Makes a difference when you walk in and feel welcomed like that. I ordered a Spanish latte with oat milk and a Kouign Amann with lemon crème. The latte was really smooth and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. And that Kouign Amann... wow. Super flaky and buttery, and the lemon crème gave it a nice fresh kick. A simple little coffee and tea shop that has a variety of drinks from coffee based to tea and matcha. There are a few seats inside and outside here and parking Ibarra is pretty big. Wanted to try their match's since they looked very good so I got the iced matcha with foam and egg pudding and a milk tea with egg pudding as well. I had been here once or twice before when it was doing business as Summery Coffee. I am not a huge coffee drinker, but every once in a while the craving hits. I tried the Iced Spiced Caramel which is comprised of Five Spice, Caramel, Vanilla, Espresso and Milk. It was a very smooth blend, and the five spice, while present, did not overpower the caramel flavor. Alongside the coffee, I also tried a couple of the petite treats. As of this date, they were offering BOGO on the sweets. So I tried the Pumpkin Spice Cookie and the Cinnamon Pull Apart. I had both items slightly warmed (definitely recommended!) Then pumpkin cookie was the perfect item to accompany the iced coffee, and the flavors complimented each other quite well. The Cinnamon Pull Apart was a stand alone in its own right. The warming of the bread caused the Cinnamon and sugar on the top to caramelized just a slight bit, offering a nice crunch when eaten. The center was soft and moist, and delicious! The young ladies who waited on me were very friendly and welcoming. Two of the four tables inside were in need of a little attention, but otherwise the area was clean and presentable. read more

3 words. GET THE BAGELS. They really do hit the spot. My friend ordered the "lox smoked salmon" and loved it! (cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, capers, & dill) If you're like me and not a fan of lox, I suggest the "Garden". ( same as Lox but swap the salmon for tomato and cucumbers) IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. Everyone inside was enjoying their drinks! They have coffee- including Vietnamese if you want some extra energy -matcha, tea, boba drinks, lemonades, slushes, & refreshers. This place replaced Sunmerry. They have a pretty extensive menu and food too. The inside has seating now which is great. Chill vibes for sure but a little warm inside. It would be nice if the store was cooler especially on a hot day! Their matcha drinks were pretty good except I asked for less sweet and it was way less sweet. I got the lavender matcha which j thought was OK. The strawberry matcha tasted better to me...I would recommend getting the full sweet since it seems like baseline isn't that sweet to begin with. My son really liked the strawberry milk and I did too. It was a good refreshing strawberry taste - a little sweet but still a great non caffeinated drink for the kids. Stopped by Piccolo Coffee and ordered the Matcha Creamtop. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The matcha flavor was barely there and tasted watered down, which made the drink feel more like a lightly sweetened milk than anything with actual matcha in it. The cream top itself was the one redeeming part being rich and smooth, with a good texture that added some much-needed flavor to the drink. I asked if they could adjust the drink or add more matcha, since it was noticeably bland. Instead of offering to remake it or explaining the situation politely, I was told it would cost extra for more matcha. That in itself might have been fine if it had been clearly stated somewhere on the menu, but there's no option listed for adding extra matcha or customizing the drink in that way. What made the experience worse was the tone of the interaction. The staff came off as dismissive and uninterested in hearing feedback, which made it feel uncomfortable just to ask a basic question about the drink while all the other customers in the store watched and noticed the staff interaction. The shop itself is nicely designed and has a clean, modern look. It seems like a good space to sit and work or catch up with a friend, but that doesn't make up for the inconsistent product or the lack of basic customer service. Looking at other reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one who has had hit-or-miss experiences with the matcha here. Piccolo Coffee replaced Sunmerry Coffee, which is not surprising if they are the same owners. This was the first time ever that I tried a place that was featured by an IG "influencer." Since my friends and I love coffee, we wanted to try their coffee flights. I'm not usually a cold coffee drinker, but their Craft Coffee Flight is only offered "iced," so I asked for less ice. Due to less ice, they noted that it would be more milky, and that it was. I usually do not drink coffee fast enough (because I like to savor it) so I don't like it watered down by the ice before I'm done. Craft Coffee Flight (1.5 espresso shots in each) Pistachio Rose Smokey Maple Spiced Caramel Cream Latte (AKA Einspänner) We used their plastic cups to divvy out the drinks, which was not perfect, but it worked. We started from left to right, ending with the Einspänner. The coffee flight (plus sharing) was the perfect amount to taste test, as we both agreed we would never be able to finish an entire drink of each of these. I have ordered Einspänner before at a different coffee shop and it tasted great, here everything tasted watered down and milky. I love coffee and the taste, but we could not taste any of the coffee from the espresso shots. We actually did not finish any of our drinks, and we shared! While it was an interesting experience to try with friends, I don't think I would return for their coffee. There was another group that came in after us that also tried the Craft Coffee Flight, but I don't think they finished their flight either. The coffee flight is more hype than taste. With the amount of individual coffee shops popping up here and there in Brea, I will be visiting the others more frequently compared to Piccolo. read more

We met up with a friend at Piccolo recently and sat there to catch up for a bit. Service was friendly and our drinks came out fairly quickly after ordering. I ordered the matcha cream top and my fiance ordered an iced americano. The matcha cream top was subpar in my opinion as it was way too milky/creamy and the matcha flavor was lacking. I wished it was also sweetened a little more because the drink just tasted like milk to me. The cream top was fluffy, but also nothing too memorable. The americano unfortunately tasted burnt, so I'm not sure where that went wrong. Seating is pretty limited, but the shop is small on its own. More of a grab and go type of place! read more

Cafes just like this one have popped up everywhere in Brea. It used to be called Sunmerry Bakery, but I believe the owner changed the name to Piccolo Coffee to direct itself to a different path. I only ever get the Matcha Creamtop and I absolutely love it! Ceremonial grade matcha, made and poured to order, topped with a fluffy creamtop and sweetened with house made vanilla syrup (according to one of the ladies). A subtle sweetness that doesn't overpower the matcha itself. I would also say that the ham & cheese croissant, warmed, is a pretty good snack. Ladies are very nice and welcoming. Lavender latte was smooth and perfectly sweet so it's espresso forward, just the way I like. I also got an Ube cuffing, which was flaky, buttery and delicious. (Although a messy thing to eat). I guess I had built up some pretty major expectations based on Yelp reviews, but I thought all of the coffee offerings were just pretty mid, as did my husband. The coffee itself isn't anything particularly flavorful or rich-tasting, and when we got the special tasting flight, we thought everything just tasted one-note. We trekked down to Brea from Claremont based on the hype, and we wouldn't do it again. Cute new coffee place! I got a strawberry matcha w/ oatmilk and my sister got the iced vanilla latte. The strawberry matcha uses a puree which I really liked but I wish the matcha flavor stood out a little more. The vanilla was a solid option if you're unsure what to try. It's next to a huge target and a big parking lot so it was easy to find parking. Pricing was pretty good compared to other coffee shops in LA or south OC. Nice pick me up for the morning. Decided to try something new and found this place! They have some interesting choices on their menu ranging from coffee, tea, and boba. Bagels, sandwiches and pastries, etc. Pistachio Rose latte: 3/5 i normally wouldn't choose this flavor combo but it wasn't bad. I liked the coffee content, it was just the right amount of caffeine. Matcha cream top: 4.5/5 the taste was great, it was smooth and creamy. perfect amount of cream. I could taste the matcha but I would prefer it stronger. Lox salmon bagel: 4/5 it tastes as you would expect, i love lox bagels so this was bound to be good. the bagel was still warm and crispy. good amount of cream cheese, maybe needs more salmon. only down side was the added olive oil (not sure what oil they used), it made the bagel drip too much. The space was clean and there's a few tables for lounging or working. It is not overly priced compared to other coffee shops in my opinion. They made our order pretty quick, it wasn't too busy. Overall, i would come back to try the rest of the menu! The flavors seem unique while also carrying more classic options. This shop has a lot of potential and im sure it'll be popular :) read more

This is a cute little coffee spot. There isn't a lot of seating so be mindful of that. Service was excellent. We inquired about the coffee flight and they were very friendly and helpful. My cousin and I decided to share one since each latte has about 1.5 shots of espresso. My favorites were the Smokey Maple and the Cream Latte. My third choice was the Spiced Caramel, and my least favorite was the Pistachio Rose. We both actually liked the Smokey Maple the most and Pistachio Rose the least.
