In no particular order, we started with Pickled Herring in Cream Sauce, a slice of Derma, Potato Pancakes all around, a homemade Knish, 2 Matzo Ball Soups and the 2 Soup of the day. Remember, this was just a start! On to our meals: A Classic Reuben, 2 Turkey, Pastrami, Swiss with Coleslaw, A Hot Brisket Sandwich, a Fresh Roasted Frame Turkey Sandwich, a Create Your Own Triple and 2 Sloppy Joes. I am a long time lover of all things at pickled herring. I went to a yearly family part where there was platter of Sloppy Joes... we have been eating their sloppy Joes on New Year's day for years... back to when they were Reitner's in Bayonne. The place smelled delicious as soon as we walked in the door. Roasting chickens, seasoned meats and baked goods were an olfactory delight. I got a corned beef Reuben sandwich. You need to put this in your face. Easily one of the best Reuben sandwiches I have ever had. The French fries were very good. Golden brown on the outside, crispy and delicious. My wife got the potato knish. Between bites, as she wolfed it down, she said it was delicious. With all the prepared salads and meats presented right in front of you the ambience was great. Local kosher style deli that has the smells and food selection you would get in a NY deli. Smoked lox, smoked white fish, knishes, homemade salads, deli deserts and more. Pastrami sandwich is piled high and can serve 2 along with crispy crinkle or thin sliced fries. Homemade chicken noodle soup (get with all the veggies) along with matzah ball or kreplach. Don't get the Rueben Sandwich! First, it was Open Faced, so not really a Sandwich, which on reinspection was not mentioned on the menu. The Waitress did offer to address this, but I wasn't sure that I was the one that missed that when I read the menu, and being it was already in front of me and being hungry, I figured I'd give it a try. My mistake. A sandwich, especially a Rueben with multiple ingredients needs and even requires balance. This did not. Not enough sauerkraut while putting on way too much dressing, overpowering the ample pastrami. On the positive side, the French Fries were great! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. My wife had the plain Pastrami and said it was very good. The store section had everything you could ever ask for in a Jewish Deli. I can only attest so far that the Rugelach is Top Notch, super flakey and tasty. We also really liked our waitress. Very good service. Next time I'll stick to a one ingredient sandwiches. After eating the Whitefish salad I'm giving it "A big thumbs down. " Too much of a purée without much of a whitefish taste. They blended in too much mayonnaise or whatever they used for filler. The Chopped Liver meh. Herring was ok l, although the sauce was a little weak. I guess my standards are pretty high, having eaten in and best Deli's in Northern Jersey and NYC. Oh well read more

The food was excellent as it always is. We eat there or take out 2 or 3 times a month and buy a lot of food. Service is fair. The last time we were there, there were only a few people eating, but we had to hunt the waitress down a few times. The restaurant is starting to get very cheap with customers. They charge extra for every little thing. We had to pay extra for a single piece of bread. When we needed an extra bag for our leftovers, one of the cashiers gave us a dirty look and said we already had a bag. This was when we had just spent 60+ dollars on the meal. I ordered 2 stuffed cabbages. not 6 stuffed cabbages, but 2 and i was charged $17.90. they were cold and in a container ready for me to heat up and that's how much they costed. no side dish either. when I got home i was hoping they tasted amazing at least. they were just ok. the sauce had weird beans and string beans in it and it was very sweat and sour tasting. I used to go there all the time for things here and there. but after spending all this money on 2 stuffed cabbages, I can't go there anymore. I'm done. Just your classic Jewish restaurant. My grandma had to try the Knishwich and loved it. My family has been to many Jewish restaurants and while not the top of the bunch, it was as good as any I've ever been to. This is saying a lot because I've been to Katz's, Harolds and 2nd Ave Deli. Fantastic Jewish deli with awesome dinners and super friendly staff. We had a variety of dishes including corn chicken, salmon and more. All melts is your mouth and delicious. Deli meat is top tier and 7 layer cakes desserts were perfect. Waitress was awesome. Went there 2 days ago with my wife and two girls and the place was packed the entire time! I had an awesome lunch with my neighbor this past week. We dined in - yes they have a dining area that's very reminiscent of 2nd Ave Deli. When you walk in there's a deli counter and they slice their meats as you order. They have pastrami, corned beef, turkey, tongue, roast beef etc. Reubens and sloppy joes are on the menu. Also knishes and other NYC deli staples. It's awesome. We got the lunch for two - you get a plate full of assorted meats, rye bread, cole slaw and/or health salad, fries, and pickles. A marked improvement from when I first tried this place last year. Yes, I am now aware that Jesse, one of the original owners of Lox, Stock, and Deli co-owns this joint, which is partly why the food has their flash and flair, in addition to the pleasant customer service. They also serve up fresh meat on their sandwiches (which while I can still finish a whole one, they are tasty). I like that they use seedless rye on their sandwiches, as it works better on my stomach, and I am sure others would agree. Their matzo ball soup is delicious, and plentiful, and their sides are tasty and have that homemade feel to them. They also have good sweets, reminiscent of the Jewish and Italian bakeries in Brooklyn. I am glad I took a second chance with them, because my family and I order here plenty. Even when they mess up, they go above and beyond to make it right. That is how you bring customers like myself back for more. I have been eating at this location since it was built in the early 80s. Jerry and Harvey's was a local institution that was really good for many years. When Jerry sold unfortunately the place went down hill. Now it was taken over by this fresh new owner that definitely sees what a modern Jewish looks like. Opened a few months ago in yet again another strip mall off of Route 9 North. Currently they don't even have a permanent sign out front, only one temporary banner. Yes, they have a few tables outside if you're that hungry. Ordered two sandwiches to go for an early lunch. They were a pastrami and corned beef. Overstuffed and both were very lean. At $12.95 a piece, prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you get. Definitely a welcoming addition to an area not known for this kind off comfort food.
