We decided to share the Chicken Parmegian meal. The dish was not a large portion, but it was adequate for a lunch. It had good taste and presentation. Then we shared a canoli for dessert. The pizza wasn't a standard New York flop. It was quite crispy. But we were still pleased with the finished product. The margarita pizza was the star here, with robust tomato sauce to compliment the flavor. The pepperoni pizza seemed liked they skimped a little on the toppings. It was a clean simple pizza and the extra cheese did give it an extra "+" to make it a more enjoyable pizza, so recommend the extra cheese if getting a whole pie. We were in town for a work thing for the hubs and took the Sky Tram to Roosevelt Island. It was time for food while we were there, so we decided to stop in here. It's easy to get to after you get off the tram - basically straight south from the tram exit (no need to go east or west towards the water). They offer pizza by the slice, which is great because we didn't want to take any back to the room. I had the Buffalo Chicken and he had one of the same and a pepperoni. The Buffalo Chicken slice was SOOOO good. I could have gone back the next day for another slice! The hubs enjoyed his pepperoni slice, too. OH, and we ordered the garlic knots. Also quite tasty! There is seating indoors. LOADS of beverage options, including the adult beverage kind and some fun stuff that you don't see very often. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stopped in here earlier as we had to attend an event nearby at Cornell Tech. I got the honey chicken hero sandwich which was actually decent. There could have been more chicken but I liked it. They didn't skimp on the lettuce and tomato and it had a hint of honey mustard. My wife got the avocado salad with $2 extra for chicken. It was just alright in her eyes. We ordered the chicken ranch pizza and vodka sauce pasta. The pizza was delicious! The pasta did the trick but we asked for spaghetti and they gave us penne. We were in a semi-rush so we didn't complain. Major tip: READ YOUR RECIEPTS. They automatically included a 3% credit card charge and 18% gratuity. Thank goodness I checked the reciepts first because after we gave them our card, they returned it without the original receipt that explained gratuity was included. I've seen restaurants do this (even restaurants I've worked for in the past) to trick undetailed people to giving nearly a 40% tip. I always let my customers know about extra charges like credit card and automatic gratuity - just so they aren't tricked into paying more than they'd like - but they didn't say one word. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the view. I would suggest this place to others but just make sure to be thorough with your orders and the check! read more

Are we still dealing with blatant forms of racism, even in NY but against my better judgement, I had to see for myself and give Piccolo Trattoria a fair shot. There was one customer inside and two gentlemen that were not of color came shortly after I arrived but unlike the reviews before my own, everyone was taken care of in the order they had arrived and my food came out within minutes of my order. I started with the fried shrimp with marinara sauce. The shrimp came with flare and sparked up a liveliness within my tastebuds that set my soul ablaze! Crunchy and Fresh with a nice bite to them, what else can you ask for? This was quickly followed up with my meatlovers pizza. HOT AND FRESH Baby!! The mozzarella had more pull than a tow truck. Cheesy with a subtle hint of attitude and that is what I look for in my cheese. It's not just that the staff is disrespectful or the fact that they charge extra if you use a credit card without even telling you, but it's also the fact that the food taste's horrible. They have over priced everything from the pizz la they offer to burgers and drinks. A veggie burger is for $12 on menu but you will be suprised when your receipt will show $32 for two burgers, a soda and coconut water. Well Nino's can. The pepperoni aren't flavorful, small little pieces and at 3 dollars a slice you feel like you are paying for greasy slice of bread with some fake cheese and meat on it. It was very disappointing. Ugly: The staff. They don't care about the business. They were taking pictures with each other while three sets of customers were waiting on line. One guy was on the phone, one woman in the bathroom. It appeared Hobbs mismanaged and not a place that actually wants to do business. I want to have it again. I know I just finished a meal there and I'm walking back to work struggling to keep my mask on, but I want to have it again. The wait time wasn't too long, time between my order and the arrival of my food was roughly 14 minutes. The edges of the pepperoni slices were slightly burnt, but that might be your thing, because that is definitely my thing. Wonderful waiter with excellent service who refilled my water with a smile, he's been juggling the cleanup and waltzing around taking orders, stay healthy man. Then, we get to the kale and roasted beet salad. The extra kale I asked for came in good quantity. The deep flavor profiles between the orange segments, vinaigrette and cheese is extraordinary, a wonderful palate cleanser. As you fellow foodies know, the hallmark of a good salad is when it serves as a mildly bitter base for you to appreciate the explosion of flavor that comes from the rest of the meal. And the best part is when I alternate between the salad and the pizza to enjoy its best bits over and over again. Every time it delights my tongue, I wash out the sensation with a bit of salad, an orange segment, a bit of water, and then take another bite out of the pizza. Over, and over again.
