I really loved our time at See No Evil. The mocktails were delicious, the service was quick and friendly, and the GF pizza was delightful. We both devoured our food. A great spot after a show!
I surprisingly have never heard nor seen this pizza place hidden inside the subway station and it's a shame I haven't been here before came for an event with a Prosecco brand and to tell you I ate many slices of delicious pizza is an understatement. One of my favorites was the meat lovers pizza. It was thick and fresh out the oven, like biting into fluffy heaven. Would love to come check out this place again for a fun date night !
We had a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. The manager greeted us and promptly found us a place to sit despite not having a reservation. We were tight on time and our lovely waitress made sure we had our food promptly and to top it all off the pizza was AMAZING!
Tucked away in the most unexpected spot, See No Evil is truly one of those rare hidden gems you almost don't want to tell people about, but absolutely should. It is located right in the hallway of a subway entrance, next to a bar and across from a coffee shop, and it somehow manages to feel like a cozy, sit-down restaurant right in the middle of NYC. Don't let the odd location fool you, the food here is outstanding. The Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas are both exceptional, with rich, well-balanced flavors and perfectly executed crusts. Every bite tastes high quality. Also, don't skip the house-made lemonade! The experience is even better because of the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They were all so kind to so many people. From offering to keep leftovers in the fridge until a customer was done at their broadway show, to offering a scone to a young child while he and his father waited for their pizza to be done, it was more than just flipping a table and onto the next tip, it was humanity at its best. Be sure to give See No Evil Pizza a try. You certainly will want to come back again for more.
Had to try because I thought it was so cool that this pizza spot was down in the subway! Also looks really cool inside with a bunch of pop art. The "no hard liquor" was a let down cause I love my mezcal or a nice cocktail with my pizza. The pies are smaller than they look and smaller than a normal brick oven. The flavors were great, super crispy and fresh pizza and the service was also great. Definately worth going for the ambiance, despite the shortcomings.
See No Evil Pizza is located conveniently next to my favorite bar, and it's no surprise that it's owned by the same person. The man that started this trinity between the coffee house, bar, and pizza place is clearly a genius. I have never actually eaten at the restaurant, but have always ordered it at Nothing Really Matters, and the pizza has been consistently good. The ingredients are fresh, the dough is made with love, and sometimes it tastes even better the next day (if we manage to have leftovers). Our favorites have been the margherita with calabrian chilis and the johnny peppers without the sausage (we are vegetarian). I plan on trying the funghi robert eggplant soon! I do want to eat at the actual restaurant soon as the place always seems to be busy and they have ample seating.

I picked this place in the theater district because we had plans for a TV show taping and this restaurant was on some list for best pizza in NYC. Location: convenient location, a little bit hard to find because it's located in the landing of stairs leading to a subway entrance (not accessible for those who need it). Also the exterior signs are obscured by scaffolding. Ambiance: it's a small space with a surprising number of chairs and tables. It has a punk rock vibe with the music and the art on the walls. Go for the food! I loved everything we ate. Arancini balls (good), watermelon salad (amazing), and tucci pizza. The tucci has a thin crispy crust that doesn't flop over, with just the right amount of cheese. Mmmm! Our server was super nice and helpful, the food came out quickly. I thought another customer left their phone but it was a really payment device. Both servers were so sweet about joking about it, that we all had a good laugh.
This place was okay. We definitely came on an off day though. It's in the middle of time square and considering the location, it definitely is one of the better priced options for that area. It's in a subway station, which is really interesting. The issue is the ac wasn't working. The workers were clearly exhausted. We were a bit hungry so we ended up sitting for one pizza and quickly left. The pizza was good, although I know I've had better in nyc. It felt slightly undercooked cause they were in a hurry to rush for the next reservation. Overall, definitely go as long as the ac is fixed! The kitchen is open so we felt very hot and they didn't have a lot of fans.
The Hell Pie was delicious. A perfect amount of spicy. The chicken meatball I did not love. When you cut into it just started falling apart. For dessert, the vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt was interesting. I enjoyed it. The sea salt was the real stand out for me. Not sure if the olive oil changed the tastes much. The waitstaff was very attentive and food was prepared quickly.
In town for work by myself and just wanted to eat and get back to hotel. I'd just had pizza at home the day before but this looked good and was close. So glad I stopped by. Did a strawberry basil lemonade to start which was great even if it was a little sweet. Had the chopped salad which easily would have fed 2. Croutons looked homemade in a good way. Then I did the fungi pizza because I love a pizza topped with arugula. The waiter said it was one of his go-to's and I can see why. Was bummed I didn't have a fridge in my hotel to take the leftovers. Only slight downside was the door being kept open so it didn't get smoky but it was cold so there was a draft.
Please refresh your cocktail garnishes. Our server was wonderful, the polenta was fine (the sauce is the best part) but just really bummed about the drinks. I get garnishes go bad quickly, but just be pickier?

I have been here several times before and after Broadway shows. First of all, their Toast Alla Veloce is one of my favorite starter bites in NYC. The briny sardines pair amazingly well with the zingy caper-mint salsa and soft fresh mozzarella, on a crispy polenta bread. This is THE reason I come back. Another great appetizer is their Ugly Eggs, which are soft boiled, topped with tannoto sauce, calabrian chili crisp, and bottarga. The creamy sauce with the salty shaved dry mullet roe really enhances the eggs. Onto their main attraction. The various types of pizza are interesting, albeit a bit overpriced, especially considering the surrounding environment and view. Regardless, the room is usually full with patrons willing to pay the price apparently, including me. With that said, I like their pizza, but do not love it. The sauce and toppings are fine. It's the crust I have an issue with. Often it's too hard and chewy at the same time. A few of my friends have mentioned the same issue as I have experienced, where our jaws began hurting towards the end of a meal. For that reason, I tend to come here for my appetizers more than even the pizzas. In a busy touristy area full of overpriced mediocre restaurants, this little underground oasis is a welcome addition. The prices may still reflect the area, but at least it's not ridiculous (I'm looking at you Din Tai Fung) and I enjoy most of the food.
I can see why Michelin recs this place. Kinda cool to watch the commuters hustling on and off the subway while enjoying a great pizza and glass of wine. Small but charming place. Will definitely be back if I want pizza before or after a show.
I had such a fun experience at See No Evil Pizza. The pizza flavors were incredibly inventive (definitely not your standard slice) and everything we tried felt thoughtfully put together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I loved our experience here! The vibe is so cool, with great music and even greater service. It was so fun to sit at a high top and watch people going into and out of the subway. The white wine sangria was tasty, but I regret to say my partner nor I totally loved the pizza - it was quite greasy, which made it very wet and heavy to eat. Aside from that, though, I thought the flavors were great - the sogginess just distracted from it. Overall such a fun place to go! read more
I'm not sure why this place has made it onto so many lists, but it was pretty mediocre all-around. In other circumstances I might have found the colocation with the subway charming, but the space is rather cramped and hectic - to say, I was hoping the space would be something to overlook for the sake of the food. To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good. read more

Needed dinner before a show on a Thursday evening and this (literally) underground pizza spot was perfect. My boyfriend and I walked in at 5:18 PM and got the last available table. We shared the hell pie, Caesar salad and tiramisu. Pizza and salad were awesome, and the tiramisu was exceptionally good. They didn't have the soft serve when we went, but hopefully they bring it back soon! read more

Cool ambiance and interior decorations. The pizza was okay, but small for the price and a little too burnt around the edges. It was definitely too hot for comfort in here, so that's something they for sure need to look into. Service was pretty quick, Overall, not a bad spot, but pricey for what you get. read more
Cute hidden out place for pizza, although if you're the kinds like me who likes a plain pepperoni pizza, you can choose another pizza. My husband loved it as it was a blend of good well cooked meats on the pizza. The base is outstanding though!!! If you like your pizzas a little glamourous, this is the place to me, in a hide out place! Service was fun and nice. Ambiance was cute and surprinsingly interesting for a place like NYC. read more

After a long day of galavanting around the city, the wife and I need a place to unwind that was also close to our hotel. Lo and behold, See No Evil was right outside of our subway stop. The ambiance inside is anything but a traditional pizza joint, but it was warm, inviting, and had a ton of cool art. Our server was whimsical, funny and really made our experience that much better. We had pizza between the two of us and Caesar salad, both of which were delicious! If you're staying at the Citizens M hotel nearby, I highly recommend you check See No Evil for a quick banger of pizza read more

Ordered two pizzas to go and wow! This place had the best pizza that had tasted while in New York for a week long business trip. Small pizza joint next to the subway, but had plenty of seating. Everything about this pizza was close to perfect. The guy who took my order was nice. read more

Tucked away in the lower levels right next to the 1 subway station, it could be easy to miss especially with the current scaffolding. But it's definitely worth seeking out! Tried two pizzas - classic pepperoni and margherita. The pies felt like a medium sized pizza with 6 slices, very thin but the flop holds, and the crust is a bit fluffier and well executed. The flavors on both were really good. Also tried their calamari and the batter on this was honestly excellent, nicely flavored and very crunchy - I'm just sad the portion felt smaller. I would say the price is a little higher for the portions overall but really enjoyed the meal. Also their orzata soda is really refreshing, it's like almond flavored lemonade, basically a non alcoholic amaretto sour. read more
Brought the fam to See No Evil to celebrate a birthday before a Broadway show and everyone enjoyed it! Service was excellent and so was the food. Good number of veggie options, decent wine list, surprisingly good pizza, and fun location (inside the 50th St subway station, before the turnstiles). It was pretty hot, perhaps as expected given the weather and location and pizza oven, but cold white wine helped. Tragically the soft serve machine was broken, so the only dessert was tiramisu. Pizza was totally overpriced but it did actually taste good. The crust was good overall. Not my favorite though. The funghi pizza was delicious and fresh. The broccoli rabe pizza was good but the crust couldn't support the weight of it. Overall it was good and tasty I did enjoy the crispy potatoes but I liked the funghi one more. Service was awesome. The restaurant is in the subway station which is super cool. Vibe was also good. Would recommend as a nicer sit down pizza restaurant but it was a bit pricy. read more
wanted to visit a cool pizza spot and this one really caught my eye! navigated to it and was honestly confused because it's a walkway to the subway and there were kids rolling up on the stairs lol. it is a sit down restaurant and it's has a nice calm ambience amongst the chaos of the city. the music was at the perfect volume and had the right vibes for sure. we got seated right away and the menu was pretty brief and we ended up trying the calamari, caesar salad and two types of pizza. everything was good. pizza crust was light and had the perfect balance with the toppings! it hit the spot and is definitely a great place to sit down and enjoy your pizza. read more

The place is small & it's very limited ventilation. I was with a party of 4 & reservations were fine, seater servers were very attentive. Traffic was busy also. Ordered Pineapple Express, meat lovers, sardines toast & calamari. Food was good. Only problem is my clothes & hair drenched in the smell of smoke. read more
Have been wanting to try this place out near the 50th st subway. SO GLAD WE DID!! Had the trecolore salad and the Hell pie. Service was a team effort and appreciated everything about our visit. Genuine team and also offered great suggestions. Small seating area and right next door to the bar Nothing Really Matters (same owner). Will absolutely be back. Great people watching too!! read more

This is an example of Yelpers getting it right. Was looking for a pizza spot while in NY, opened Yelp and saw that "See No Evil Pizza" had great reviews and decided to give it a try. This place serves awesome food with phenomenal service! Cheese Pizza w Sausage - 5 stars. Absolutely delicious, light, and full of flavor. Winter Salad - 5 Stars. Big enough for two, and so fresh and tasty. Love the addition of Gorgonzola cheese, this salad totally works. Service - 5+ stars. Absolutely outstanding! Our waitress went above and beyond and was so delightful! We sat at the bar since all the tables were reserved, and this worked perfectly. You get a perfect view into the kitchen with the chefs making fresh pizzas. The ambiance is minimal, but still has a homey feel to it. Will definitely be back for more great pizza! read more
