It's Piccadilly! Solid food, helpful staff and I love seeing the lady at the register who has her nails always painted so pretty. She is super cheerful and sweet and adds a lot of hospitality to your restaurant as you check out. Now to the food - generally it's all really good and some days you just need a plate with vegetables and hot bread and this location is perfect for that. Fast, casual, good food and nice portions. I typically eat at Piccadilly a couple of times a month - only one dissapointment (crawfish etoufee cooked waaaaay too long) but typically it's pretty fresh and tasty. Oh, one last thing - Piccadilly please go back to frying individual pieces of chicken and not the thigh/leg or breast/wing uncut and cooked whole. And bring back that cranberry jello salad thing that I've loved for years! read more

by far the worst dining experience. we walked in, it being our first time here in 15 years, and we weren't greeted. we eventually figured out where to go and made it to the line. the woman working the line was beyond rude to the elderly man behind me. oh but it gets worse. we walked into the dining room and every single table was dirty. while employees stood around we cleaned off a table. finally we sit down to eat. the food is greasy, unseasoned, and cold. then here comes an elderly woman in a wheel chair. her daughter asks for a table to be cleaned. the employee answers "no i'm not doing it i'm on my lunch break." she says okay can i ask her gesturing to another employee, no don't ask her either. so there they go cleaning their own table. then another group comes and the same thing happing, this time however the manager woman screams at them. at this point im blown away. as i write this every table is still dirty. the manager is still screaming at customers AND employees. and i'm yet to see my "server" other than to sign my ticket. i work in the service industry and i have never seen a group of employees be collectively so miserable and rude. i wouldn't recommend this place if it was the last place open. i'm now headed to mcdonald's after paying $40 for slop. the only person who was moderately bearable was the cashier kay, so there's that. whatever you do DO NOT COME HERE!!!! read more

Back in the day, this place used to be the place to go for good comfort food. I had hopes of eating a good dinner but I was underwhelmed. Even my sister agreed with me this time. I settled on getting a bowl of gumbo and I shared my sister's carrot souffle with her. She ordered the fish special, which included fried fish, French fries, one side and a drink. My gumbo was just okay. It wasn't anything special. The carrot souffle didn't seem as smooth as we've had in the past. It was like they didn't blend all of the ingredients enough. I usually enjoy visiting Picadilly, but on the last couple of visits, I've questioned the cleanliness of the people serving the food. On one visit, I ordered food to go. The lady packing the food placed her bare hand in one of the containers and was about to put the food in it. I had to ask her to get another container because her hand was in it. On my last visit, none of the servers had on gloves and all of their fingers were touching the food in the bowls. I submitted a complaint online and never received a response. I can no longer continue eating here because this type of behavior is starting to look like a pattern. read more

My mom DRAGSSS me here every few months. I used to really enjoy Piccadilly until I grew up and realized it is just OK. The food is typically still warm and there are enough options to choose from. I usually stick with "safe" foods now, such as baked chicken, carrot soufflé, and broccoli. While we are on the subject, their carrot soufflé is the best in my opinion. I've tried a variety of carrot and sweet potato soufflés at other restaurants, but I must hand the crown to Piccadilly for that option. Other than that, their food tastes like basic school cafeteria food--I mean, it is a cafeteria though. It seems like they cater to our beloved elders more than anything, which is fine. Their food is never highly seasoned and, sometimes, not seasoned enough. I strongly dislike their cheese sauces, both for the broccoli and broccoli-cheddar rice. I used to love their broccoli-cheddar rice until it made me so sick to my stomach that I vowed to never return (but, my mom of course...). I narrowed it down to the cheese and I'm not lactose intolerance. The cheese sauce for the broccoli seems watered down. But that's enough about cheese. So maybe I'm biased because I prefer and appreciate nicely seasoned food, and I feel that only a few choices really hit that mark. read more

It's very obvious this is batch-prepared food. Kind of like let's throw some stuff together to fill the troughs and feed the cattle (people). The food was barely warm. Broccoli rice has little to no flavor. Worse than that is the chicken tenders. It's clear they cook them in the same oil as the fish. I don't like fish, and don't want my chicken to taste like fish. The coating is soft and mushy, not crispy at all. They give you 3 generous sized pieces, but they are nasty. Oh Piccadilly - why do I never think about coming here?Their food is good. They are consistent too with a huge variety. They have some regular signature items on the line like carrot soufflé, Salisbury steak, cornbread sticks, fried chicken, etc. They also have daily specials. They are all about portion control, which is fine with me. For about ten bucks, you can have a tasty home cooked hot meal. I stopped by on my way home from work and grabbed some take out. Yes, you have to actually get out of your car; but I'm okay with that. Even though it was pouring down rain when I returned to my car; but that's just my bad luck! They were not very busy and everyone I spoke with was friendly and nice. I opted for the fried chicken tenders with cornbread dressing and mashed potatoes as my two sides. The mashed potatoes seemed like the instant kind. The cornbread dressing was flavorful but a bit too salty in my opinion. The fried chicken tenders were basic, but good. They were homemade. They were likely sitting out for a bit as they were starting to dry out a tad, but hey I get it, It's a cafeteria line. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because they use styrofoam take out containers, instant mashed potatoes, and they didn't ask if I wanted dipping sauce for my chicken tenders. Probably my biggest complaint is the unappealing floor that was so nasty that the grommet had so much gunk that it was taller than the tile in most places. My chicken was uncooked. Asked waitress nicely to please just get me another piece and she acts as is he was in a rush. When she brings out my new piece, there was no lemon pepper sauce on it at all whatsoever.. Chicken is salty. Server is wack. I don't think I would ever come back to this place. I specifically have a crush on these Eastern European girls that work there.. I love their efficient service, not personally.. They come from an Eastern European bloc country not too far from say-Russia, and are very humble. If there is an elder person at the food register they ALWAYS offer to carry their tray. They hustle, never leaving a glass unfilled. Working in such an efficient team using hand signals and such, piccadilly is lucky to have them. In addition they provide much needed eye candy because they are pleasant and friendly to everyone. I tip them everything I have because they deserve and work for it, no "entitlement here". These are the personnel we need in our country. They deserve amnesty more than someone that sends their kid on a train alone from El Salvador. But the food is great (excuse me do you need more ketchup for your fries?) compared to that sloppy cafeteria chain In Texas. They always have excellent food: seafood specials, awesome fried chicken, fish, roast beef, and sides. Sides like macaroni and cheese, collard greens, dirty rice, carrot soufflé, and anything else the population here eats. The cooks know what goes because they cook it every day. My wife met a friend for lunch at Piccadilly Cafeteria on Friday, July 26, 2019; she has eaten the same meal many times before, including with this friend. Both have been nurses (bachelor and master degreed) for decades; my wife finally retired after 45+ years. A few hours after she came home, she became violently ill with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea with a temperature of over 101; she lost 6 lbs. in two days. She has spent years in health care and recognized the symptoms of food poisoning. When she called the manager of Piccadilly Cafeteria this morning, the manager was dismissive and told her to get a physician's opinion, which she will in a few hours. The manager claimed that no one had ever become sick at that site. While that is highly unlikely since the outlet has been there for years, my wife chose not to argue with her that it (a) probably not true and she was lying, (b) might not reflect people who did not know what food poisoning is, and/or (c) might not capture those who did not know how to file a complaint. This lack of sensitivity is unacceptable; Piccadilly needs to know that this quality of product breach will not go away. read more

The food has gotten MUCH WORSE. I have been going to this picadilly most of my life. It's a lot of food for the price. However, if you don't like the food, what is that worth? To be fair, I branched out and tried something knew when I went here last week. The chicken pot pie looked and smelled great, but upon putting it in my mouth I could immediately tell ALL the ingredients came out of a can. Not to discriminate against canned goods because I cook with them, but there are WAYS to mask the can taste. They didn't even try. On top of all this, I usually LOVE LOVE LOVE their mac & cheese. Seriously y'all. They murdered my poor Mac & cheese with sugar. Blech. Inedible. It's still in my fridge at home. I should really throw that out. All in all, I only ate the garlic bread. $6 meal to eat garlic bread. I could get 8 pieces from the ghetto Rouse's and pay half that. My go-to dinner here is usually fried fish, or baked chicken, green beans, broccoli rice casserole and fried okra. Yes, the carrot souffle is like crack but I usually feel guilty ordering a whole dish of it so I just steal bites from my son or husband. There is also a nice assortment of pies and cakes at the end of the line. This place is usually quiet, unless you run into the after-church dining crowd. The food can be "OK" to "Moderately tasty" but you don't feel like you're surrounded by hipster diners (or waitstaff) trying to look cool, kids can eat for .99 after 4pm, and the service has always been friendly and attentive in my experience. Favorite dish is the Pecan Crusted Catfish, with Carrot Souffle (Man beats the dickens out of Sweet Potato Casserole) and a steamed veggie. Get in, eat, get out. I might just ruin all my reviewer cred right now, but Picadilly has equivalent or better food than a lot of "real" restaurants. Where else can you get a gigantic plate of well-seasoned fried catfish, a steaming bowl of awesome crawfish etouffee, a heap of tasty-sweet carrot souffle, and a Barq's red creme soda for less than $20?! It's a diamond in the rough for homesick ex-pats and even new visitors, who are probably too busy getting ripped off by French Quarter tourist traps to know it's out there. Last time I was there on Valentine's Day with my gay BFF, which was in itself hilarious. They definitely won't get any points for shi-shi decor or enthusiastic waitstaff (it is, after all, a cafeteria), but the food is solid enough to blow away any pricy attempt at Nola-food or cafeteria fare outside of New Orleans. And it's just as awesome as I remember it being in my teen years in the early 90s... Long live the Piccadilly! read more

4 Stars for the Piccadilly Cafeteria's All-You-Can-Eat weekend breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The best news is that they have a station where you can have made-to-order fried eggs or omelets choosing options of cheese, bacon, ham, mushrooms, onions etc, both cooked the way you prefer. You can also order waffles, pancakes and french toast or select your bread option for the nearby toaster. The buffet line offers bacon, sausage patties, sausage links, hash browns, grits, cheese grits, scrambled eggs, homestyle biscuits and country gravy. In other areas you can serve yourself to cinnamon rolls, fruit, drinks and a selection of small boxes of cereal. Their buffet also includes juice, whole milk and coffee. Everything is unlimited. All this for only $7.99 before tip. (Seniors $6.99; Kids 4 to 12 $4.99, Kids 3 and under Free) The breakfast buffet is served in chafing dishes in the dining room not in the normal serving line so that they can set up the food for their lunch customers. Most times I also go through the line after breakfast to take out food to eat later since I never cook lunch or dinner on Sundays. FYI: If you have never been to a Piccadilly, they serve lunch and dinner seven days a week cafeteria style. The main courses have prices marked which include two sides from the salad section and/or vegetable section plus a bread choice, or you can order a la carte. The most ordered option is their carrot souffle that looks like a sweet potato casserole. It is so sweet that you would never need a dessert!! I see why most of these cafeteria's have closed around the city. This place serves school grade food with no taste in which every looks to have been made from a box and pre-packaged. The only thing worth eating here is the carrot soufflé.
