Blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese Cinnamon coffee
    Kary A.

Cute little bagel shop in Sonoma. It has been around forever and so loved by locals and tourists. Staff is always so friendly and helpful with ordering. You walk in order pay and go sit down if you are eating there and they will take it to your table. If you like coffee try their coffee with cinnamon it is delicious and they have free refills while you are there. I got a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese toasted. It was so good and I love that they have different cream cheeses to choose from to keep it fun and different. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

This place is located in a shopping center so parking is easy and accessible. It is a small mom and pop shop that serves bagels, coffee and breakfast sandwiches. When I went in the morning, there was no line and the service was relatively fast. The triple double coffee was just OK. I got the dude bagel sandwich and it was quite refreshing. There are people from all walks of life that come here. Only one restroom!

Lox special: toasted bialy homegrown bagel, herb cream cheese, capers, sliced roma tomato, thinly sliced red onion, smoked salmon, (lox)!

Homegrown bagels deserves 10 stars. I've been visiting this quaint establishment since they opened. They are the only bagels besides my own, I consider delicious. The Staff are busy and efficient. The service is excellent. The line is usually out the door but don't let that scare you. It moves fast!

Went in on a Sunday afternoon, wasn't very busy but definitely had people eating in the outdoor patio and in the inside. It's a cozy bagel shop with a lot of history it seems! It's a place I'd recommend for brunch or breakfast. We had the poppyseed bagel bacon and cream cheese and the cowboy BLT with egg on a plain bagel and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was hot n comforting and the bagel was toasted and filling, and I'm usually not looking out for bagels! Genuinely a very good bagel shop that knows what it's doing.

I lalways seek out bagels when traveling, because I love them, and they're always a quick and easy breakfast when you're trying to make the most out of your days. I had the Lox Special and it was quite good. The bagel was fresh and so was the lox. My wife had one of their other bagel sandwiches and really enjoyed it. There is no option to eat indoors right now, which I'm sure is a COVID precaution - you just order from a "window" and they bring your food out to you. There are a couple of tables outside to use. I'm a tough grader when it comes to bagels, but these definitely passed my test!

The Dude on an everything bagel. Yum.

Nick recommended Homegrown Bagels for the best bagel in Sonoma. It was really busy when I walked in, yet the line was so quick, and they took my order immediately. Friendly staff, helped me pick out "The Dude" with an everything bagel. It was the cutest shop and had outside seating as well. She even walked my bagel outside to me. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Sonoma.

There's a reason why there's a line out the door of Homegrown Baking Co.-- it's worth the wait. We took my in-laws here for breakfast before wine tasting and weren't disappointed. We each got different breakfast sandwich bagels, which you can customize to your preferences. The basic two-egg omelette breakfast sandwich starts at $5.50. Add your cheddar, jack, Swiss, pepper jack or cream cheese for an additional $2. Meat choices are bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham and turkey for an additional $2.50. You can also add avocado or veggies (tomato, cucumber, sprouts) for $2. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with pepper jack and chorizo. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. If you go on a weekend, prepare for a little bit of a wait. Don't worry. The line moves quickly and the food is delicious.

This may have been the worst bagel I've ever had. Hard as a rock and tasted like cardboard. The staff was super nice though.

We saw the sign in front of the building which said they had award winning sandwiches, so we thought we'd give it a try. We entered and found our way to the deli counter where we were greeted by a sandwich maker. Once we made our choice--ham and turkey with provolone on crusty white sourdough bread with mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomato, we waited for the assembly. While waiting we pondered grabbing a pasta salad from the tasty looking assortment on the shelf to accompany our sandwich but in the end opted for a container of local California strawberries, and chips (plain for the hubs and oil and vinegar for yours truly). While at the register the friendly cashier suggested a Mexican marzipan style cookie, which we readily agreed to. Lunch was delicious later as we sat on a park bench by a peaceful pond in the middle of Jack London state park. My husband particularly enjoyed the bread. We'd recommend the market to anyone in need of a delicious sandwich and we'll be back next time we're in Sonoma. They also had a plenteous supply of groceries.

This is an old fashion deli gussied up for Sonoma. It gets busy but everyone working here is attentive and even nice. There's a ton of interesting cheeses (duh) and pasties (yum) but I come here for the coffee and Butcherman sandwiches. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches which are large enough to split if you aren't a big eater. Cubano: not traditional but delicious. Ham AND pork sausage. Jack cheese and avocado. Mortadella: with pesto and burrata. Another delicious break with tradition. Even the Arnold palmer (ice tea and lemonade) is good. Years ago, this was our go-to stop in Sonoma for wine and cheese tastings, incredible sandwiches, BBQ, and browsing a lively marketplace. It always felt busy and full of energy. This visit was a completely different experience. The store felt sparse, the cheese selection was much smaller than we remembered, there were no cheese samples, and we couldn't find their own branded cheeses that we used to love. We stopped in to grab lunch on our way home. The sandwich menu is now limited, and you can no longer build your own. We ordered two sandwiches, and while they were decent, they didn't justify the high price. There is still both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice, but the overall experience felt like a shadow of what made this place so special. I really miss the vibrant marketplace where people gathered to sample cheeses, pick up lunch, and enjoy everything Sonoma had to offer. Sadly, we won't be returning. With so many outstanding places to eat around Sonoma, this no longer stands out and, in our opinion, has gone downhill.

The daily special was a Caprese sandwich, and that's what found its way to my table. At first glance, the presentation was rather understated and didn't quite create that immediate "I can't wait to dig in" moment. Fortunately, the flavor told a better story. Fresh mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, fragrant basil, balsamic glaze, and quality olive oil came together on fresh bread to create a classic Italian combination. At the staff's recommendation, I ordered it toasted. The melted mozzarella was rich and satisfying, but if I were ordering it again, I'd choose it cold. A Caprese is at its best when not hot and the tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella remain bright, fresh, and distinct, allowing each ingredient to shine on its own. While the sandwich was enjoyable, it wasn't one that I'll be thinking about days later. What truly caught my eye were the steady stream of beautifully crafted tri-tip sandwiches making their way to neighboring tables. Judging by the smiles around the dining room, those appear to be the deli's signature offering, and they'll definitely be my choice on the next visit. The restaurant itself is comfortable and inviting, offering plenty of seating out front, along the side patio, and in a cozy tucked-away nook in the back. It's an easy stop on your way into Sonoma, perfect for a relaxed lunch without the crowds and a lot of options to eat & drink. Not every meal has to be unforgettable to be worthwhile. Sometimes you simply want good ingredients, friendly service, and an easy place to recharge before continuing your journey. This deli delivers exactly that. And who knows, the next time I stop in, that tri-tip sandwich just might be the star of the show.
