I was invited to eat at this place with two other friends, and we each ordered a pasta. I picked the Linguine alle vongole. My first friend ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. My second friend chose the Spaghetti alla bottarga peperoncino lemon-orange zest e prezzemolo. I absolutely loved my linguine pasta with clams! It was creamy with rich sauce and the seafood taste of the clams. I was told the carbonara pasta was also great as well. As for the chili-lemon pasta though, my friend said that it left more to be desired. The pastas, as great as the tastes of them were, were served in smaller portions than we expected though. We were finished with eating everything within a few minutes. I feel the price was also big for the size we received, each dish was around 24 to 28 dollars. Interior had a cool atmosphere, lights and music set the scene amazingly! But the music was also a bit loud unfortunately. They were playing music inside, and we were seated right under a speaker, so we had a bit of a hard time speaking and hearing each other. Also, before we entered the restaurant, I was checking the menu and noticed that it says at the bottom that they only take cash or American Express as payment, so just in case, make sure you are prepared for that! So, I have a difficult time evaluating this place. A pretty generic interior but they do have awnings so they can let the air in. My server was awesome(i forget his name), but he got me all taken care and went above and beyond. I got the carbonara pizza. My 2 favorite things: carbonara and pizza; a match made in heaven. This pizza was super rich, salty, and well executed. The guancile with the broken egg yolk paired with the crust was wonderful. A bit of pepper to balance everything out. While the food is fantastic, we found ourselves returning to chat with Marcelo (I hope I'm spelling it correctly!). A wonderful restaurant with lots of charm and a friendly staff. A really nice wooden burning pizza oven. A good variety of Italian dishes. We enjoyed the calamari with greens and fennel. The mushrooms on toast was surprisingly good. Nicely sauteed broccoli rabe. All the pasta seemed very fresh with just enough sauce to make it perfect. Plenty of seating inside and out to make it perfect for groups of friends to talk and catch up on each others lives. One of the most unique things about Piacere is the bathroom. Have no fear you are not hallucinating. Bring cash unless you are willing to pay the POS charge :(. We had a fairly large party so tip was included in the bill. My partner and I had a great evening at here. We walked in without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy, authentic Italian feel. It really is a perfect date spot. We started with the Mozzarella e Prosciutto and Pomodoro Bruschetta, both of which paired beautifully the glasses of red wine we ordered. The Mozzarella e Prosciutto was simply delicious--soft, fresh mozzarella served with thinly sliced prosciutto and a bed of peppery arugula. The combination of flavors was light yet satisfying, a great balance of creamy, salty, and slightly spicy from the greens. The Pomodoro Bruschetta was equally delightful. The toasted bread was topped with a generous portion of fresh, juicy tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil and just the right amount of garlic and basil. Each bite was full of classic Italian flavor, and the crispness of the bread was perfect. The highlight was definitely the Quattro Formaggi pizza we ordered. We could NOT even finish this as the cheese were so flavorful and dense that on top of the mozzarella we had earlier, this had to be boxed up (but reheated well). Piacere is a cute little Italian restaurant by Little Italy, and I stumbled upon it by chance when many of the restaurants in the area closed early. We called ahead and they said they would take us which is nice since we ended up being the only ones. We got the margarita pizza to split which came out in minutes and was thin, crispy, and a perfect pizza. I got the carbonara which was really good and not too salty, although I wish the bacon was a little more crispy. We finished with the tiramisu which was good but nothing extraordinary. You order and 5 minutes later the food is delivered, it's almost fast casual but sit down prices. Also the portions are a little small. Deleted my original review so here is the updated one: Food was very good, and my initial waiter was very kind as I was there alone (mind you in a new city by myself). Owner took over for him after I had finished. My bill came, and he would not take my card. On the bottom of their menu, it says "American Express or cash". I didn't use this menu, because the waiter told me there was a QR code with photos. I used that one. At this point I was humiliated and crying and he ended up accepting my card because I had no other option. A huge fee was tacked on as a result. Waiters here need to tell guests their payment policy. It is inexcusable for an NYC restaurant and I left very upset and humiliated as a result of their miscommunication. There are several other reviews on here with the same experience. read more

Just finished eating atera and had to fulfill my neopolitan pie craving. We find this place about 7 mins away from the restaurant and place the order. They only make it if you are nearby since the pies are made quickly ~5mins. So I ordered the ROBIOLA PIACERE and wahh. I thought I ordered pizza but I received an Italian quesadilla. The flavor was great and all but this isn't what I wanted. This isn't what I was crashing for. This was quite disappointing.
