read more

I have never needed any medical supplies; but when my mom sick they were a true "one stop shop"! She needed several items like a hospital bed, wheelchair, oxygen, and provided her diapers. Now me being the guy that simply sees his premiums come out of his paycheck and thinks no further had no idea what some of the insurance procedures were; but they walked me thru every step of the process. They let me know exactly how much my mom's deductible and co-pays were. They even contacted my mom's doctors to get all the paperwork so I didnt have to run all over town collecting them. Not to mention they were some of the friendliest people and made what could have been a daunting experience extremely painless. physicians staff came and set my grandmother up in a hospital bed when she was released from the hospital. they were very easy to work with, and took care of our grandmothers needs. we had no problems with the equipment, and appreciate the staffs help. i would highly recommend physicians to others!!!! read more
