As soon as we entered we were greeted so warmly by the hostess. We were seated quickly as well. We started off with raw oysters of course. They were a lot larger than the oysters I'm used to back in Maryland but the taste was similar. They were nice and fresh, a little gritty, but that comes with the territory sometimes. We also got the fried alligator and it was so much better than the fried alligator that we had at Mulate's. It's was fresh and crispy. The sauce that it came with was good too, but I'm always gonna go for the Louisiana hot sauce. We also both got a cup of seafood gumbo. It had the perfect dollop of rice in the middle. It was savory and full of flavor. For drinks I got the prickly pear mojito and my boyfriend got a margarita. We really enjoyed our lunch here.

Came to Acme for lunch today it was amazing! The service was fast and food was great. I got the Cajun hush puppies and the seafood salad. Both delicious!! The vibe is very relaxed and casual. I recommend mixing the balsamic with the ranch for sauce on the salad. Will definitely be back

I've been to other Acme locations before but this one location absolutely hit. This is the place to go to in Nola if you're looking for fried seafood and oysters. I absolutely loved their seafood platter which includes fried shrimp, fish and oysters and includes two sides. I really liked their rice and beans and jambalaya rice. My boyfriend got the soft shell crab so we shared that and it was the best. We started off with raw oysters and oyster shots and that's the way to go!

I have visited this bar/grill many years ago and it left a great impression that I had to come back but this time with my daughter. We were not disappointed. We were in town for the Sugar Bowl, #HottyToddy, and were just staying down the road so we decided to grab a bite before the game. We split the oysters, The daughter had the salad and I the fish dinner thinking she would want more. I was so wrong! The oysters came out and they were seasoned to perfection slightly grilled, covered in Parmesan, garlic and butter, we could have eaten a couple dozen they were so good and as I remember. The daughter's salad was HUGE! With a lot of large grilled shrimp, she couldn't finish the entire plate but said it was the best she had ever had. The fried fish came out with 3 large fillets lightly battered with hush puppies and sweet potato fries. The fish was perfect! I could only finish two of the filets. We both loved the sweet potato Fries and we each had one hush puppy that was amazing. If you're looking for some great oysters and a lot of food for your $$$ ACME Oyster House is your place!! We will definitely be back!!

I have heard things like don't eat at chains but I am here to tell you this place is fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious every time. I have tried chargrilled oysters at a lot of places and this is by far the best. The gumbo is delicious and I wish I had room to try the captains platter. I sure will next time. That looked amazing! But the oysters always bring me back!

Bar was full so we waited about 5 mins for a table of four. Service was pleasant & prompt. Drinks were pretty good. Oysters were tasty & fresh. I didn't get a photo of the fish platter but he was surprised by how little food it was. He's a local & suggested this place. He said usually there's more fish, he had three decent sized pieces & fries. Restaurant seemed cleaned. Plenty of space in the dining area but the tables were tightly arranged. Overall a good experience.

If you are near any open body of water, then seafood is often the name of the game. And when you're in the Big Easy, you can find that special New Orleans twist to any number of seafood dishes. Acme Oyster House has been doling it out since 1910 and they have their game on lock. Whether you fancy shrimp, fish, or their namesake oysters, just know that you have lots of options to choose from. The flavor combos are varied and sensational, and every one of the sides that I have tried absolutely complemented my seafood dish. One of their hooks is the po-boy menu, and you can get one of those in just about any fashion you like. Understand that a po-boy is generally a fairly big sandwich, so they have plenty of options for a half po-boy and a side dish and that is usually a solid meal. For me, it's either a side dish of red beans & rice or some gumbo, depending on the weather, a good fried shrimp po-boy, and I'm a happy camper. Handy tip: add a side of hush puppies because they're worth the indulgence. Service is friendly and quick and the grill is pretty much right in front of you if you're in the front side of the house. Turnaround time from order to table service is generally very quick and my dish always gets there hot & fresh. There is plenty of space inside and the ambience is very casual with most everybody enjoying a good time. You can even sit on the covered patio, which is a couple of steps down from the main dining room, and you can enjoy your food with a little extra light. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great dining choice in Metairie!

A favorite every time I'm in the New Orleans area. Amazing chargrilled oysters. But they also have other great options with amazing taste. I would say the market value for a dozen oysters is $30. Today we ordered our usual dozen chargrilled oysters and a cup of Chicken gumbo. But the gumbo was so good we ordered another bowl size of chicken gumbo to the order. . Lol Service is quick and restaurant is laid back with typical Cajun decorations. Overall price was about $54 including tip.

I'm happy to say I stepped outside of the norm and ordered the Fried Crab Claws! They are absolutely delicious As you can see, there's an ample amount! It's large enough to share or have as your entree. The sauce has a nice horseradish kick to it! I highly recommend

Now this is a great sized oyster!

My last visit to this location wasn't the best. I sat at the bar. It was cold, the stools were too short for the height of the bar, and the oysters were tiny. I decided to give it another try sitting at a table. The experience was like night and day. My server was attentive and knowledgeable. The oysters were plump and delicious. The appetizers and dessert were satisfying. Until next time...

Chargrilled oysters...we ended up ordering 2 dozen!

Went a few days ago with family and had a great time! Ordered chargrilled oysters, boudin eggrolls, and a side salad. Everything was fresh and made to order. Had a little wait, but it wasn't bad. Only thing I would have changed is added a few more bread slices for my oysters! Would definitely come back again

    Christopher A.

Had a good experience here. There was a line to get in but it moved quickly. The prices were reasonable for the area that its located in. I got half a shrimp poboy and a cup of gumbo. Both were very tasty. Also had a broiled oyster from my friend and it was really good too. The service was average. Would go here again.

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.

Bryan was our server and he was friendly and had great recommendations. I did the Reveillon which was 4 courses and I enjoyed it. We ordered a dozen raw oysters ($18.95), a shrimp cocktail ($14.95), a bleu cheese wedge ($9.95), and a side of jambalaya ($6.95). The oysters were good, and the jambalaya was good as well--both definitely enjoyable. The biggest issue was the so-called "jumbo" shrimp cocktail. They were definitely shrimp, but definitely not jumbo. The flavor was nice, but it's almost a crime for a seafood restaurant to label these as jumbo. They looked more like 35/40 count at best, maybe even 55/60. That was a letdown. The bleu cheese wedge was very good, but we were a little disappointed they wouldn't chop the wedge for us. Not a huge issue, but it felt like a pretty simple request. All in all, it was a decent meal. Some good items, some disappointment, and overall a perfectly fine experience, just not one that really stood out.
