Finally back in nyc after 3 years. Tony's was one of our favorites when we were living here, and coincidentally our hotel is just around the block so our first visit had to be it. "Unfortunately" it's just me and two babies and we are jet lagged as shit so we only ordered our go-to ink seafood pasta. Even this is too much for us and we couldn't finish in two sittings. The flavor is as good as it used to be, but perhaps a bit salty for the kids they kept drinking water. Service is as great as always. Loved the waiters and waitresses here they enjoyed interacting with the babies too. If you are first time in town u gotta come here unless u have a tiny stomach in which case this place is probably not for u.
Tony's Di Napoli is packed, loud, and vibrant. It reminds me of the Buca di Beppo franchise, but this is the original family-style type of Italian restaurant. The inside is huge, but it's always packed. It took us about 30 minutes wait to get in. Very noisy. The food is served family-style with huge portions that you can share. We ordered the sautéed broccoli with garlic, veal masala, and the calamari. They came quickly in big portions, which my wife and I were only able to eat half of. All dishes were solid family-style dishes. The veal was a little bit tough. Our server was friendly and prompt. Since this is family-style and normally serves large parties, portions and prices are large too. I recommend it if you have a big party or don't order too much if you have a party of 2 or fewer. Make sure to make a reservation and be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes or so.
May have been an off night, but we had multiple dirty dishes - glass had something brown on the inside lip, food stuck on the dinner and bread plate. We ordered a pitcher of red sangria and it came out white, which they corrected. The food was ok. We ordered: - Spaghetti with meatball - sauce was really good, meatball dry - Rigatoni Bolognese - I didn't love the sauce, but others enjoyed - Chicken Parmigiana - Also a bit dry, but this paired with spaghetti was my favorite
We sat at the bar for dinner before a Broadway show, and the bartender was attentive, putting in our food order quickly and giving us water though he did rush us to leave before we finished our drinks. I got eggplant rollatini, an appetizer but a hearty dish. My mother got the rigatoni with mozzarella and eggplant and my other friend got the seafood pasta. Overall, pretty standard fare Italian American food for an average price point in the neighborhood. The calamari in the seafood was slightly overcooked but it was plentiful with clams, mussels, and shrimp as well. Overall, the restaurant was busy at 5:30pm on a Tuesday and we were glad to be able to grab seats at the bar. I would go again if I were seeing a show in the neighborhood but not for the food itself.
Good food, good wine, and well packed. Food was solid, but I wish the prices to add a protein were a smidge cheaper. The portions were generous and the service was very kind! Next time I'd try other dishes!

We came here with reservations right after watching &Juliet across the street and the only problem was that I the dishes were so big that I couldn't order more. My wife and I enjoy a good meal but didn't research the size of the portions well. Thankfully our waiter guided us appropriately. We ended up skipping the appetizers and getting a chicken parmigiana and a half order of the rigatoni vodka! It was just enough for us. The chicken parmigiana was just right. It's their star and we can see why. The chicken was breaded well and dressed in the rich sauce and cheese. The breading was not overdone and the chicken was moist and tasty. The complimentary bread was helpful in mopping up the sauce. It was my wife's favorite for the night The rigatoni was my favorite and I regretted only getting the half order. I could have had another portion or two. It was the right mixture of flavor and texture. Next time, I'm taking a group of friends here so we can enjoy more of the dishes together. 10 out of 10 would come here again
This place was fantastic!! I initially came here for the half plates but was told they only have them at lunch time. I also didn't realize the dinners are family style, so my daughter and I had SO MUCH FOOD and so much to take home!! I love the decor inside, they have pictures of famous people that have eaten there, our waiter was so great ( a REAL Italian, imagine that at an Italian restaurant lol) and he started singing several times and had the crowd join in. It was dinner and a show! We didn't expect that on a Monday night and it was such a great and different experience! The food was true Italian with quality ingredients and they have great food options. Everything was just delicious! They gave us free dessert too! We chose the New York cheesecake. My daughter hates cheesecake and she said it was the BEST cheesecake she's ever had in her short life lol The prices are great for their serving sizes and it makes it easy to dine with multiple people and share. They also have a photographer that takes your pictures there. You get a free one but can also buy a package if you want. They do take great quality pics! I found this to be a nice and super different touch. Highly recommend. Must try!

The dishes were served family style and I was excited to try a bit of everything. We ordered the chicken parmigiana, Alfredo with shrimp and pork chops. Everything was delicious. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and AG brought out complimentary shots and dessert. He really made the night phenomenal and I truly enjoyed the experience.

We love Tony's. We had the chicken parm, ravioli w. a side of meatballs, Caesar salad, NY cheesecake, calamari, mussels in wine sauce and drinks - all were yummy (& the best calamari we've ever had!!!!) But the highlight of our trip was definitely our bar visits (3 nights in a row) with our most favorite bartender, Bridget!!!! She is the BEST !!!! The drinks are amazing. I loved the Negroni and my husband loved Bridget's drink (gin, cucumber, lemon- ask her for it!). When we come back to NYC, we will definitely come back here - over & over & over again!!!

We ate dinner here after a long day of walking. I made a reservation in advance. Which was good since we were seated quickly upon checking in. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We shared the caeser salad, veal saltimbocca, and the linguini with white clam sauce. Everything was delicious. We didn't expect the caeser salad to be made tableside. I enjoyed the croutons and cheese in the salad. The veal saltimbocca were 4 veal cutlet pieces with prosciutto and cheese over it. Veal was tender and each bite was flavorful. It came with sauteed spinach which allowed me to justify the meal as healthy. The linguini with white clam sauce had a lot of clam meat. It had 4 clams in a shell with large and small clam meat pieces throughout the dish. The white sauce was not too oily and had a good amount of garlic. This was definitely our best meal during our stay. We will be coming back again soon.
Toni Di Napoli is the bomb. Walked in on a Friday with 7 people for a birthday lunch and....gasp....no reservation. Unlike me, if you know, you know. Sometimes you have to ditch the itinerary and go with the flow, and somehow it worked. Shoutout to Marco for taking great care of us. Family-style feast of chicken parm, Caesar salad, fried mozzarella, fettuccine Alfredo, penne alla vodka, and a dessert sandwich cake that deserves its own zip code. We left full, happy, and questioning all future life choices involving portion sizes.

Once again I went to Tony's in Time Square for our Broadway show. Best part of the night was have our waiter Chris again. Some of our dinner is in the photos. The appetizer was shrimp ,baked clams, etc. next was the veal, and penne oh so delicious. Walking in you are greeted with the most self respect & kindness. I understand that they will be opening up a new restaurant in Manhasset Long Island sometime soon. I highly recommend stopping in. read more

My friends and I stumbled into Tony's one night after not wanting to wait hours for a table at Carmine's, and I am so glad we did. I've been here a few times, and I'll be back many more. If you're in Manhattan craving delicious family style Italian food, you've found the place! It does get a bit loud here, kind of like you're at a family's house for dinner over the holidays. I highly recommend making reservations over weekends and holidays. Food and drinks are amazing, and servers are very attentive even with all of the craziness going on. If you can, try to leave room for dessert too. read more
So glad that they were open during the snowstorm! Their menu boasts family style, but they do offer half portions on some of them. Ordered the Garganelli Lobster & Shrimp, $58. Server asked if I wanted the half portion. He said even half portion is good for 2. I went ahead and ordered their regular portion and he was right. I had leftovers the next day! I didn't mind as it was so yummy! They didn't skimp on the lobster nor the shrimp! Staff were very friendly, service was great! They got busy despite the snowstorm! Big shout out to best waiter Rob and his GM Dreni!!! I came here in my birthday, July 2nd. We had trouble navigating and were late, and they still seated us and were so kind. First of all, Rob is so much fun, an excellent waiter, and very willing to go the extra mile for you. When Rob spoke to Dreni, he was kind enough to make a special accommodation for my and his serious diet restriction (since it's difficult to split a meal with him.) we appreciated this so much, especially in a busy restaurant. Not only were these men awesome, but they food was amazing!!!! And the ambience is beautiful and fun. There was also a photographer walking around, which will be framed in my home and made a great gift for my mom. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. read more

Great location with delicious food. We had a simple and quick dinner with a Caesar salad and Chicken Parmesan. Just a couple of cocktails. We passed on dessert since we had work deadlines to meet. 2 drinks, salad, and chicken parm with tip was $127 Family style with large portions. Perfect for pre theatre dinner! It's nested by several theatre. If you're looking for that old New York charm to complete your trip, Tony's Napoli will check that box. I brought friends visiting from Hong Kong and they loved the experience! Our party came right after the lunch rush and right before dinner. No wait, seated promptly. This allowed my friends to enjoy the atmosphere and experience! What we ordered - calamari, nice and crispy - mussels, the sauce pairs well with the mussels - roasted hen, we ordered this based on our server's recommendation. This dish did not disappoint, it was flavorful and tender. The sauce it came with was perfect. - Alfredo, delicious. I feel it's a must order - tiramisu, great balance of cream and coffee flavors. read more

This was our second time dining at Tony Di Napoli - Times Square, NYC, and the experience showed clear improvements across the board. Service was noticeably better than our first visit. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated quickly, which set a great tone from the start. The restaurant was also much less noisy this time, making the meal far more enjoyable. Our waitress really stood out--she was open to questions and took the time to explain the dishes in detail, which was a huge improvement and very much appreciated. As for the food, the huge, plentiful family-style portions remain a highlight and continue to be one of the main reasons to come here. Plenty to share and full of flavor. The ambiance also felt improved, likely because the restaurant wasn't as busy as our first visit--probably due to the nasty snowstorm outside. Either way, it made for a more relaxed and comfortable dining experience. Is not a Michelin restaurant, but this place delivers in fresh flavored plates, with many options and great location. Always our favorite Italian spot when we are in the City! Portions are huge, ample sizing for sharing. Food is always fresh, and we always leave with leftovers. Love the ambiance, and the live singing performance is something we always look forward to. Service is great, and the food coms out quick. The strawberry shortcake family style is a must get! Dining at Tony Di Napoli's was such a fun experience! Walked into this amazingly vibrant, busy homie Italian restaurant and we're sad at this tiny table next to two ladies that were laughing because there was so much food being sat on their table. This is a family style restaurant where you should probably bring 4 to 8 people to share the different dishes, but anybody who has a table of two is gonna be taken home a ton of leftovers or doing as our neighbors dead saying oh my gosh, look at all this food. You must have some broccoli do not order it and then when we got our potatoes, it was the serving for eight or 10 people and we're like oh my gosh you have to have some potatoes we've made instant friends. We came for the chicken marsala because we had heard that it was so good and that's what we wanted. We were gonna go to Carmine's but this was recommended. Oh I am so happy we did because I absolutely love mushrooms. Their marsala is perfectly flavored and stuffed with mushrooms. The prices are good here the wine not so good. The noise levels a little high waiters are fantastic and even though it's a tourist place, this is one of those places I will do a basically premixed, but they will toss the Caesar salad in front of you and serve you irritable. It's a really fun place. I absolutely recommend this place. It will come every time I come to town to visit! There is a photographer that comes around and takes your pictures just like in the olden days or like they do in Italy in Mexico and you do get a free postcard sized photo with the advertised restaurant on there or you can purchase a $25 glass framed cute photo. We came in with a reservation (thankfully!), and wow -- this was hands down the best, most authentic Italian food I've ever experienced. Everything tasted rich, classic, and made with so much care. The portions are huge -- extremely fulfilling and definitely meant for sharing. You truly get your money's worth, and the family-style serving makes the experience even better. Located very close to Times Square, Tony's is a rare, proper service, sit down restaurant near the square and the theater district. If you're seeing a show or visiting the area, and want some solid italian-american style food, stop on by. There are 2 floors to this location, one underneath, and it fills up. Reservations are recommended. The staff are great though, we showed up 30mins early for our reservation and we seated quickly. Our server, Robert, was friendly, helpful, and funny. Food is family style and each dish is large and designed to be shared so you get your variety that way. The rigatoni ala vodka was surprisingly light somehow, creamy but not heavy in your stomach. Double cut pork chops was also a recommend dish, the outer roasted crust combines with a tender inside for a great piece of meat. read more

Portions are huge at this Theater District Italian American joint. It is a large and vibrant space, and service was both friendly and efficient. The menu is designed to be family style and the portions reflect this. I ordered half portions of the Caesar salad and chicken Parm, and I had the leftovers for dinner. First timer at Tonys in Time Square. It was a beautiful ambiance. I ordered the bolognese but swapped the rigatoni for linguine (they gave me spaghetti noodles), so I'm guessing they may not have linguine. I did the half order and it was the perfect size for one person. It was tasty and they give you a good amount of sauce. read more

My friend wanted to see a show nearby and made a reservation here for dinner. Everything on the menu is served family-style, which can be a downside -- if you don't love something, you're stuck with a lot of it. We ordered the veal Parmesan, spaghetti with meatballs, mussels, and the cold antipasto. Unfortunately, the veal was really tough, and the meatballs were super salty -- not what I'd expect for the price. Speaking of price, we spent about $200 for four people, including two drinks, which felt steep for the quality. Service was just okay. The staff checked in a couple of times but honestly felt like they were rushing us out, which wasn't great. My mocktail also just tasted like juice -- definitely not worth the price. The atmosphere is lively in a classic "old-school Italian" way, but these chairs weren't comfortable, and overall it felt more like a tourist spot than a true neighborhood gem. read more

The restaurant was lively, welcoming, and full of excitement. Everyone from the hostess, busboys, to our server made us feel at home. The food, absolutely OUTSTANDING! Prosciutto and Burrata was beautifully setup with roasted peppers, olives, crostini, and another cheese. Extremely generous portion of a juicy and tender cut of steak. Classic NY cheesecake and ice cream for dessert...magnificent! read more

Is this a good choice for a single diner?
Yes. There are a large amount of tables around the edge of the room where one might sit alone. It can get busy, so be wary about what time you show up. Might want to check on getting a reservation ahead of time.
Average length of time for dining- need to be at Madison square garden at 7pm so wondering what time I should make reservations?
I would do a 5:00 reservation to give you time to eat and then walk or cab over. I am not sure how far away Madison Square Garden is away from there. Its near Radio City Music Hall.
So you take reservations for 5 or call ahead seating?
You can make reservations and I would recommend it this time of year.
Is this location wheelchair accessible?
Yes! It's right off the street with a little turn when you get inside, but no steps and it's a wide entrance... enjoy!
