It's an open and airy restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere. We were seated right away and we had a great view of the kitchen with pizza oven! We started with lattes that were creamy and delicious. I added a little sugar and it was a perfect coffee drink to start the meal with. We enjoyed the Spicy Sicilian Hash and the Breakfast Panino. The hash had tender brisket and great flavor. The panino had a tasty pesto, melty cheese, and bacon that was cooked to perfection. The portions are quite generous, so they would make for good sharing dishes! Prices are astronomically high for the quantity! We got the impossible meat lasagna, chicken Alfredo, and Tuscan kale and bean soup. The pasta entreés are $30 each. $12 for a small cup of soup. Hubs and I went there for dinner last December. Not busy, when we went there. Its been there for many years. The service was okay, the food was not how I remember it. I had a penne and neat sauce, which was good but I've had better. I forgot what the Hubs had, but not memberable. All in all, 3 out of 5 . Their food rating from The health department was a Good. I have found that Good is not great. The food usually isn't as good as a higher rating is. I used to work in restaurants in the kitchen. Had a really nice dining experience here over the summer. It was a warm evening so we sat outside. The only downside was the waitress forgot to come get our order for a while so we had to remind them we were out there! However, they apologized profusely and even comped our drinks and gave us a free desert! It was so sweet. For the starter we had fried zucchini fries which were soo good! Nicely crisped. Ordered a pizza that arrived 25 minutes late, cold, and much smaller than expected, more like a flatbread. The manager acknowledged the issue and offered a dessert, but even the tiramisu was stale with no coffee flavor. What really turned us away, though, was seeing Theresa treat the employees poorly. The California locations were a place we'd go to for a special occasion or a nice Sunday brunch. This Washington location is really, quite sad in comparison. The seating inside and outside is lovely. The waiters are friendly despite taking 20 mins to get an order in. In the end my pizza came out closer to cold than warm (yay, solid cheese). Despite that, it tasted fine, as did the pasta and appetizers. We just wouldn't come back for the price. I can get the same level enjoyment from eating a frozen pizza. read more

My son and I spent the day at UW for appointments and due to traffic we decided to go to U Village and grab dinner before heading home. When we walked in it was very empty probably due to the beautiful weather. There was no one at the host stand we stood up there for a good two minutes as the phone rang and finally the host walked up and said should be right with us. She dropped some food off on the patio, came back and then asked us if we could wait while she answered the phone. The waitress walked up to us and got us seated out on the patio. We ordered an app Burrata cheese and 2 Non alcoholic beverages. About 10 min passed and we received our app from I suppose the food runner. Our drinks were a few min behind the server dropped them and moved on. Our app was served with 4 small pieces of bread. We ran out of bread and were unable to eat our app but never saw our server until 30 min later after our dinner was served by a manger. Our server came by a few min later asking if we wanted more bread for our app. At this point it had been sitting for well over 30 min and I passed. Now our food was amazing the lemon spinach ricotta ravioli and the chicken fettuccini. Was amazing. We sat at our table with our plates stack and again our server was not to be found anywhere. We had to flag down the manager to get our check. Honestly food was 10/10 service was 2/10. Unfortunately we wont be back to many other choices with good service to have to settle read more

My sister and I had a late lunch at Piatti a few days ago and it was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was sparkling clean, and the hostess and waitress were very nice. Our glasses were filled repeatedly without being asked, and the food came out quickly. I had the Chicken Alfredo which was wonderful. We had to make a quick exit when we were done and the check was brought to us in a timely manner. The prices weren't unreasonable considering how nice the surrounding mall was. My friends and I came to Piatti for a birthday dinner and we had a pretty great time! We told them ahead of time that it was someone's birthday, so they presented us with menus that had "Happy Birthday" written on the top. Our hostess told us they didn't do anything for birthdays, but our server later let us know that we could have half of a Tiramisu. It felt like a great birthday experience! We ordered the Focaccia to share and I got the Short Rib Sugo. The focaccia was actually delicious, I loved the ratio of vinegar to oil in the dip. I would definitely recommend getting it as a starter. I loved the Short Rib Sugo as well, you could tell the sauce has been braised for a while and the amount of meat was plentiful! My friends also enjoyed their dishes; even though they are vegetarians, they were able to choose between most options since the server said they could take meat out of everything. Unfortunately, it took a while for us to get the check. Maybe around 30 minutes after indicating we were ready? It was the same night as a UW game so it was really crowded, but I did notice an abundance of hostesses standing around while the servers were running around the restaurant. Piatti's gotten a facelift since the last time I dined here many years ago and the new space is inviting and gorgeous. I just wish the food matched the new ambiance. We stopped in for dinner after doing some shopping and were just not impressed at all. Housemade focaccia is no longer complimentary, the meatballs were dry, the short rib sugo was literally like 4 pieces of pappardelle - and the sauce was oddly sweet, and the fried chicken saltimbocca was a joke. The small little pieces of chicken were also dry and overcooked, not to mention salty. Overall, the meal was a bust. Portion sizes are definitely on the smaller side and we had to grab burgers on the way home since we were all still hungry. It's too bad the food isn't better because this is a great location for a meal or a drink with a cool vibe. read more

We ordered: Focaccia - soft and tasty served with olive oil and vinegar Calamari - very little calamari amongst the many fried olives, lemon peels, jalapeños and zucchini. I like my calamari to be just calamari and not all those other fillers Lemon ricotta ravioli - delicious and would recommend Chicken Alfredo lumache - our favorite dish, the noodles were a fun shape, sauce was way better than the normal basic Alfredo. Piatti has been around for decades, and I remember it from the days when it was next to a bowling alley and the old QFC. But I haven't had a chance to dine here until recently, and after 3 visits, I have mixed feelings. First the good - definitely order the house focaccia bread- it's worth the additional $$. Also the cocktails were surprisingly good, and I really enjoyed the La Roma - rye, vermouth, amaro and bitters. But moving on to the pastas and entrees, there are some issues. The eggplant parmesan is decent, but $25 for 4 small disks is not a good value. I went to delfino's for a slice after spending $50 for a drink and the eggplant. The pasta portions are more generous, but at $25+ they need to be. The gnocchi was way too salty, and the lasagna was heavy. The lightest option was ironically the alfredo. The wine list runs pricey too and a glass of barolo was $22. Overall, Piatti will work in a pinch for Italian at U Village but be prepared to pay $$ for inconsistent dishes. read more

The service was a bit slow as we waited about 20 mins for our waiter to take our order. We started with Fritto Misto ($11 HH) and I got the piatti spritz! Calamari was very good and paired well with fried jalapeño, fried olives and zucchini! For main, we shared Margherita pizza ($10 for HH) and squid ink pasta from their main dinner menu! Pizza was delicious and such a good bang for the bucks! Pasta was great but thought the portion was a little small considering the dish is $27 and a lot of the clam shells came empty :/ overall, the ambience was great and would love to see more dishes to be added to the happy hour menu! The quality of food at Piatti fluctuates based on who the most current Chef is. As of now (August 2025), the food is FANTASTIC! It is true that the food can be so salty that it is inedible. However, it seems the chefs have heard the criticism and fixed their mistake. 1) the pasta bolognese id really yummy, sauce and meats melt in your mouth, perfectly savory and seasoned 2) Roast Chicken is moist, delicious with tasty vegetables 3) Salmon Piccata is not fishy at all, with lemony sauce goodness and seasoned vegetables 4) LOVE the Italian Wedding Soup, ordered it twice. HOWEVER, on the second order my soup was missing the meatballs! So the restaurant needs to figure out a way to make sure each soup serving has meatballs read more
