    Chicken and pork combo
    Sugeidy P.

Called on Tuesday and made a reservation because COVID is real, and we should all support small when we can! The guy said it won't be too busy but thanks for calling. We arrived and the waiter greeted us and sat us down. We were craving a beer and to our surprise, it is BYOB, you just need the receipt on the table, so that if an inspector were to come in, they know they didn't sell it. Of course we went and got Coronas. Overall, the service was great. We had the chicken croquets, which were amazing, and we shared the pork and chicken platter(comes with rice and fries). They make their own spicy sauce, which was good. Overall good bbq! Portions are HUGE! So come with a big appetite!! We didn't have dessert because we were too full, maybe next time!

Went for an early dinner on Saturday, it's byob so we had a ton of sangria with us. Had the cod cake go start and it was pretty good. Salad was good too and the waitresses were very nice. I ordered the whole chicken with veggies (meh) and black beans. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the beans were amazingly good. The veggies were blah. $16 was a great price for all this food though. My buddy Brad got the 1/2 chicken and 1/2 beef short ribs and crushed both. His came with fries and rice. Tons of food and fun. Total bill was about $46 with tip, very nicely done

Picnic barbecue ... Man o man! $8 of pure deliciousness. I'm very picky with my rice and Portuguese rice is just not my fav. but besides that everything at this spot was on point. Miss being in Newark for these type of spots. Cheap, big portions, and bangin. Many people pick up and go but they have a decent sit down area for those wanting lunch/dinner. You can tell decor isn't a priority but when you're serving good food, I wouldn't care much either. The servers and staff in the front are all friendly. My supervisor took me out for lunch and we shared the half chicken special, with rice, fries, and a huge salad. I felt like we ate so much but we still had enough to take home. That's how big the portion was for "half chicken". Awesome spot to get a delicious meal that won't break the bank.

The service was amazing! The two Brazilian sisters are friendly and extremely attentive. I enjoyed the barbecue meats. The prompt service was impressive! The food could have used more flavors and the soup I do not recommend so much. The chicken soup, somewhat good. The food is abundant. I went with a group of 12 and they did an excellent job in making sure everything transitioned smoothly. I will definitely make my way back to Newark for more visits in the future.

Their original photos are kind of misleading, because it's just as casual as the rest of the barbecue spots around Newark, except they have wine glasses. My mom, boyfriend and I ordered a salad, ribs, chicken rice and fries and then the flan for dessert (huge ass portion). The ribs were good and also gigantic. I liked the ribs and fries better at Ferry House down the street, but liked Picnic's chicken a lot more - it was moist and tasty. Their staff was a bit friendlier as well, and plus you have a ton more seating if you are not grabbing and going.

This a simple BBQ spot, but they do it so well. I usually feel like I am committing a crime when i get the check, since it ia too much for for $7 The chicken is the best, so good i even want to eat the bones. The salad is always fresh with home made vinaigrette. There is a large dining room with no frills other than a large TV for watching sports. Even though it is no frills it gets a five stars- i met the owner and i am convinced he knows customer service is what will make this business succeed.

I only get the grilled salmon with vegetables. Love it, though the veggies can be a little hard sometimes. BYOB

My grilled chicken must have been on a diet. Thinnest slice of chicken ever on a sandwich.

I wanted to like this place, but takes too long to get food (about 1hr deliver via grubhub), sandwich orders on grub hub start off plain. And you have to specify if you want lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, etc. That's backwards. We got 5 sandwiches with bread and chicken/steak. It was half the size of the picture of the sandwich here on yelp. I provided my pic as well. Guy on phone tried to make it better by offering a free salad but I declined. Fries were a little soggy and to add, the driver was yelling at me that he didn't understand english when I advised that he has to come to the other side of the building.

Great quality and the fluffiest rice. The garlic chicken is great. The takeaway food is great and can feed 4 people.

Luis, the owner, is very proud of their vinyl equipment and says that the music selection of the DJs is very diverse and upbeat. They had a wide variety of food, all ranging from beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and some vegetarian options. They had an extensive wine menu, and my boyfriend joyfully enjoyed a glass of wine. I got the brazilian fried chicken, which was extremely flavorful, and i was surprised there wasn't any breading on the chicken as typical fried chicken does. I much preferred the no-breading style, which I think is the Brazilian way. I would have preferred a boneless dish, as there were quite a few pieces with bones, and it was pretty oily at the bottom of the dish. It came with two very large sides, and totaled around $25. 100% would recommend this dish, but I do think at a lower price point, this could make do with just one side, instead of two, as the main dish was quite large enough to fill me up. My favorite part of this meal was the garlic butter bread that they provide for free. It comes out extremely fresh with lots of chopped up garlic, which is my favorite part of garlic bread. It was a great way to start the dinner off. The service was great and the waiters were extremely attentive. They regularly checked up on how we felt about the food and filled up our drinks. The restaurant was pretty empty while we were dining, but the space was laid out very nicely and the decor was beautiful. Would come again if it wasn't so far!

The food was absolutely amazing really flavorful and well done. Just be a little prepared that most dishes come in smaller portions. But the quality definitely makes up for it. I ordered the paella, and it's easily enough for two or even three people and it was well worth it. Really delicious. The drinks were also definitely worth trying while you're there. The only thing I wasn't big on was the desserts they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. But overall, great atmosphere, excellent food, and a fun experience. I'd definitely come back.

The servers were friendly. I gives me the sense that it is a good place to have a range of events - from a business lunch to a celebratory party. There is lots of space in the restaurant with different rooms. One room seemed specifically set up for large parties whereas another room was set up like a typical restaurant. Our party was able to relax and enjoy ourselves without ever feeling any time pressures from the staff. It was quite an enjoyable experience.
