In back of the counter in the preparation area everything is very clean. Sign of a good deli. Means the owner really cares and holds his employees to a high standard. Staff are friendly. Luckily, you're getting your money's worth with a 14-inch sub made with fresh bread and quality sandwich ingredients. Expect a 5-10 minute order preparation time--longer if you order a hot sub. For what you pay for, you can expect well prepared and delicious subs. On a quiet weekday night, I ordered a half a turkey sub with everything on it. The turkey was moist and had a light subtle flavor, which complemented the oil, vinegar, salt and pepper well. The bread was soft, with a very very thin crust. For $2.99, the sandwich quality outweighed the cost hands down. They also have a small mini mart with drinks and chips to accompany their sandwiches, as well as an ATM machine, cigarette stand, and fresh coffee machine. Will definitely be back if I'm pinched for money. Would recommend for a casual lunch to go. read more

Great breakfast sandwiches! Recently introduced my wife to locally made, fresh Kielbasa, and she loved it. So we were visiting the area to pick up some at the The Kielbasy Store. The Village Deli was just down the road, so we stopped for breakfast and ordered breakfast sandwichs. I had already ordered my usual Porkroll, Egg and Cheese. My wife was undecided, and as afterthought, I asked if they could make a sandwich with Kielbasa. They said yes, and she thought it was a great idea and ordered one with Kielbasa. As expected she enjoyed it. The fresh, chewy kaiser roll really makes a great breakfast sandwich. Porkroll was not too salty. Kielbas had a nice snap to it. I've tried quite a lot of the food here, and the best part is the price. A half sub is about $4, and big enough for it's own meal. The Italian combo was actually pretty good, but I hated the cheesesteak and the burger was a mess. Wings are pretty decent, and I like their fries. Onion rings are over battered and can be greasy. Mozz sticks are good- nice outer shell, very crunchy. Overall, it's hit or miss here, but it's so cheap if you know what to order you can't go wrong. read more

I used this deli to order 25 subs for my entire staff for an apple picking event nearby. The owner accommodated us so well! They got each sub EXACTLY how each person ordered it. And it was nice because each persons names were on the wrapping. Nice touch! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would! It is always dirty inside and the nasty attitude from the owner creates a high tension in the building. I see the cooks in the back and the owner use their dirty hands to prepare sandwiches without gloves or eat a piece of meat right from the deli counter. During COVID, a majority of the workers seemed too incompetent to wear their masks correctly, if at all. It is also very tight behind the counter and I've seen the creepy cook in the back get way too close to the young girls working. He's gotten so close, I've even seen him touch them. I feel like I've watched this place go down the drain; it's a shame. read more

My family always buys food from them. And they usually are on point with their sandwiches. But today, we ordered a Chicken Salad Sub sandwich. When I got home, they were correct. IT was a Chicken sub, but-.. not Chicken Salad. Dry pieces of chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato. This is NOT what I ordered. And perhaps this may be the final time. When traveling to the shore, I always make it a point to stop at the Village deli. I find it very inexpensive for amazing boars head heroes and ice cold drinks. The people that work there are always quick and polite and they get through the crowd very fast. After my past few great experiences with the Village deli, I make it a point to have my employer order all catering trays from there. read more

The deli makes decent sandwiches but I suspect the meet need improvement The only good thing is that the place has a good amount of cold drinks to buy. Stewart's is good to drink. Not bad priced. We call this place "Recession". Cause when your broke and hungry this is the place to go, its the cheapest sandwiches here in east brunswick. Only $2.99 for any 1/2 hoagie! Its not packed with lots of meat but its still way more than Subway. There signs say Boars head meat so its a good brand but maybe get better quality bread??
