You can't visit New York and not have a slice of NY pizza! We chose to grab a slice at Joe's after we finished touring a nearby museum. Note: there is an entrance for whole pies, a walk-up counter for gelato, and a different entrance for those just wanting a slice. There was a line out the door when we arrived in the middle of the afternoon, but it moved fairly quickly. We waited maybe 30 minutes. And we each had a slice of the supreme. The pizza was delicious! There are several small counter areas where you can eat your slice inside but no table seating.

My first introduction to a real New York style pizza in the heart of Time Square. There was a small line but everything moved quickly. The crust is nothing like any other pizza I've had. Thin, crisp, fresh nothing like a doughy pizza that makes you bloated after a couple of slice. Flavor wise is nothing ordinary, it's the crust that really stands out the most after taking that first bite. I wish to find a close similar here in DFW.

The little things that makes NY unique is where every corner you'll find pizza shops. Aside from this place being famous from the movie Spider-Man I'd say it's one of the better slice, might be best slice around Time Square. I know everybody have their own favorites but this one is the closest to where we were staying and keeping the rotation of pizza going since it's always has a line. There may be a wait but you know that slice hasn't been sitting there for a good while. It has the classic characteristics of a great NY style pizza. You just really don't know how to explain it.

Excited to try NY pizza on our arrival, we visited here because it was nearby. Standing room only in a tight space here. We ordered a whole pie to share and had to secure a coveted high top to open it. Service moves fast but the pizza was just ok. There was way too much grease for me.

Pretty awesome pizza but it had super thin for the price and wait! It was a fun place with traditional New York pizza but for me it was missing that wow factor. Extra hard cheese or spice was definitely missing. Come here if you want dependable pizza in a good location!

We waited in line in the cold for 45 min. In typical New York fashion we heard locals walking by grumbling how this place is not worth it. Still it was our first stop in NY and we wanted to give it a shot. Sadly the pizza was not great. We ordered I think all the flavors and not one was good. The veggie pizza with broccoli was especially not great. I wasn't a fan of all the condiments like garlic powder, Italian seasoning, Parmesan, just laying around in plastic tubs for all the patrons to pass around. I'm sure this is a New York thing but we couldn't eat comfortably standing with people bumping into us and our pizza was cold despite eating inside. We even had some patrons asking us if we could order for them so they didn't have to wait in line. Our friends back at home felt the same about this place. Service is fine and everyone moves quickly but the pizza wasn't anything memorable. I wouldn't wait in line for this place and the locals were right lol.

So we were coming back from Sarge's and thought - what the heck, let's grab a quick slice. I wasn't paying attention and did not realize this is in/near Times Square. With Times Square crowds on a Saturday night. So, there was a line - maybe took 25 minutes. I stood in line for an average slice of cheese pizza. It would be 4 stars in South Carolina. In NYC? Middle of the road. I will say, the ambiance is this joint was awesome. Hopping vibe for sure. I would not go back - even without a line. Way too many other pizza slices to have. :-)

Just because it's popular doesn't mean roaches are nice to have right where you eat

Likes are long but go quick. The pizza does taste amazing but finding a spot to eat is challenging. We got lucky and unlucky. Got a spot inside by the window and while the flies all over weren't too much of an issue, the little roaches crawling around were annoying. I get this places is popular, but it's still gross to be eating and having roaches crawling right by your pizza.

Midnight on a Friday and Joe's was hoppin'! The line for both slices and whole pies was out the door and it took me a good half an hour to get my slice. I went for the cheese and it hit the spot. Reheated upon ordering, the slice came out super hot! Everything a good NY slice should be: crispy crust (including the bottom!) with just the right amount of cheese to pizza sauce ratio. $5 per slice is a decent "cheap eat" late night snack in the city.

Hearing about Joe's, I was expecting something more, but I would say it was a good NY pizza. Not great or anything to make it stand out, but a solid "good." Fortunately, when I got there, there was no line. The place is small with VERY limited seating so it can get crowded, even with no line out the door. I ordered 3 slices (Supreme, Caprese, and Pepperoni) and I enjoyed all of them. Their system seems efficient so I would imagine if there was a line, it would go rather quickly. The crust was a bit too hard for me, but if you're looking for a classic New York style pizza, large thin, foldable slices, Joe's is definitely an option for you.

One of the staples of NYC pizza market. This chain has been operating since 1975. Everyone bragged about it so I had to get it. Service is good and prompt. Pizza is ready in 15 minutes, which in my case was less time for me to walk from hotel and pick it up. This location had two storefronts- one for pizza by the slice and the other for the full pie. Full pie line is shorter though still formidable. Line by the slice stretches around the corner. Pizza itself is all right. Toppings are pretty average and crust is chewy as it should be. Little bit too hard on my opinion. As a tourist - it was a must try. However - I wouldn't do it again.

While back in town we finally decided to try this tourist spot just for the heck of it. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and it was very underwhelming. Just ok, nothing memorable or to talk about. Not sure if other locations are better but this was not worth standing in line for. The service was good and fast though, I'll say that.

8.5/10 Tried three slices during my visit: the Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, and Plain Cheese. Overall, I can definitely see why this place is considered classic New York-style pizza. The slices were huge, thin, and had that signature foldable crust with a great balance of crispness and chew. The Pepperoni was one of my favorites. It came loaded with generous amounts of pepperoni, and the thin crust let all the flavors shine without feeling too heavy. Simple, classic, and really satisfying. The standout, though, was the Meat Lovers. I'm usually not the biggest fan of combination pizzas, but this one completely changed my mind. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the generous toppings were well-balanced without overwhelming the crust. It was easily the highlight of the meal. The Plain Cheese was the weakest of the three not because it was bad, but because it was exactly what you'd expect from a classic cheese slice. It had a nice cheesy flavor and solid texture, just nothing particularly memorable compared to the other two. Service was impressively fast despite the long line, and the Spider-Man-themed décor gave the restaurant a fun, unique New York vibe. Overall, I really enjoyed the pizza and can confidently say it lived up to the New York-style reputation. If I had to compare it to Pizza My Heart, I'd give this place a slight edge.

Huge Portions, Definitely Share 1 between 3 people. Pizza itself is OK, gets pretty chewy and too much dough in one mouthful sometimes.

I ordered via Uber Eats this time, and MAN -- I was blown away. I honestly thought that they had screwed up and sent me a gluten version. I checked the order and receipt. It was so good -- the crust so chewy with bite -- but light and airy and tight -- the cheese and toppings all great and fresh and delicious. It tasted like an awesome piece of NYC pizza. I was so happy. RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast.
