Amazing food and amazing service. It is very cute inside and they have a nice upstairs area that would be great for a party.

Actually no stars Unfortunately, the experience has dipped dramatically since about a year and half to 2 years ago. Pros: food delicious Tagalini Sorrento was delcious as expected. This dish has been my go to for last 5 times before covid (Then price $18) before Covid and 1 time after ($20 - $22?)... Its now $32! Understand with inflation and all.. Burrata (antipasti) 1st time try - good but thought the mozzeralla could be fresher...kinda too firm. Service was respectful. Ambience: Rustic...sort of. Used to have more of an energetic vibe here... perhaps less diners due to high cost of eating out these days. Cons: About 4 1/2 hrs after... i had food poisoning. Had food poisoning before from past eats... but This time It came out from both ends -- my first experience vomiting. Fought the nausea until the point i broke out in beads of sweat. Think i gushed out about 85% of my meal. Then i had ginger tea...which made me feel somewhat better. Try to sleep, then awoke within an hour +/- due to diarrhea. Overall Bad night of sleep. My bf, felt some uneasiness in his gut but he didn't get food poisoning I had. He did go to the bathroom but didn't vomit and was not uncomfortable. We had same appetizer and he had a different seafood pasta...AND a tartufo (I had 2 small spoonfuls) and cappucino (I had 2 sips)! Ironically, for the inflated prices, I spent $60+ (for my share)... and then got sick, which never happened in the past at this restaurant. Prices then were 40% +/- cheaper. Food was as delicious then or better and I came away like "everything was right with the world" feeling. Sadly, will not go back to Il Corallo. read more

Enjoyed my meal at Corallo Trattoria. Starting off with complimentary bread that is warmed and soft. The artichoke and crab parmigiana was this delicious dip that came with the same complimentary bread. The Taglierini Sorrento (squid ink noodles, shrimp, crab meat,scallops, clams, chopped tomato, white wine, garlic) also unique and favorable. It gets crowded in the evening. Il Corallo Trattoria was an amazing experience that I would recommend for anyone looking to get good Italian food in the city. I came here with a friend who was visiting the city for the week. While the place is indoor, there are no clear doors or window so it still feels as though it is outdoors. Il Corallo is perfect for a semi-casual occasion. The food was also great. I got the spaghetti carbonara, which was on the cheaper side and also tasted perfect. The cream, bacon, and fettucine blended together beautifully and I would definitely recommend it. Service was also good, as our servers were attentive and also explained any parts of the menu we were confused about. Also, they take online reservations, which makes it very convenient. I hate to let the secret out---but this gem of a restaurant has an amazing $13.95 daily lunch special that runs from 12- 4 PM and it's excellent! Of course, there's an extensive dinner menu (on my list) as well as a happy hour menu. Located in Soho, it was jam packed by the time we arrived. In fact, we had a bit of a wait but it was not longer than 10 minutes. The interior was rustic, cozy, cute and a bit cramped. Not fancy or upscale. Is it authentic Italian? Maybe/maybe not but they do a good job. The $13.95 lunch special included either soup or salad and choice of pasta, pizza, entree salad or sandwich. For an additional $8, you can select house wine or Gelato. We both went the wine route which was pretty good. Montepulciano for red and a Trebbiano for white. While I selected the hearty salad as my starter, the soup of the day was Minestrone. As far as main, we both chose the Pasta Giusseppe style which included chopped garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas, onions and peppers in a wine sauce. It was difficult to choose among the pasta selections as all looked good. There was even a Zucchini Noodle "pasta" choice with a lemon sauce for those who can't eat carbs or are carb conscious. The pasta portion was quite generous and the Trebbiano wine (my selection) was such a nice accompaniment. The server brought us an aperitif on the house as we concluded our very satisfying late lunch dining experience. I couldn't stop talking about this place when we left. In times like this where prices are elevated everywhere, this adorable trattoria offers an unheard of value for a very delicious lunch. A Starbucks order might be costlier! Small and larger than life at the same time. We started out with two appetizers. The antipasto burrata with prosciutto on the side. I got the Tortellini Pesto, which consisted of cheese filled tri color tortellini in a fresh basil, garlic, walnut and Parmigiano pesto sauce. I added chicken. Absolutely delectable. Highly recommend. Due to how wonderful everything was, I had expected our bill to be outrageous but to my surprise, it wasn't. The space was cozy and intimate but, due to the amount of food we ordered, we were a little concerned that we wouldn't have enough space to fit everything on the table. But once in a while I crave carbs in various forms including the types that hurt me in delicious ways so I searched hard. Great Italian restaurant in SoHo that I definitely recommend getting a reservation. This is NYC so parking be limited; get here via rideshare or walking/subway. First off, the restaurant is quaint and small but also has outdoor seating since they have this makeshift patio on the curb of the street. Being that it is small, it is more intimate. We didn't have any issues with nearby tables and it's nice that the restaurant even puts of plexiglass-sort-of walls to assist with privacy. All the servers were very welcoming and nice. They offered recommendations and were quick to clean and take dirty plates/utensils. For the food, all of us enjoyed what we got from the pizza to the pasta and even their complimentary bread. We were very very hungry after our flight, so did we eat everything...yes, yes we did and it was also because everything was flavorful. Two of the pastas had seafood and one of the pastas was made with squid ink. So so good! The pizza also had seafood, and we even ate it with a tad bit of vinegar/oil which made it even more delectable. Lastly, their gosh darn Tiramisu is a must. The shrimp was also overcooked. The tomato sauce was flavorful and paired nicely though, and I dunk the pizza crust with this sauce because it was so good. I ordered the Pizza Urbino ($18), which had mozzarella, mushrooms, and prosciutto (among others) - the prosciutto came in large strips and was very tasty. The pasta noodles themselves tasted fresh and were the perfect amount of chewiness. The pasta also came with a bunch of seafood, which was very good - the small scallops and clams were good and the peeled shrimp was a plus too. There was not much crab meat in there though. These dishes were generally decent value. For dessert, I ordered the Tartufo Classico ($12), which had some nice gelato inside and the caramelized hazelnuts along the outside added a nice crunch and texture to go along with the cocoa powder on the outside. The staff (especially the guy I assumed was the owner who was the main person servicing us) were very friendly and attentive. The service speed was very fast. The restaurant has some nice homey decor with a cozy atmosphere and moderate noise level. There is a decent amount of seating inside with some outdoor tables as well. The indoor tables filled up, even on a Tuesday night. Overall, Il Corallo is a solid option for classic Italian pizzas and pastas. The photo I included may look weird (honestly because I was kind of drunk off the pinot grigio our waiter recommended), but trust me it was amazing. Even if you're not a huge mushroom person, I still recommend! My boyfriend loved the Rigatoni Padani! And we both finished the tiramisu like we were on a time crunch. The service was a bit lacking but very enthusiastic--we had a large party of eight without a reservation, and they accommodated us the best they could outside by putting two tables together. However, we did have to ask for bread, which was on the drier side and definitely not gourmet, but it did the trick. The rigatoni padani with sausage had delicious homemade pasta in a thick and creamy tomato sauce. The mozzarella was incredibly savory and stretchy, there was plenty of sausage, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Flavor was on par with Bar Primi, but at a lower price point and with a more casual ambience.
