I tried this place about 3 years after moving to Indy and promptly returned the next day. Nowadays…read morethere's rarely a week I don't go at least once. The staff is kind and efficient, the food hits the spot and then some, and it doesn't blow the budget. I'd say these are some of if not the best traditional tacos in Indy, along with deliciously authentic tamales and jam packed burritos. I've tried most of the menu here at this point and will vouch for it all. My humble recommendations include supreme shrimp tacos, pastor, chorizo, and asada tacos- the last few with just onions and cilantro. Their pastor makes me doubt reality it's so ridiculously good. I'd also suggest the pork tamales, house pineapple drink, and platanos fritos- fried plantains with a sweet and milky cream cheese topping. And definitely grab some extra homemade salsa. I've turned countless people onto this taco truck and it's become a weekly ritual for coworkers and friends alike. Open late, pretty LED lights and an atmosphere united by an appreciation for good food, it's a can't miss in Indy. Take my word for it, I'll never steer you wrong.

Parking is plentiful and they have a bright light for late night runs. The tacos are always fresh and hot. I got to steak tacos and some esquite. I was happy to see the esquite wasn't full of water like some other spots. Everything was delicious. But be prepared to pay $5 per taco.

They offer burgers, mac & cheese, sausages, nachos, sandwiches, and of course some exotic hot dog. This is one of the most colorful trucks and you cannot miss it. Even though my interaction with them was very limited, the staff was nice enough. I ordered a jumbo Carolina Slaw Dog with a side of BBQ baked beans. The sides are already prepared and pre-packed, so my wait was not long. It took them less than 5 minutes to have my food ready. The beans were cold, but they did offer to heat them for me. I was heading straight home so I opted to just heat them up when I got there. My dog's bread was soggy, as expected. I am just throwing that out there for those people that soggy bread matters to. It was a delicious dog though and I really liked it. The beans were also pretty good and I enjoyed them as well. I highly recommend fining out where this truck is going to be and checking them out. They have a wide range of delicious food and some really unique dogs.

I've been a little hit-and-miss when it comes to the Indiana Government Center's Statehouse Market…read morethis year. I've had a couple downright disappointing experiences, a handful of average ones, and only occasionally something that truly impressed me. I had planned to visit a pizza truck that was scheduled to be here today, but it appeared to be a cancellation. Box Burger was packed, Union Jack's was busy, and I'll admit that nothing else was striking my fancy. I spied the attractive Garnacha Spot truck and was intrigued. It is beautifully decorated. The line wasn't too bad and I was working on a limited time schedule due to an upcoming meeting. I checked out the menu - tacos, quesadillas, tortas, and a handful of other items. I opted for a chicken quesadilla. I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert when it comes to Mexican. I'd almost guarantee I lean toward Americanized Mexican cuisine. This quesadilla was right at $4.50 plus tax. I should have gotten two, but I typically eat outside and I knew I had to rush. What can I say? I loved this quesadilla. The seasoning mix was perfect, the flavor wonderful, and the serving size was definitely right on for a $4.50 quesadilla. Yes, I could have eaten another one. Easily. The best part for me here? The service was perfect. The woman who took the order was helpful and super friendly. While I'm sure they'd have loved a bigger order, they were marvelously hospitable. The person who handed me the order, presented in a styrofoam container, recognized the difficulty of carrying in a wheelchair and offered me a bag - I didn't take it, but I loved the thoughtfulness. This experience was definitely one of the highlights of Statehouse Market for me this year. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the truck is attractively decorated and fits with the personality of the people and the cuisine. I'll easily return the next time I see The Garnacha Spot and I'm genuinely looking forward to it.
