We wandered in here while visiting the town and were surprised to find such an excellent thin crust pizza. The guy behind the counter though, had less personality than a dead fish. I watched as a few other people walked in, to see if it might just be a chemistry thing, but he was the same with the other few people that walked in the door. It's a shame, because it left a bad taste in my mouth. Being rude and unfriendly is not cool in my book. read more

Wonderful smells on this side street make you stop what you're doing... If you're looking for a crossover between NY & artisan....and you're in Snohomish... Don't pass this place by. Decent menu, and beverage selection. Great casual drinks plus pizza spot w/ outside seating. Great crispy crust. Generous perfect toppings. Reasonable 18" combo $24 before tax. Small quaint but classy place with content customers, and efficient waitstaff. Can't tell if they're happy. Idk, they look busy with a nose to the grindstone. There are happy regulars who cheerily point out suggestions. Wood fired pizza. It's a nearly perfect pie...it could be a smidgen thicker on the crust, but I've been looking for a crust that reminds me of Oregon pizza houses w/ thin crispy but gooey cornmeal bottoms. You've just found the best pizza in Sky Valley /Snohomish. This is 5 x better than Brava's Pizza or anywhere else. Haven't tried Cathouse Pizza, yet, though. Why no one specializes in NW style anymore is interesting, but this is the closest and best qual. and price etc. You won't be sorry. I'll be asking for a few 'kicks,' to specialize mine. Making the sauce xtra-spicy w/ add garlic and a hint of anchovy paste. If they don't frown on special requests i'll see about thickening the crust by one half just so the woodfire doesn't make it seem like super thin flatbread from an Indian tandoori claypot. One or two spots had worn thin from the fire. Don't confuse the picky nature - as a critical thought on this pie...it's THE BEST PIE I've been able to find at all on the whole Eastside. I'd never been to Snohomish until yesterday, but this place would make me come back. We were in town for my son's birthday party at the "bubble soccer" place and wanted a pizza joint to eat afterwards. All the reviews on the Internet pointed us here. The pizza was great. Are you kidding me? This place is such a gem in the Snohomish restaurant scene. The owner/chef comes out to your table to not only check on your foods and experience but also genuinely wants to know about you as his patrons. The young woman who served us was lively, personable, exactly the type of person you want working in your restaurant! Great hire. We gorged ourselves on two large pies and a very delicious house salad with a homemade dress the chef said people try to replicate at home to no avail! I'm sorry Snohomish but this was the most boring pizza I've ever had. My husband was so happy to bring home pizza from a new place until I took my first bite. I think someone forgot to put anything but cardboard in the crust. Yes, it is thin crust but flavorful and New York style it is not. Another thing - please do not place dried tomatoes directly on a pizza before baking without bathing them in at least some olive oil. I'm still digging the tomato leather from my teeth. The only thing going for this pizza is the variety and coverage of vegetables. You do a good job at giving customers variety. Hopefully you can do a better job at crafting crust. read more

Always a great experience here. New to the area, this was a great find!!! The pizza was amazing served just the way we liked it, hot with all fresh ingredients and the staff ( only 2 of them) were pleasant and attentive. The place was super busy, they even had live music. The bartender also the server, kept our drinks coming while serving other tables and cleaning tables. The owner who is the guy making pizza, came to the table to be sure we liked everything. OK, so maybe my expectations were too high - I read the menu and the NY Style pizza with the great reviews, that was a mistake. It's NO WHERE NEAR NY style pizza! How do I know, from decades of eating NY pizza, in Brooklyn, NY where I grew up. This pizza, not bad, was like eating thin pita bread with toppings. It's nothing like NY style pizza crust - so adjust your expectations. 2nd issue: even with a 14" - 9 topping pizza, my wide and I were still hungry when we ate the entire thing! That's something we don't normally do, but this pizza did not leave us satisfied. We then figures that's why we saw these humongous salads on people's tables. They must have eaten here before and knew. So, the pizza was OK, not bad, not great, just average. The 1 server, bartender, all-around everything was very busy and polite. Restaurants have good days and bad days, employees have good days and bad days things get forgotten sometimes but nothing is perfect. I look at restaurants: owners, cleanliness, cost, competency is the product superior. Reviewers stand on your feet for eight to ten hours churning out large quantities of food and at end of day get smashed or blessed by customer reviews. If you don't like the food, don't go back. if the prices are too high, don't go back, if you had a bad experience Don't GO BACK. quite simple. Did you get food poisoning? report it to health department but make sure it was not your own cooking first. cooks with minimum experience know when food is bad and toss it, don't get sick on your own cooking and blame it on others. Pizza was perfection, excellent establishment I'll return and be their best regular customer. read more

After an insanely horrible day, my sister took me to get a drink. She was the designated driver, so I got a tad bit high and a tad bit buzzed. As we strolled down through 1st, pondering the day and trying to figure out how to deal, we came upon the sidewalk sign that says "pizza by the slice". What better way to stuff your feelings down, uh I mean face, than with a slice of pizza? As we walked in we were greeted by a small bar, a pizza showcase, and a myriad of seating options. We walked up to the pizza showcase and ordered a slice of cheese pizza a piece. They threw the slices in the oven, put them on a paper plate, and away we went. No muss, no fuss, no frills. Just the way I like it. We continued our stroll to the car, got in and took our first bites. OMG! For the first time that day there was nothing but silence. It was so good, for about fifteen minutes the day just slipped away. The pizza here is the kind of good that causes you to have a discussion about the best way to hold your slice, so you don't lose any of it. The pizza is so good that I ate the crust, I NEVER eat the crust, not even thin crust. There really are no other words to describe the pizza, but there is one letter you could use, mmmmmmmmmm. It's a place that I'll definitely be visiting again, soon, and often. read more

Pizza had amazing flavor a little on the greasy side though! Owner very nice to talk to ! server was more interested in smoking out side and chatting with her friend then taking care of her customers!! Didn't wash her hands after smoking and stunk like cigarette smoke not at all impressed :( later while we were still eating her family came in with food from home at ate at bar talking very loudly about stuff I don't want to hear while eating dinner not at all professional and a good way for a Business to fail I hope the owner realizes this before it does! Meh. House salad was good. I could have just eaten that and been satisfied. Pizzas were soggy, very oily and the sausage was of poor quality. tasted like sausage on Tony's or Jack's frozen pizza. Part of pizza was missing the outer crust like a New York Style pizza has. Glad we tried it and can now cross it off our list. Won't come back though. read more

There are a lot of 5 start ratings..I am surprised because there is a lot of room for improvement..No way is this close to 5 or even 4 stars. We went there for a beer and a couple of slices..I wasnt expecting much. The bartender/waitress was outside in view of the front door once as we arrived and once about 10 min. later sucking on her ciggarette. She came back in and didnt wash her hands. She was very friendly and helpful and paid attention to the table. After a while she was sitting in the front of the bar with a customer while eating her own food. The pizza has potential with some small fixes..first of all having been to NY and NJ a massive amount of times this place is not even close. I saw plain cheese and sauce in the slice rack(not my favorite but a great test for those claiming to be NY style)..I went with one slice of the Jalepeno and pepp and a slice of the basic cheese/sauce. I folded the basic slice in half in the traditional way and two things jumped out..One..the sauce needs help..bland. The cheese was very scarse and just didnt have the fresh creamy texture that a good NY pie would have. The other slice was better. Three slices and two beers came to about 30.00 plus tip..I am not really finding much for NY style pie in WA. The pizza cook was very nice and delivered to the table as the waitress/bartender was outside puffing away. I think the by the slice is over priced for what it was or wasnt in this case. We go by the three strikes and your out rule..One strike on the first visit...wife wanted all three at once! I would try it again but it doesnt have a look of success. TD read more

I had been here a few times before for the famous (and delicious) fresh squeezed jungle juice, but on Valentines Day we came for a quick impromptu dinner and the pizza surpass expectations. Everything is fresh, the dough and sauce are made fresh and all of the toppings are fresh as well. The pizza was delicious! Worst service in Snohomish!! We went in Saturday afternoon for a few slices and the place was empty. The one employee working was making fresh-squeezed juice and motioned us to the slices. He then continued making juice for an empty restaurant while we waited over 5 minutes, he even cleaned the bar (an empty bar) before helping us with our food. I don't mind waiting when a place is crowded, but this was just lazy. Then he gave me the total price for our 3 slices: $11.45. I was told slices were $3.50 each, a little overpriced for the small portions served. I then considered buying a whole pie instead and asked what the prices were, and the reply was "All kinds of prices." He wasn't interested in helping or selling more pizzas, and acted as if the customer was a burden. The pizza was fine, but definitely not worth $3.50 a slice. And the attitude was unnecessary. I then noticed the prices on the menu were $3.50 for a combo slice, $3.25 for pepperoni and $3.00 for cheese. So I told the employee I thought I was overcharged, and he replied, "Nope," and just stared at me like I was not welcome. I said, "But the menu says...". And he just said, "The menu's wrong." No idea if he is scamming $.75 off me or the menu is outdated, but either is inexcusable. That was the worst overall customer experience I have encountered. I won't be back, have told others in Snohomish, and even joined Yelp to make sure others don't make the same mistake. read more

We hit Piccola for some slices before a ride down the Centennial Trail on a February Saturday afternoon - after an indifferent reception at the Snohomish Bakery across the street. SO happy we did ... excellent slices with memorable thin crust (husband from NJ and approved) . Fresh toppings (try olive + sausage ! ... tho my fellow eater liked the just-plain-cheese). And a welcoming guy behind the pizza oven. We will be riding the trail a lot this year to prepare for STP - and Piccola Pizza will be part of our training. No drinks before the ride - but ate sitting at the small bar and look forward to drinks next time. Do not miss the collection of Seahawks hats behind the bar! read more
