First Piccadilly visit anywhere in over 8 yrs. Sunday lunch around 1P; reasonably busy but waited probably 7 minutes in line to be served, which is quicker than expected. Lots of tables needed to be cleaned but still ample clean seating. I had the fish with crab meat signature dish, mac & cheese and turnip greens ($13.39) and paid for a side of fried okra ($2.59). Everything was plated separately, which works for me. The fish, however, was cold by the time we got to the table, and I wasn't a fan of the crab meat stuffing - definitely had Miracle Whip as an ingredient. All the sides were good and the yeast roll was warm and yummy. Husband got the Angus Chop House Steak (chopped steak) signature dish with green beans and mashed potatoes ($13.39) and a piece of Buttermilk Chess Pie ($3.99). The jalapeno he added was extra (30 cents), but I would expect that. I tasted the meat and green beans. Very good. Husband demolished his plate, then started on the pie. He wasn't a fan, and when I tasted it, it obviously had coconut in it and some other ingredient I couldn't identify - coconut milk? - either way, not the chess pie we expected. Would not get it again. Drinks were brought to our table after a short time and replenished quickly, and server was very pleasant. Whenever I'm in the south , I look for a Piccadilly's. I was lucky enough to find one in the New Orleans area. I was torn between the etoufee & catfish but settled on the etoufee. Our dining room attendant was Victoria. She went out of her way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I'll make it a point to visit there again. read more

I gave them a star for being open on New Year's Day. They answered the phone and were nice. The food was plentiful but just served cold. Food should be served hot or warm, but not cold. It is still an older place. Renovations would not hurt this place. read more

I started going here again after many years because they serve liver and onions. It is so tasty. The only issue is that you have to pick the right day to get it because they do not have it ready every day. It is best to call first. I have gotten other things from there too when they did not have liver and everything has always been very good. I have been pleasantly surprised on my last two visits to Piccadilly. I went for lunch about a month ago- the food was hot and fresh. A good bit of it needed salt/seasoning but other than that was good. The standouts were the hamburger steak and fried chicken. What I was really impressed with was their weekend breakfast buffet. The price is $8.99 per person. This includes an omelette station, a French toast/waffle/pancake station. At these stations the food is cooked to order. Then buffet pans of cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, eggs, eggs with peppers/onions/ham, potatoes, grits, biscuits, sausage gravy, peach cobbler, and fresh fruit. Thanks to Dennis G, who reviewed the Metairie location for reminding me that I owe this place a review. Wow. I can't believe I have never reviewed this place! I seriously eat here probably once a month. Now, Piccadilly isn't one of those places that you go to for a fancy dining experience, but the food is like home cooking to me, probably because I have been coming here since I was a kid. I always get the dilly plate, which is an entree', two sides and a piece of bread for under 8 bucks. You really can't beat that. I usually get the fried catfish, mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli with a soft roll. It's always good and fresh and it always leaves me satisfied. Also, I don't often get dessert, but when I do I get the chocolate pudding. This place is pretty awesome. I know there are people who have never been and would never want to try it, but this place reminds me of my childhood when I would go with my grandmother to lunch. They also have take out, if you don't want to sit down and eat! read more

Piccadilly features good basic home cooking. My favorites are the fried catfish and the fried chicken. Both of these are really good deal if you get them on the dilly plate. Cost less than $10. The sides are OK. Sometimes they can use a little more seasoning. But that's me. I'm a New Orleanean. But do try the carrot soufflé. It really is good. Of course it's a cafeteria so they don't take reservations but everything on the menu is available for takeout. Which is really good if you're sick of fast food. Prices are reasonable depending on what you get. Today I got a stuffed fish with broccoli and green beans and fettuccine Alfredo for sides. Also came with bread and an ice tea. All of this cost me $15. Not a bad deal. The service is solid. The waitstaff is friendly and will come and see about you often. They don't hover but they will probably call you baby, dear or sweetheart. LOL read more

I've had Piccadilly's in 3 states and it tastes the same...homey good. I remember the dishes the most from my childhood, and with each bite it all came back! I had to wait a week for the Turkey and Dressing entre. It was worth it! But I still wish it were offered on other days. And I don't kno of another American Resteraunt that offers turkey n' dressing before Thanksgiving! I also had the string beans - love 'em, and their famous carrot soufflé ( yum)! They offer many options of salads, main course options, vegetables, deserts, and drinks. If you can't find anything you like you will not be happy anywhere. Surprisingly delicious. We were in fact on the way to another restaurant - but we found it closed that day. So hubby drove down Lapalco, and when he saw the PICCADILLY sign exclaimed, "Hey, I love that place..let's go eat!" We got inside and found a friendly staff, and wonderful food. Ric has a bad knee; we right away noticed how helpful the waitress was. PICCADILLY is very accommodating to people who have a physical challenge. She took his full tray, and slowly walked us to a nearby table. Where we proceeded to get comfy, and chow down. I had the chicken, which for steam table fare was amazingly moist and tasty in a thick mushroom gravy. Baked potato with cheese, fried okra, a delicious pie unlike anything I've ever had before. Ric had the shrimp, and a bowl of gumbo. Everything excellent and fresh. Nice crispy salads. BTW, portions are sizeable enough that you're likely to take some home. You will not see quality cooked hot food, fresh fruit, hot coffee nor will you see delicious orange juice. You will see haphazard food and unsanitary containers and rude condescending employees. I wish I could give this a better rating because the food was really good. It was the service that caused the 1 star rating. My sister was in the hospital emergency room and after she was settled in a room, my brother and I decided to get some dinner because we knew it would be a long night. Got there at 8pm. They close at 8;30. right away, the first girl behind the line with a smile on her face said, "we close at 8;30" . I explained our situation and we would quickly eat and leave because we had to get back to the hospital. Every person along the food like literally gave us a countdown. We close in 29 minutes, next person, we close in 28 minutes, etc etc. One even asked if we wanted a go plate! We sat, shoveled our food down making sure not to dirty the table, left our plates & cups on the tray and got the heck out of there!!! And the search continues for a decent breakfast place on the Westbank. I had never been to Piccadilly until this morning. However, I heard that they had a breakfast bar, and I figured, Piccadilly is all about cafeteria-style food... they can't possibly mess this up. It had to be a step above Ryan's and Golden Corral, at least. Not so much. I was intrigued by the omelet/egg/waffle bar. They had one employee cooking food to order, so I placed my order for an omelet loaded with delicious things. Fresh veggies, some meat, and cheese. In the meantime, I went to check out the other offerings. It was a little disappointing. A few different types of meat, some bland hash browns, equally bland grits, salty eggs, biscuits and gravy (still don't understand the concept of putting gravy on bread), and finally, some dried out cinnamon rolls and an apple pie/cobbler-like thing. Oh, and some fruit off to the side. Back to the Omelet, which I was convinced would be the star of the meal. It may have been, if I didn't have to wait 10 mins for it, only for it to be completely overcooked. I was okay with the wait... they only had 1 employee cooking... but c'mon, why the burnt eggs?? I even tried to cover it up with some of the gravy from the biscuits n gravy tray, but that didn't make it edible. Boo. Should have went with a waffle. Then again, the only thing to put on the waffle would have been table syrup. I think I'm going to stick to IHOP in Harvey for breakfast. Piccadilly Cafeteria is surprisingly great. Their fried catfish is probably the BEST in town. It has a crunchy, cornmeal coating that sticks to the fish and never slides off, and it is completely greaseless. It is miles above the greasy offerings and New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood, or any other place that simply coats their fish in flour alone. The side dishes are basic, but I've never had anything terrible or inedible. The carrot souffle is locally renowned for its deliciousness. The desserts are good too. I have been to this location for breakfast before. This is a homey place, with made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruit, your choice of french toast, waffles or pancakes for a set price. The reduction in quality of the offerings this time was noticeable, but the deal breaker for me was the inexcusable customer service. more on that later.The selection of breakfast pastries was non-existent this time-there was one sad muffin on a plate. It was clear that they have scaled back on the kinds of food offered from my last visit, but that was within acceptable limits. However, I placed an order for an omelette with cheese and several types of veggies, salsa, and sour cream. I got an omelette with sausage in it, (I don't eat pork) missing most of the veggies I had asked for. The french toast was wadded up on the plate and evidently undercooked-not touching that. I politely went back to the counter and quietly asked the cook to be more careful when giving out orders, telling him what I had asked for and showing him what I had gotten. Mind you, no-one could overhear our conversation. He then started screaming at me so that everyone in the place could hear him. I tried to go quietly back to my seat, but I just grabbed my things and left. I did not get the food I ordered, an apology, or civil treatment. Obviously, I wasn't going to ask this rude person for a refund. On the way out, I told him that an apology would have gone a long way, but since I didn't even get my food or an offer of a refund, I would I never, ever go back. It's a lot easier to keep the customers you have than to make new ones. Evidently, Piccadilly can afford to lose customers with no worries. read more

This is one of the very best locations. As former Terrytowners, we miss Piccadilly so much. The seafood, the liver and onions, the red beans and rice, and the SPAGHETTI and Meat Sauce are awesome. The chess pie is A plus. I bet Piccadilly caters in Heaven. read more
