Types of gemstones in the VitaJuwel vial wands for the specially-designer water decanters
    Wendy A.

What a delightful, eclectic shop of so many hand-selected items such as those made by indigenous people including hat bands and jewelry with old coins, scarves, blankets, large photos, and paintings on ledger paper. Quite a unique store. So many items have gemstones! I chose one of many types of VitaJuwel vial wands that fits inside a specially-designed water decanter. The vial charges your water with the gems' qualities to enhance your wellness. The vials are hand-blown glass by artisans from Bohemia. Each vial has different qualities depending on the gems inside. There are 12 sets of gemstones. For instance, the Forever Young vial for the decanter includes green aventurine, blue aquamarine, brown smoky quartz, and clear quartz for qualities including detoxification, cleansing, stress relief, and serenity. There are also gem-infused candles. The soap or hand sanitizer dispensers and glass water bottles also contain gemstones. The gemstone lamps are a must-see--I saw one of purple, green, and white fluorite. The magick book I purchased there by local Tenae Stewart is an interesting page-turner. I also got a beautiful stone plate that was actually carved around an ancient ammonite. The spiritual qualities of these fossils include circulating energy to relive trauma, enhancing stability, deepening meditation, and balancing the body, mind, and spirit. They're from the Cretaceous period estimated around 146-66 million years ago. There's a sitting area with beautiful, large windows to let in natural light and standing bar for wine tastings. I described the type of wines I enjoy and Carly chose the amazing 2019 Picayune Padlock--a Napa Bordeaux Blend wine of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 18% Cabernet Franc. It was absolutely exquisite. Its nose is blackberries, chocolate, and autumn spices. The flavor is well-balanced with a lingering finish of blackberries, plums, and peppercorns. Very drinkable without food. Carly mentioned that this particular wine is even included on the menu at the prestigious French Laundry restaurant. I asked about the great stories are behind the key logo and the name Picayune.

Great wine experience! Staff Julie was very nice, very knowledgable, so warm . thanks. Great pinot noir ; red blend Padlock. We will definitely come back!!!

Had an 11 am tasting on a Saturday and enjoyed the variety from champagne to Cabernet. Our host was nice and curious about what wine we enjoyed. She provided us with a story of how the founder curates and finds wine to make. The tasting room is also a shop. We sat in the front patio and enjoyed the busyness of Main Street. Walked away with a little of champagne.

Gerad was incredible. Very knowledge, friendly, and welcoming. Gave us recommendations for the entire town, and completely described the wine being served to the t. Gerad made our entire trip!

Picayune Cellars is literally my dream come true! I am a sucker for cute little gift shops with handmade items from local artists - Add a magnificent wine tasting to go along with the shopping and I am in my element! Picayune is located downtown in the super cute, quaint town of Calistoga. Walking this street seems so peaceful to me - Wineries, Art Galleries, Bookstores and so many more adorable places to pop into. The shop itself is so wonderful - You will find everything from hand carved wood pieces, hand-made cards {which is my jam - sending people handwritten cards is a lost art}, wine bottle toppers, crystals {also my jam} and so much more. I was in heaven! While we were there, we also enjoyed an amazing wine tasting - Four of their delicious wines were served to us my the nicest and friendliest gentleman {who also let us poke around the store after closing hours - Thank you for that}. He was telling us the story of how Picayune got started and a little bit about the owner, Claire - Who just seemed so rad. Not two minutes later, in walks Claire! My tipsy self, said "THE Claire"! Ha! She was the sweetest and coolest lady {with an awesome fashion sense - The hat she was wearing was on point}! While I held myself back from buying a killer tabletop crystal {that I still think about to this day and kick myself for not buying}, we did leave with a few amazing gifts for friends and some bottles of wine. We ended up having a wonderful conversation with Claire and she signed one of bottles we bought to celebrate our anniversary - We are saving it for our next anniversary so we can indulge a bit. Picayune is a must while you are visiting Calistoga - Even if you are not a wine drinker, go strictly for the items in the shop. Claire and her amazing team will take care of you and be sure you have a fabulous experience!

Tasty flight of wines plus you can browse around the cute little shop while you sip. Not as relaxing as some of the other places we visited. The employee working the day we visited was a smidge tense with our little ones walking around the store.

    Outdoor wine patio

I enjoyed tasting 5 wines on a rainy day. Picayune has an awesome covered wine patio with heat lamps. I especially enjoyed the Pinot and Malbec. Reasonable prices as well. The host was extremely nice and knowledgeable.

Staff was so friendly, backyard "lounge" was comfy, cozy, well-shaded, and relaxing. Nice variety of wines and they even allowed me to order a small cheese platter for myself. I happened to be here on a Tuesday and there weren't many other stores open for wine tastings :( Thankfully this one was and I'm glad. Definitely recommend this spot!

This place is so cute. You can grab a glass of wine while enjoying the gift shop. Or just sit down and enjoy the wine and chat. All the wine that we tried was great. Some of the items inside the shop are a little pricey. We ended up here because we bought the Calistoga passport and this was one of the wineries included in it. If you want a full blown tasting room with great views this is not the place. This is more of a small boutique with wine which is amazing. However, it did not disappoint. We came pretty close to closing time and was still able to try some of the wine. Can't wait to come back.

One name Summer. Love her personality and she made the whole experience one of the best. The environment is a little shop with full of personality and great tasting wine. Comfortable couches and sweets. We got the passport so this was one of the stops that we wanted to hit before our trip ends. The ambiance is very homey and just feels very warm and comfortable. Lots of laughter here and if you want to laugh look for Summer!!

We came at the best time, sat cozy on the couch, sipped on the best tasting (river gauche red blend), and listened to soothing live music.

While Doc & pup waited outside for me I went in intending to browse but ended up finding things that caught my eye to give to Doc for inviting us to celebrate sweet and good T's 4 th birthday celebration. The shop person welcomed me, asked where I was from and how long I was staying. He let me wander the entire rectangular shop's perimeter then zeroed in on the middle cases and tables of goods. As I passed one section of the shop a wonderful fragrance teased my nose- ooh what is it with so many bottles before me. I went toward the shop guy and had to ask. He let me smell 2 products. One I knew wasn't it. The infused pomegranate was $60 and the parfume was $120+ so I selected the artichoke looking or pomegranate little sculpture. They have the most unique cards and items that subtly gave myself a whimsy yes: get it or a chuckle. I needed to get them. Doc was correct and knows me like a book. She said Go in, you like that kind of stuff. Yes indeedy!!! I really enjoyed it in there and so glad I went in.

I came in looking for a journal and ended up leaving with some cute clothes and jewelry. This is a fantastic place for femme fashion. They offer clothes, jewelry, candles, cute gifts, and more. I tried on three things and fell in love with two. The dress I wanted to purchase seemed to have poor adjustable straps and when I asked if there was any other dresses in my size with adjustable straps that didn't get stuck, the salesperson was really sweet and went to the back to grab me one. Unfortunately, the dress she gave me had worse straps and was not my size. I'm glad I checked because I would've purchased a dress not in my size had I not noticed. Romeo holds a special place in our hearts because we visited them a little over seven years ago. During that experience (which you can read about in my previous review - if interested), my wife and I had a grand experience with former Business Manager Emma, who administered the delicious tastings. Fast forward to the present, we looked forward to enjoying a glass of their finest red before finding lunch. Upon entering the walkway, we were enthusiastically greeted by an employee named John who quickly ushered us to a vacant table for two. My wife had a slight reaction to the beautiful flowers that were in full bloom. Out of the kindness of his heart, John provided my wife with a bottle of Pure Leaf tea that calmed her allergies. We told John that we were interested in enjoying a glass of red, in which he quickly ran off and returned with a bottle of 2009 Eugenia Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon doing the swirl and sniff test (sounds dirty doesn't it?), I knew that we were in for a treat. Since we were both in dire need of a meal, we sadly could not continue the party.
