The service was amazing but the pasta isn't anything special. The salad was great and the olive oil is amazing but I wouldn't go back for a meal, maybe just for happy hour or salad. I love the set up it is very good for a mother daughter day but the pasta is as good as most chain pasta places. I ha the meatballs and spaghetti and my mother had the penne they where super basic tasting. The salad on the other hand was amazing it had mushrooms and chicken. read more

After too long, tried Piatti again, this time with a larger party. All around the table were raves. I love how they change up the menu. Came here for dinner and we were disappointed. The food was in general pretty good although the chicken dish was a little dry and probably needs some sauce (there is a walnut pesto sauce under the potatoes but it doesn't work that well for it). We liked the cheese and salami board as an appetizer. The bean soup was good. The meatballs sat awhile before they were brought out so they were cold but they tasted good. The chopped salad was okay, nothing special. Our waiter got our entire order messed up, the order in which the food came out was wrong and it took forever to get our entrees so we ran out of time since we had an appointment and had to box them to go. They also charge a 5% surcharge which seems a little like an insult when the wait staff were so bad and no one else checked on us. You have to wait for your wait person to bring water or refill drinks, so I'm not clear why they don't use tipping but I get confused on the whole surcharge, tipping issue. All in all, it's a nice restaurant in a great location but they need to figure out how to successfully take the food orders and get the food to the tables in a consistent, efficient manner. read more

We had the roasted chicken with gnochi and the manacotti, they both were outstanding!! Xzavier was our server, he was great, it was a busy Friday night but he did a great job taking care of us! The roasted chicken said to allow 20 minutes so we knew it might take awhile but it didn't feel like that at all. We will most definately be back. read more

Good service and I really like the outdoor setup - the blankets are a nice touch. Unfortunately my meal did not live up to my expectations. After browsing through yelp pictures I saw that one of the more popular dishes is the linguine with clams and lamb sausage. The ratio of clam to sausage was disappointing; overwhelmed with lamb and not enough clam! They also handmake the pasta. That means the linguine itself was delicious, right? Wrong... it was mushy and all stuck together (I like my pasta a little al dente). All in all, it was an okay dinner, but I probably won't be coming back again. read more

My wife and I have visited with our 1-year old son several times, mostly in the afternoons and evenings for dinner. The food is solid, the service is great, but most of all (for us) they are GREAT with young kids. It's really unusual to find a restaurant which is nice and which also caters to families, but we've found our sweet spot with Piatti. At times, when busy, we've been tucked in the back room, but even then it's worked out just great. read more

Casual but quite pleasant with good food. I had a Caesar salad with sautéed prawns and the garlic olives. My dinner companion had the special of the day - risotto with scallops. Mine was good, but my friend said her meal was great. Cocktails were quite good. The kids really enjoyed their food. We had an excellent waiter who went above and beyond. Simply amazing! My husband and I went there recently to celebrate our anniversary, and they took extra special care of us! Our server was Danielle, she was extraodinary to say the least. She was attentive and friendly, she made the dinner fun and enjoyable. The food is outstanding, you can tell the chefs take pride in the dishes they put out for everything was neatly plated and perfectly cooked. We went through many courses, and each one was better than the last. My husband and I are still talking about how great the gnocchi was, after traveling to Italy it is really hard to find a chef that can compare! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone out of town or in the area that wants a relaxing and enjoyable evening. read more

This place has a nice menu. It was about about 2:30 pm on a Saturday so we knew it was going to be quite busy. But we got seated at the bar quickly. The bar was not wiped down from the previous people that were there. The bartender was very nice but she looked exhausted and all the other staff would order drinks and then ask "can I help you". Instead of just saying "what can I do to help you". Saying things that way makes it sounds like you genuinely want to help someone. When we received our chicken Parmesan the chicken was still cold on the inside like it had come out of the freezer, warmed on the pan or microwave and then put on the plate with sauce over it. My daughter and I dropped by for Happy Hour. Instead of opting for one of the house wines or well drinks, we did upgrade to two of their "signature" cocktails, so that was $8.50 each and I was okay with that. We also ordered the Caesar salad ($5.50) with skirt steak (for an additional $6.00) as our light dinner and I was not okay with what was delivered. The salad was in a small bowl, similar to a side salad and there were, literally, three small morsels of steak on one side of the salad -- three cubes perhaps as large as 1 1/4". Our bill for the two drinks, two itsy-bitsy salads with the tiniest hint of protein on one side plus an order of bread came to $46.00 Next time we're in the area, we will know to head on over to Jak's, where they really know how to offer a value-oriented happy hour menu..... read more

Not impressed. Service was poor and forgetful amd didn't know what was in what dish or how to describe a drink. Two dishes had to be salted, a lot. Bacon was burnt and bitter. One dish was exceedingly spicy. The sauce for a hot appetizer was cold, not just hot and then cooled naturally but served cold. Would not recommend. read more

Setting is lovely, with lots of trees around the building, and high ceilings with skylights. The tables are kind of invaded by the open kitchen- lots of noise and bustle, which I find detracting, if you should sit within view of the kitchen. Perfect spot for an outdoor drink and dessert while shopping in U-Village in the summer. read more

I have dined at Piatti several times and it has never failed to impress in every category. You can't go wrong by starting with a caesar salad and the calamari. My go to dinner dish is the Maiale. Spice rubbed pork loin over (to die for) risotto and roasted carrots served with a huckleberry sauce. Deeelish. The gratis bread with oil and vinegar is excellent as well. We were lucky enough to dine right next to the fireplace which made the experience complete. Molto bene!!! read more

I had the butter salad with vino. The food was good but it was the cleaniness of the place that disappointed me. Silverware had chunks of something stuck on both fork and knife. My wine glass and wine was all gross I asked for another glass, the staff were cordial but I was a bit grossed out with all dirty dishes. Unfortunately I won't be coming back...grimy. read more

Awesome, just awesome. While the drinks and service weren't quite 5-star quality, the food made up for it ten times over. I had the rigatoni and my husband had the penne; both were superb. The spices were excellent. There was just enough heat to make it spicy, but it did not distract from the flavor at all. Really nice. Also, the bread was super good - nice and warm with tasty olive oil. Food tip: order the half plate because it is PLENTY of food. The service was a bit slow, but not awful by any means. And the drinks were a tad strong (we both ordered house cocktails). Other than that, no complaints! Very classy and enjoyable restaurant. Added bonus, all of the servers/hosts/bartenders are very attractive. read more

The best thing about Piatti is the wait staff. They make great suggestions, know what is the best wine for your meal and will honestly tell you when something is not so good. I'm not sure the mains are worth the price but the drinks are, especially the cocktails and half priced bottles of wine on Mondays. read more

The bread is good and the service was great. I had been here about a year ago and I had the pumpkin ravioli which were amazing. Today I had the salmon and it was kind of grey and fishy and the doughnuts were a bit raw in the middle. The only reason they have 2 stars is because it used to be good I hope this was just an off night. read more

I stopped in Piatti after a day of shopping and it was amazing. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. The bruschetta and olive oil they bring out is to die for, and you can get more than one basket full. I got the roasted chicken sandwich with almond pesto, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. I took my friend to Piatti to celebrate her birthday. Our server, David, was the best waitperson I've had in recent memory. He was warm without being obsequious or false, he moved quickly but never seemed in a rush. And most amazing of all, he is clairvoyant. He always knew exactly when we wanted service and otherwise didn't interrupt our visiting. The food was good also but it was David's service that really put the experience over the top for us. The Piatti in the Uvillage has been a place we'd go if were were after good italian food at a fairly reasonable price. Their menu was always good, the food delivered, and the service was generally very good. Until recently. They did a menu change (deletions and changes only) where they got rid of several tasty dishes and apparently changed other dishes for the worse. They had a paparedelle that used to have a great light sauce, seafood, and vegis. This is one of the items they actually kept on the menu, but now it's just got a borning meat sauce on it. The server was sympathetic to the missing menu items, but didn't seem to care much anymore. He didn't know the special, the linens on the table were filthy (but covered by a piece of paper!) and we didn't get drinks refilled. It used to be good, but I couldn't imagine going back with the changes they made. Stay away. read more

Piatti's at the U-Village has always been a favorite for us, but at our recent visit we noticed some changes that we did not enjoy. The Happy Hour menu was changed and it does no longer list a salad. No greens with Happy Hour?? We ordered a Margarita Pizza and Caesar's salad. The pizza was fine but only part of my salad had actually dressing on it. Most of the salad consisted of wet lettuce leaves with Parmesan cheese and no flavor. If I can have a better Caesar's at home than at Piatti's and pay full price, then we have a problem. I love this Restaurant. Its warm and friendly and the food is always great. Last night I learned a new way to enjoy Piatti. After too many hours shopping I stopped in and ordered two entrees and a salad to go. My food was packed and ready to go within 15 minutes. I spent the time browsing in the cooking store next door. My package included an assortment of wonderful breads and that fantastic spiced balsamic and olive oil so many others on this site rave about. The rigatoni with lamb sausage was rich and delicious. The penne with chicken was lighter and sported quite a kick. In fact both dishes had a wonderful level of spiciness. The refreshing citrus salad dressing on the butter leaf salad was the perfect compliment. I purchased the large portions of both pasta dishes and the portions were huge. We had leftovers for lunch and still have enough for another lunch tomorrow. One salad was plenty for the two of us to share. While I am sure we will enjoy future visits to Piatti's dining room, I am delighted to know I can pick up a great meal to enjoy at home as well. read more

No stars. Sadly, this is some of the worst Italian food we have ever eaten. Canned pasta from your local grocery store is on-par with the food here, and much less expensive. Really, really bad. I ordered the white sauce penne pasta. It was more a watered-down broth than a white sauce. The spaghetti was equally bad. We didn't finish either dish.
