This was my son and my third time trying Picazo Cafe. It's become one of his favorite spots since we moved to Sonoma County. While it's a half hour drive from home, we often enjoy visiting Sonoma and the combination of good options, fresh salsa and relatively reasonable prices has encouraged us to return. Ordering occurs at the counter as you enter, but they're happy to walk you through the menu, if you'd like. We had only been seated for a few minutes before our beverages landed on the table. My son's chai was a great balance between spicy and sweet and my mocha was flavorful without being overly sweet. Their barista checked in with us about the temperature after dropping off our drinks. Both had a nice amount of foam on top! Now, for those looking for a more formal dining experience, that's not this, just to be clear. It feels elevated for a roadside diner with more personality than most of the breakfast places we've found closer to home in Cotati or Rohnert Park, but still quite approachable. We tried the Picazo Flan French Toast on a previous visit and it was good, but the "flan" aspect didn't really come through and I found it rather too sweet for my palate. They know what they're doing with the Huevos and Chilaquiles though! Both come with fresh avocado and salsa. The tortillas stand up to the salsa and don't fall apart. We definitely have more items that we'd like to explore on the menu, plus there are always Mexican pastries in the cases by the order counter. Their burgers also seem to be quite popular.

Loved my experience at Picazo! Breakfast at this restaurant made my trip to Sonoma - the food, the vibes, and the people working were so lovely. I got their chilaquiles verde with chorizo that was mouthwatering with their Soy Macha chili oil. My friends got their Picazo burger, brunch burrito, and huevos rancheros, and we all left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. Their menu is expansive and has something for everybody, with a lot of vegetarian options. Not to mention, the chai latte and iced coffees were full of flavor and creaminess that are things of dreams, along with those mimosas. I will make sure to come back to Sonoma just for this family-run, community staple.

Family of 4 - We stopped here for lunch after a camping trip. Great vibe: indoor and outdoor eating space, big games to play on the patio. The food is pretty good deli / burger / Mexican. it's a good quality food match for the setting, and good food and experience for kids.

I went to Kenwood to pick up my wine membership and happen to drive by Picazo Cafe, my husband said they have the best burger. I quickly made a right to turn around and headed back. This is a nice and cozy cafe. You are greeted with a smile, you order, you get a number and pick your seat. My husband had one of the burgers with medium spice sauce and I had a torta with skirt steak. My husband had an Arnold palmer and I had wine. the wine is a healthy portion and the Arnold palmer was in a big to go cup. We were very satisfied with our drinks. My husband's burger was delicious with onion rings. The medium sauce was very spicy. Thank god he ordered medium. My torta with skirt steak was nice. It looked like they tried to elevate it but the skirt steak was not very flavorful. The fries were delightful. In the back, which I looked through the open door but did not experience, looked very nice. There was a large connect 4 game. I really like the establishment, very friendly and I recommend it.

Had a wonderful lunch @ Picazo. Fish and chips were very good, came with the salad that had a delicious dressing on it. Grabbed some pastries for later, and the coffee shake was killer! And our server was very attentive and helpful.

The breakfast burrito was sadly tasteless and sad. To top it off, it also barely had any sausage. I kid you not, on one half of the burrito, there was literally one piece of sausage. I was probably at least 6 bites deep before I even hit the first sausage. The croissant sandwich wasn't bad though. The croissant itself is well made. The ham is spread evenly through the sandwich. They give a generous amount of egg. The almond croissant was also pretty good too, though it may need a tad more of the delicious filling. They actually forgot to even give me my croissant but were apologetic when I went back up to ask for it. I'm just glad I remembered it at the end of our meal. They have some outdoor seating with foosball, cornhole, giant connect four, etc. cute little are! Clearly I have very mixed feelings about this place so far lol.

A small cafe by the side of the road, serving breakfast, fresh coffee and pastries. We had the huevos rancheros and a breakfast egg and cheese sandwich. There's seating inside and outdoors as well as a restroom. There's parking by the side of the road as well but we arrived by walking. Overall the service was great! Food was delicious and steaming hot when it came out. Would eat here again :)

Although it took a moment to find the menu, I didn't miss the sign: "voted best burger 8 years in a row". So we'd be getting a burger. And a bowl of vegetables (spinach, carrots, zucchini, potatoes) topped with steak ($18) and accompanied by some zesty sauces. Picazo is the sort of place where you order and pay at the counter then take a seat indoors or out. Servers deliver food to your table and, ostensibly, clear the table when you're through though that seemed to be a task for which there wasn't much appetite. Many unoccupied tables were left with dirty dishes atop them during my visit. The burger was as advertised and easily award-winning for the area. It was big and messy and satisfying. Though it comes with fries an upcharge will get you onion rings instead and that's what I sampled. Quite good, all of it. The steak-topped vegetable bowl was good as well, even if it seemed like something one might cook up in their own kitchen using up leftover vegetables from the crisper. Those tangy sauces accompanying the order did a lot to make this dish quite tasty. Before leaving, an order arrived at the table beside me: a huge açaí bowl with peanut butter. It looked so impossibly big and satisfying that I momentarily wished I was walking in right then as this is what I'd order. Picazo is a very casual, comfortable spot to satisfy your hunger pangs. I like to try different places when I revisit an area but I left here knowing that I'd also have no qualms with returning.

Every person I came with was happy with their food! We all thought everything tasted fresh and flavorful! We sat outside after a hike last Sunday and it was perfect! I thought maybe it would be too loud being so close to the rod but it's actually not a problem at all and a very cute outside area. I would post a picture of my food but I ate it too fast because of how great it was. I got a burger and fries and everything was cooked perfect and the ingredients tasted very fresh and full of flavor. I work out here a lot and I'm bummed it took me two years to find this place. My friends and I ordered breakfast here the other day and it was...okay. The veggie bagel sandwich had good flavor but the bagel was incredibly stale and hard. The morning glory smoothie my friend ordered was warm. Worst of all, we paid $6 for a LARGE side of fruit and received a box with a single strawberry thinly sliced and a small handful of blueberries. Very unsatisfying. read more

We arrived at 10am on a Wednesday. I had the All American Breakfast and hubby had chiladios (wrong spelling). I ordered my eggs over medium and they were over cooked and the bacon had been cooked several hours before as well as the potatoes. It was almost like they cooked everything a couple hours before and then heated it up in the microwave when we placed our order at the counter. This was the first time for us to try this place and we will not be coming back. Our next time in Sonoma we will eat somewhere else for breakfast. Too bad the restaurant downtown for happy hour and dinner is pretty good but this place lacked everything! read more

Two stars because they're friendly. But, cut off breakfast 30 minutes early-on a Sunday! Cubano sandwich had no pulled pork, and the ham was processed straight out of an Oscar Meyer package. No idea what the sauce was?!?!??! totally disgusting The club sandwich was equally horrific- same processed ham plus turkey and gobs of mustard. Fries were greasy, and bad. Just bad overall. Four hours later and we still feel sick from it. read more

I get this is first week of school break and things are busy and chaotic. I also understand there's a shortage of meat. When I looked at pictures of cubano sandwich others have posted in the past it made me upset! I had 2 slices of ham, some pickles and cheese. If they are short on pulled pork please advise customer to change order! Making customers pay full price plus 15% tip on a half sandwich is not cool. read more

You order at the door and then keep moving. This place is hopping and the register gets congested fast! Quite the variety.. You can order a pastry and coffee or a fish and chips or a grilled sandwhich or an acai bowl! The list goes on. There is seating inside and out which is good on days that the weather is nice since the place is so small and so popular! A second place has opened they are that yummy! Prices good, parking scary. Right off the busy road so if you bring kids, hold tight! Their coffee is for those who enjoy the darker roasts. Or try an espresso drink, there are plenty of options and no not Starbucks style The place is hole-in-the-wallish and the food is fab. read more

What a breath of fresh air in tony Sonoma! It's off the beaten path but punch in the address and drive a few miles. The food is not fancy but good. I had pancakes and an iced latte and left with a smile. You won't pay an arm and a leg either. Whoever is mixing their music: KUDOS! read more

Came today with a friend for lunch. Ordered the "kaboom bowl" with chicken. I love the concept of this dish - lots of veggies and a generous portion of chicken, and almost no carbs (except for the potatoes). This dish is made for us keto people. The veg were tasty but a little too al dente for me (although the potatoes were cooked through this time). The chicken and sauces were delicious. My friend had a meal-sized salad that she loved. BUT! The FLIES! YIKES! On every table, inside and out, was a shoo-fly fan, which was pretty effective at keeping the flies off the food. Even so, they were flying and crawling everywhere, which was incredibly unappetizing. I was picturing the kitchen, where I doubt these fans are in use. The food here is very good according to the reviews, and I'd love to come back to explore the menu and have some more kaboom bowls. (Note that the prices are super-reasonable -- this place probably offers one of the best values in town.) But the fly problem -- I've never seen this inside a restaurant -- will probably keep me away. read more

Finally decided to drop by and try this place after months of hearing good things from friends. I was not disappointed. Super cute little place with very friendly and helpful staff. Outdoor seating in back was darling. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked & seasoned. Ingredients were clearly fresh :) and the amount of food they give you for the price they charge is a great deal. Will definitely be back. Edit: I've come here countless times since I wrote this first review and I've never been disappointed. Picazo Cafe and Deli is one our favorite places to dine in Sonoma. Great outside patio, dog friendly too. The food is so good from a pastry and coffee in the morning to a hamburger and perfect fries at lunch and all menu items in between. This little place doesn't look like much from the outside, but give it a chance! We stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town. The food was amazing; it was super fresh, full of flavor, and large portions. The outdoor dining area in the back is super cute as well. Prices were very reasonable too. Picazo Cafe and Deli is one of our favorite local stops. Really good cup of coffee to start your morning with fresh baked pastries. Not to mention all of the full breakfast menu! For lunch, the burgers are a destination lunch and do not skip the fries as they are cooked to perfection. They have lots of healthy options, bowls, salads, fruits and more too. A full beer/wine selection of locally produced items. Locally owned and the service is always over the top great. Indoor and lots of outdoor seating. Dog friendly on the patio too. Plenty of parking in front and back. Enjoy. read more

This place use to be great. I got there at 11:40 am and it was so crowded (I guess that's good?). I've always gotten the "giving thanks" sandwich. An amazing sandwich. Not any more. Are there new owners now? The sandwich was dry. The cheese was stale. And I asked FOUR times for sliced bread, NOT a bun. She even had me POINT to what type of bread (what kind of deli doesn't know the difference between a bun and sliced bread???). So I get home (after paying $12), open it up, AND IT'S A BUN. GREAT. I'll never be back to this place. read more

Worst foot ever. I give them 2 stars for the friendly service. Came in today at 10am for breakfast. They didn't have pancakes. Seriously? Ordered kids waffle instead, which I bet was frozen (had it been freshly made from batter, pancakes would have been available too!. It was dry and tasteless. The side fruits that came with it looked pre-cut. The all-American breakfast wasn't much better: the poached eggs were ok, but the bacon was dry and looked old. Same with the toast. The Kids burrito was a bit better than the rest. All the food was served in take-out boxes although we were eating on their patio. Overpriced for what it is. read more

Review for DoorDash order : eta on the order was 30 mins and that became 1.5 hours . Pancakes came with nothing on it ( no syrup or butter) , the toast that came with my American breakfast also had no butter or jam. read more

The people working here are so darling. The most friendly staff. And, the wine was also great! They have great handmade soups and are open for brunch. Be careful when you park though! It is pretty tight to the main road and limited vision. The cafe is very clean and cozy and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely suggest to stop here for a breakfast experience when in the area. read more

Some folks coming to the Wine Country are keen to dine at signature restaurants and later rave about any combination of food, service, and ambiance. Sometimes the praise is deserved, and at other times it seems like another high tab butt sniffing exercise. For Gayle's Birthday Dinner on a recent Saturday night, we had such an experience, although certain service quirks lowered the rating and afterwards recalled the words of an old Peggy Lee Number - Is That All There Is? Contrast this with earlier that Saturday when Gayle and I traveled down to Arnold Drive on the "Other Side of the Tracks" for easily the best 5 Star breakfast experience we have had in a long long time. Picazo is not fancy and the dining room has the feel of an old enclosed fruit stand. At the same time, our breakfasts were amazingly delicious (spicy sausage omelet for her, Cali scramble for me), the service (both at the counter and table) were down home friendly, attentive, and welcoming, the coffee was really good, and the value to price ratio put many of the Wine Country Zagat listings to shame. Our only regret is that we came back for Lunch the next day for the Burgers, and they're closed on Sundays. Will we be back? Hell Yes! read more

Been here twice for just coffee and pastries. Only stopped in because it was on my route towards SF. When driving on Arnold Drive thru the western border of Sonoma this place is about the only quick eats option (If you do not consider the Quick Stop market / gas station across the street as an option). Decent coffee. Overpriced pastries. read more

Had a fantastic late breakfast of chilaquiles, which they generously split between rojo and verde, the latter of which was surprisingly good. My partner had their signature burger, which she exclaimed was the best burger she had ever eaten in her life. Service was friendly and the place completely unpretentious. This made it to our list of places to which we'll return. read more

Oh, man.. now they have hamburgers, pulled pork, fish and chips and more on their lunch menu. And it's all so good! I have had their fries and sweet potato fries, and they are almost as amazing as the burger. Usually when you get a burger at a restaurant even if it's good.. it tastes like a restaurant burger. But, these taste like the summertime BBQ burgers your dad/uncle/grandpa made back in the day. Don't believe me, go try them yourself! read more

My first visit - and while it was "good", "ok" it was not as grand as most of the reviews here. My friend had a burger - she said it was "good" but she'd had better. She did very much enjoy the crispy sweet potato fries. I had the California scrambled eggs - they were good but the portion was overly huge - that might be ok with some people but put me off a bit. But the ingredients were good and flavorful. The side of roasted potatoes were cooked well but nothing special about the spicing. I will say the eggs were topped with a half of a perfectly ripe avocado, nicely toasted english muffin and home made jam - nice presentation for sure. Will they make a reservation ? We are part of Sonoma newcomers group and meet once a month for lunch. Usually between 4-8 people and generally have a good headcount a week or two ahead of time.

I think you might be better off having your get togethers at their other establishment, Kina’s Kitchen. It’s larger and takes reservations. Picazo does have an outdoor area that you might be able to reserve though. Either way, you’re in good hands!

They also have premade meals for lunch dinner and even breakfast. Everything looked so good. If I lived there, I would shop all the time. They have a butcher shop as well. Then with the bread - the way it was lightly grilled to make the cheese melt perfectly...made it warm with a slight crunch on the outside, through the melty cheese to the cooler turkey, tomatoes and other trimmings on the inside. Honestly, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It filled me up perfectly but I didn't want it to be done. Sat there thinking of my favorite uncle growing up in Texas, who, when he ate something really good, would say "well my belly's full but my taster is still hungry". :) It was that good. And again, the sandwich, accompanied by the awesome/friendly service, made the whole experience so good. Will make it a regular stop in my future trips to Sonoma. I'm a sucker for good BBQ and according to a neighboring business owner, you can't go wrong with the brisket sandwich. Yum.

The spiny lobster "roll" croustade was such a fun and delicious bite, with sweet lobster tucked into a crisp shell and a brain emulsion that added a rich briny depth. The venison tart was earthy and delicate, and serving it on antlers made the presentation feel dramatic and playful at the same time. The duck liver and key lime pie was one of the most unexpected combinations of the night, but it worked beautifully, rich and silky with just enough brightness to keep it lifted. Even the fermented rutabaga bread pudding with 100-year balsamic was intriguing in the best way, savory, gently funky, and deepened by that concentrated sweetness. I also loved how strong the seafood courses were. Picazo Café & Deli in Sonoma is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcome with their warmth and hospitality. The atmosphere is cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I loved it so much that I came back a second time during my stay in Sonoma. The pastries are truly out of this world--flaky, flavorful, and obviously made with care. It's clear why this café has been around for so long; they've perfected the art of great food and great service. If you're in Sonoma, Picazo Café & Deli is a must-visit! read more

We went with a large group of about 15. These guys got it right for a number of reasons besides the fact that the food is awesome. 1) You order at the counter - Saves you money. 2) The prices are fair and honest - Great value, EG: $10 burger with fries. YES!. Great inside and outside seating, a fun place. and 3) Their fries are flavored shoestring YUM, and the buns are light and fluffy, Not too much bread. This is how I would make a burger place... Family business that has served up tasty food for close to a decade! Always received with a smile and great energy, Picazo's is a nice stop on the Westside of Sonoma. Prices are very reasonable and the venue is funky, casual and fun! The SalEd homemade dressings used on, well, the salads, are delicious, creative and unique. The Cilantro Chimichurri stands out as a winner; especially on a Kabook bowl. Soups vary daily and are always made fresh. Typically they are all dairy and gluten free. read more

Was recommended here by various people claiming to be the best in town but can honestly say they were not the best burgers ive had. Lacking flavor, but im a french fry fanatic and of course i loved the fries. One of the ladies there wasnt very friendly, i believe the name was irma or somewhere around that. All i did was ask for napkins :( Melody was very nice, i believe she is a manager. So my experience wasnt very good. Maybe later on i will try again but not sure at this point. read more

We have been visiting Sonoma for years but Yelp sent us to this hidden gem this year. It is tucked away in an area you wouldn't find without searching it out . Very small not fancy place by any means but definitely worth the trip there. My husband got picazo burger and fries. We believed they were the best fries we had ever eat! I got the Cubana sandwich.... Was BBQ with ham very unique. We are planning on eating here again before we leave this area. read more

It was Sal the younger one I believe the son. He's married to Karina. This was before the fire. No excuse for rude behavior and from another friend of mine had the same experience. Nasty looks matching his personality. Good luck with that go fund me which I'm sure is to pay their bills and mortgage . Thank you for your response . read more

Very unassuming cafe! Funky decor, friendly staff! The Saulsalito was soooo good! My wife had the Don Chava Burger which I got a bite of! Wow, the Picazo Sauce was very tasty! If I could ask one thing from them: try and control the flies a little more! I know its impossible but the more you can, the better you are : ) read more

Um-may-zing! Family established gem on the less traveled parts of Sonoma! Price points are amazing, food is tasty, and I left full and happy! All that and great customer service to boast! It is a pleasant twist away from the table cloth, fine dining experience that is more typical to this Napa/Sonoma area. read more

They change all the menu I'm sad, they don't have my fav sandwich anymore they put new food try the Santa fe salad the dressing is so bad . They were rude when I ask why they changed the menu. I don't think I will back. Sorry maybe I will just for my coffee and my jalapeño turnover. read more

It's incredible how many good reviews they have, I can't deny that the food is good. but the service is horrible. It's incredible how they don't care about you as a customer, and their attitude is so disastrous. But I will give 3 stars only cuz the food was good . read more

If you can find a better burger for under $10 or just period!!! please let me know! I got my choice of cheese, there is wonderful sauce they call Picazo Sauce, and just a great balance of flavors!! And guess what else??? The fries come with it! Lawd have mercy! read more

I went a few days ago the service was bad literally rude. I didn't leave because my sister was hungry, and she wanted to eat there. The food saved them. They should have doordash so let's avoid that kind of attitudes anyway I like that they are back in service read more

Every time I go, its amazing! I love everything I have had on the menu, the service is quick, the staff is super friendly and the food is amazing! I mostly go for lunch and all their sandwiches are great! I will keep coming back here as long as I can!! read more

I like the new decoration it look nice, pretty . Went to Today we enjoyed a lot they really change the menu, they don't have anymore the sweet fresco salad no more , no waffles , I miss my untraditional sandwich. I will back to try more food read more

Amazing food here from their burgers to sandwiches and coffee! Had their bacon n blue cheese burger which was stellar. Nice outdoor seating in the back. This is a low key, mom n pop type deli; not fancy but great where it counts! read more

Visiting up North, specifically Wine Country, there are always cool new finds! This was ours! Delightful pastries that are baked their daily, delicious Latte's, and OMG Chilaquiles. We will come back here on every NorCal visit. read more
