this establishment does not pay their employees holiday pay when working on New Years Day. If you can't afford holiday pay you have no business being open on NY! The customer Service was excellent, and the food was good. I have nothing but appreciation for the people working over here. 6/29/25 Food has gone downhill , ordered chow mein with combination shrimp chicken beef literally 3-4 each the noodles were soggy & in tiny sections not like the long type they use to serve up, it had way to much blk bean sauce, ordered steam dumpling & springrolls the side sauces were a joke diluted with water or something of that consistency it was bad, literally 1 Tb in a plastic cup with plenty of room to fill 3xs over , worst ever! not sure of cutbacks their doing or if this is managements doing so decided not to waste our money from here on out, on this so called American Asian dining service lady couldn't even smile as handing my takeout order don't waste your $$ even with a discount or promotion you'll regret it! Located conveniently close to the ocean and right off the 5 freeway. Open during the pandemic and they will do a to go order and bring the food out to your car. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and polite. I was able to use the Pick Up Stix app to place an order, very convenient. I like the $29 family value pack meal - it is a lot of food, and covers all the bases including, entrees, sides, and dessert. FAMILY VALUE PACK Any 2 Chicken Entrees 1 order of Chow Mein or Fried Rice 4 Cream Cheese Wontons and 4 Crispy Dumplings Steamed white or brown rice 4 Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookies. The Crispy Honey chicken and the House Special chicken entrees are 2 of my favorites, so tasty and delicious. The wontons and dumplings are a great compliment to the entrees and are also tasty. We also had the signature Chinese salad with chicken - pretty good. Pick up Stix is consistent, always good, fresh, tastes the same, no matter which location. Amazing experience at this pick up Stix, Cymba the manager was super helpful and has always been able to get me amazing dishes with her recommendations. She always has a lovely smile on her face that makes the entire restaurant light up which encourages me to come more often and create a more personable experience which absolutely adds to the food because it is served with a smile and a positive attitude. Ordered the chicken lo mein from Pick up Stix in Carlsbad and was anything but fresh. I was very disappointed because it tasted old and rancid. Usually, the food is OK. Called in and they didn't seem very interested in my experience . She then went on to offer me A free lo mein for Next time I came in, but that's still leaves me without dinner for the day since I was on my way to work. Let me just say - I've been ordering from this location for the last 5 years . I usually if not always get my orders to eat at home . I stop by every time around 1pm thru 4pm ; once a week at least . But there is a huge flaw with one of there Associates. ( a 45-50 year Hispanic male ) I certainly hope he has an issue with only me , because I can't be the only one who has found his service unacceptable ; on every single occasion . This male associate never welcome me or any other patrons while I wait to pick up my order . I even have a cash gratuity ready for any change in his demeanor . But today I thought might be either a different associate or if he acknowledged my arrival, and asked why I was standing by the pick up area without any concern . Once another customer walked in about two minutes after me he welcomed him and asked if he was there to pick up just as I was. the customer stated his name and picked up his to go order . And then he finally had to acknowledge me and asked if I was a driver or a customer I assume he meant from one of the local delivery companies. Before I could say no and give them my name, the customer that was unaware that I had not been helped apologize for receiving his food before me and I told him it was quite all right. At that time. The associate did not apologize and just asked if I was a driver picking up the food which again I said no.. I really wish I could return to this location, but I will do everything I can not to dine at this location as long as he is working there . I work in hospitality and I cannot believe that this associate has been able to get away with terrible customer relations and service. I truly hope he changes his way so I can once again come back and enjoy one of my favorite places to have Chinese food.. read more

If I could give this place a -10 I would! Tonight I stopped by and ordered 2 Fire Cracker Tofu dishes to go, this was repeated to the worker. When I got home and started to eat it I noticed that both dishes were chicken. I immediately called the store and told them I was given the wrong dish and the guy said no you ordered chicken, I said I would never order chicken because I am strict vegetarian. I said why would I order chicken when I don't eat poultry? He continued to tell me that I ordered the chicken and started raising his voice at me and telling me to bring it back, I said I am all the way on the other side of Carlsbad and I am handicapped so I can't. I asked him if he could just refund the money on my card and he said if you bring it back. He then proceeded to tell me that he would check the cameras, I said ok go ahead and he said I can't right now but I will tomorrow. I asked to speak to the manager and he said I am the manager. When I asked what his name was he hung up on me! For starters I can't for the life of me believe someone so rude and crass is a manager. He lacks any kind of compassion, customer service skills and has no interest in helping a customer, especially a handicapped one. What kind of manager argues with a customer over $23 and then hangs up on them? Pick Up Stix needs to train this guy or FIRE him! I will be contacting the corporate office tomorrow to report the unnecessary combative treatment I was given. read more

Great location & friendly service but the food is absolutely awful! We got chicken & rice - chicken wasn't even hot, rice was hard and dry. The edamame wasn't even edible! I think it had been microwaved! We couldn't even bite into it - it was like rubber! We used to go to the Bressi Ranch location all of the time & it was always great! the flavor of the Pad Thai was really good and flavorful. However the chicken had a really strange texture to it, and flavor, almost like shrimp or fish. I asked for white meat only. Another visit soon after, there was hardly any chicken in the dish, less than before. If the meat was better quality, I would be back, but based on the few visits I had, I will not. The food is excellent most of the time but this time around it wasn't. The rice was drenched in sauce with the k pao beef. I don't understand why they don't put rice in the side anymore so one can control how much sauce they actually want. I don't recommend it anymore for this reason. read more
