Came in for take out. Bill was 25.05, I gave her 26, no change back. Food was late, place was busy. My biggest issue was the failure to give me the change. The food was satisfactory, I probably would have given more stars had I sat down, eaten and paid the bill with a tip. I don't like the concept of paying and expecting change and not getting it. update: I got a message here from the owner who wants me to come back. He told me that they usually round off so if the bill is 14.14 they would just take the 14. I don't get it when the bill is 25.05 and I give her 26. then the rounding off is .95 in the restaurants favor. Not good for the consumer. I will never reveal myself to the owner. This is a very small town. This is not the first time this type of shorting has happened to me. It would not have happened if I paid with a credit card. read more

Went there for the third time. And, for the third time, I HATED it. Went for the first time on their 2nd day after opening...not good but I chalked it up to opening jitters. 2nd and 3rd time - what's the excuse? Guacamole - ok but no real Mexican flavor. In fact, nothing has a genuine Mexican flavor. Chicken nachos were more like BBQ nachos - with cheese whiz on top! Last nights special - short rib tacos also tasted more BBQ than Mexican. Taco Bell is more authentic. Service was terrible....we were still eating with forks in hand and busboy asked if we were done and could he take our plates! Not very good food, not very good service and prices too high for quality. Definitely not value for money spent! Bring back Rockaway Seafood Company! read more

The vibe at Pico was amazing. I was especially pleased to get out of the house for a night out while still being close to home, not having to go all the way into the city or out on the Island. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Service is a bit slow and it took quite some time to get the check and then again to actually pay. The starters are very yummy!! Be sure to try the corn for sure. For the entree I selected a veggie quesadilla. It had its own twist with the artichoke but wayyyy too much cheese lol. read more

Absolutely love this place. Being a rockaway local we order for delivery from Pico often (probably more often than normal). The food is always super fresh and consistently delicious. Try the salads. I have never ever got even a remotely wilted leaf. The guac is amazing and equally as fresh. Make sure you ask for roasted pepitas or as I like to call them "crack seeds." I dine in at Pico occasionally. The ambience is great. You really get a beach town feel. They play great music too. Sublime, 311, Pepper etc. Thank you Pico for the great food. We had dinner at Pico the other night. Overall, very good. The service was great. The food was very tasty. The only complaint I have is I ordered the shrimp mole dish. It came with 3 shrimp, not jumbo, they were definitely on the smaller side. Thought $18 was a bit overpriced for that. But again the place is beautiful, drinks are very good so I definitely recommend you try. read more

If this restaurant were closer to me, I would go all the time! This is a Mexican restaurant, but from what I hear, the owners are Irish. Some people might be skeptical of how good an Irish owned Mexican restaurant can be, but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. My friends and I walked over from Rockaway Beach (about a 15 minute walk depending on where you're situated) and left with full and happy bellies. They have tacos with pastrami of all things, which was delicious and their guacamole is pretty legit too. The servings are good for lunch time and I was tempted to get their pitcher of mimosa or bloody mary/maria for $10! I think they only serve that during brunch hours, but it's a great deal nonetheless. There was a table nearby who got a pitcher of mimosa and it looked like a healthy serving. I ended up getting a single serving for bloody mary for $5 which didn't disappoint either. read more

Definitely impressed with the lunch options. The food I ate was really good, I ordered a smoked chicken taco and a grilled fish taco, both included in the two for $10 lunch special. The fish taco was Delish, the chicken one was okay, but definitely wouldn't get it again (there was a bone in it maybe that's why). Really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I can't get over the fact that they charge for chips and salsa. Went to this restaurant when we were visiting family in Far Rockaway. It was really delicious! Almost everything they serve is made from scratch and was so tasty! The chips have this yummy spice on them that makes them good enough to eat on their own, but you don't want to miss out on the pico and guacamole. I had a chicken burrito and the chicken was smoked - it wasn't traditional Mexican food, but it was so uniquely delicious. We have been here several times and have always had a great meal and left satisfied. I really enjoy their taco specials, the pastrami, angry shrimp and pork belly being the best. Love their brisket quesadilla as well. My husband usually gets their burrito, which is sizeable. The nacho platter is generous and equally good. Recently had their slaw salad with ginger cumin dressing and it was delicious. Drinks are great are fairly priced for the size. Usually we are too full for dessert but we did have the dulce la leche cake and it was also good. I would enjoy more choices of fish entrees, grilled and not fried, but I really can't say anything negative about Pico. Walking in to the restaurant we've noticed the specials board read, "Come check out the most obnoxious service one lady on yelp had to experience" They had us at sarcasm......we thought that was funny but according to all the good reviews on yelp beforehand, we decided to take the drive to come and experience for ourselves. We were greeted right away and our server was extremely friendly and worked with my vegetarian needs. Guacomole and tortilla chips were amazing....they were so fresh and Guacomole had crab meat in it.....delicious. our mojitos were delicious and had a nice kick to it. Shrimp empanadas were soooo dammm good!!! Our entré's which were vegetable burrito, pork belly tacos and side fried yucca. Entree's came with beans, rice, Guacomole and tomatoes were absolutely delicious.....we finished with dessert which was bread pudding and again delicious. We would definitely come back!! I just found this little gem after living 2 years in Rockaway Beach. I must say I will be ordering again. The food is well portioned and homey. However, my boyfriend got the burger and he said it could have been a little more grilled. I ordered the mahi mahi entree and didn't really love it. Def would look into ordering something w shrimp next time. Other than that, the bread pudding was to die for !! And my favorite side were the onion strings. A solid dining option. A bit pricey ($6 for a single taco) but the food will not leave you unhappy. It's better to dine in than order out, as they've forgotten items in our order more than a couple of times. Terrible place, yea sure the food is fine and everything but the workers aren't. Not only do they make their customers wait for a long time, they also yell at people who don't give them tips. For example, I saw a waitress yell at several kids today lecturing them and losing her temper about how they only tipped her like $0.75. I mean they're kids, why would anyone care about a little bit of tip. I mean I work in a restaurant but never have I ever seen such attitude from someone. read more

Not only does Pico have delicious food (especially the pastrami tacos) it has an amazing atmosphere and a friendly staff! We also get Pico delivered quite often and it is always delivered in a timely fashion and the food is still hot. Highly recommend! read more
