Easily the best Mexican food I've ever had! The nachos with pastrami were out of this world delicious! My main Course of brisket, rice, black beans with 4 flour tortillas and was made by god himself! I am not a fan of Howard Beach but this place gets me up and going. This was a favorite delivery spot of the staff when I worked at the Rockaway Y. Today we were in the area and decided to visit. Our waitress was upbeat and gave me a sample of a citrus Sangria that I then ordered by the pitcher. Yum! We sat at the booth in the front the bar was busy and the music was top 40 upbeat. The food is great. I love the wings and the shrimp tacos. Guacamole and chips are my favorite, the guacamole is thick, zesty, and fresh. I found the prices worth it and you definitely get a bang for your buck...the food is authentic Mexican Im not sure who they have on the grille but this food taste just like the food I had a couple of years ago in East LA. I gave it a 5 stars because the food is great and the service is always delightful, however can we get some complimentary salsa and chips? What a lovely dinner experience we had at Pico. It was the perfect end to a fun day at the beach. The waitress Lisa was extremely professional and competent. She did a great job. We got a bunch of things and shared them. I HIGHLY recommend sharing the nachos. They are huge, but that's perfect bc I really love nachos. The chips themselves are seasoned so they're almost Doritos Nachos. Omg amazing. Naturally, we had to get salads as entrées to balance out the nachos and spicy margaritas. LOVE THIS PLACE! Honestly it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city. I ALWAYS get the Elote to start. It's like candy it's so good. And then I get anything that has their smoked brisket in it.!!! Although, the other night I got the small, half rack of smoked ribs and when they came, the bartender said "Good Lord! That's a half rack?!!". They were HUGE! LOL And speaking of bartenders, we always sit at the bar. That's where all the local people sit...and they can be crazy fun. We celebrated My Wife and Son's Birthday. Pico RBNY is an Amazing Mexican Bar/Restaurant , we had the must wonderful time everyone made us so welcome and make sure everything was perfect. We had the Brisket Nachos , Honey Chicken Wings and The Shrimp Empanadas and everything was so delicious. I'm shocked I haven't written a review of this place so far, because it's one of my top three favorite restaurants in New York City. That's right, of all the boroughs, this Queens spot is closest to my heart. First off, the L.A. burrito is something I love and think about often. It's so good! Really, any of the dishes that come with brisket have me feeling this way. And the chips? Perfecto! Haven't had a bad dish here. And the service is great, plus they usually do deals on rainy or cold days. But warning: With nice, normal beach weather usually comes some serious crowds. We typically avoid dinner and brunch times so we're guaranteed a table. Thank goodness they started bottling and selling their tomatillo sauce, because my fam and I have been contemplating sauce theft. Now we can just buy a bottle every time we come. Wee! read more

What a great place! Went as a large group of friends and from the reservations to actually arriving we had great interactions with management and staff. With limited capacity there weren't many patrons but it was busy; this did not take focus away from our service. Our waitress was very attentive and patient with such a big group she got all of our orders right and noticed when our drinks were running low and checked in with us. She was friendly and made the experience enjoyable. The food all around was great from the tacos (can't go wrong with any of the offerings) to quesadillas and the chicken bowl all were soo tasty the drinks were great I had a margarita with sangria mix - it wasn't too sugary or watered down made just right. I love anywhere that offers a taco flight and jalapeño margaritas. Both the taco flight & the jalapeño margaritas here do not disappoint!! Also worth mentioning is the fro-mosa, half frozen margarita half mimosa! Crowd pleaser and very delicious. Also the nachos are to die for. They remind me of the nachos at tortelleria nixtamal in Corona which is authentic Mexican (and one of my favorites). I have been here a total of three times. And their food has not disappointed me yet. The last time I went we ordered the elote (Corn on the Cob, Chipotle Aioli, Cotija Cheese, Pimenton) and the wings! The wings are MUST HAVE!!!! (Also they are selling half and full trays of their wings for FOOTBALL Season!) the Elote was good! I ordered myself a house salad with chicken. The chicken was shredded and not diced with a taste of bbq sauce. The salad dressing fit perfectly with the chicken in my opinion. (Honey Ancho Vinaigrette) For dessert the bread pudding is a go to for me. I have tried their tres leches but I feel as though it needs more milk. Pico seriously what happened? This place was a go to for me and i order the same thing every time but i think they need to put an APB out for the chef because there is a drastic change. I am completely disappointed. Lets start with the brisket quesadilla or should i say the burnt wrap with a sprinkle of grated brisket and cheese. this was like eating a 45 inch record. inedible. i usually get the shrimp but decided on the brisket. Burnt wrap and no meat or cheese. shameful. Next we both had our 129th street go to sandwich, the tortas con carne with pastrami. usually a toasted crispy tasty roll with meat and slaw pouring off the sides. This time, white bun a string of meat, yes one string of meat, barley any slaw. Subway serves sandwiches better than what i received. What a total let down. Pico look at the pics you should be ashamed. What a disgrace to spend the money on a product only to get duped with a giant bun. Oh and dessert wasn't on the menu but we still enjoying it today, Pepto. We are both so sick from the food that i took the day off of work. Something changed and it wasn't for the better. Food was served cold even though we were the first people in to have brunch. Coffee was cold too!! No explanation for a restaurant that just opened for brunch. One dinner we went back . There were two tables with couples like us. In the center was a large party of 14. The waitstaff concentrated on the large party. Our dinner arrived cold. So did the other two tables. Complaining did nothing. Even the drink had melted ice. The bill was over $100!! I complained paid for about half of my check after sending back a cold hard pork belly with half done black beans. Pico's ELOTE appetizer makes me so genuinely happy as a clam. And it's a full meal, as far as I'm concerned.

My girlfriend and I trek all the way from Southeast Brooklyn to enjoy this Mexican spot - hidden in Far Rockaway not to far from the beach. The food is REALLY GOOD and just the right amount of portions. We love the atmosphere - there are huge booths in the front and an inviting room in the back with additional tables. This is a great place for a first date as well! They serve casual eats like burgers and fries and make gourmet Mexican dishes that are simply yet hearty. I also highly recommend their martinis. Pico is our Cheers - everybody knows our names and treat us like family. The rotating selection of craft beers is reason enough to come, that and the Fire's Out margarita. The food is great, and there are enough specials to hold your interest. Most of the staff have worked here for a long time, so that says something about the environment. read more

Been here a few times and this place never disappoints ! The restaurant has giant booths perfect for large parties which is a plus! Tacos are delicious As well as the Elote Corn , delicious and mouthwatering. What I would love to discuss is their brunch . Came here on a busy Saturday seated promptly. We ordered Froze margaritas with floaters , each looked a bit different but we all enjoyed them - don't know if that's a negative to anyone but a drink is a drink delicious and all. I took a friend for a late lunch last week and we both were looking to try a new restaurant and sit and chat comfortably. We found that in Pico. We were greeted upon entry and told we could sit anywhere to be comfortable. We chose the back room where the sun came through the windowed ceiling and lit up the room. Our server was very sweet and knowledgable.... and we took her recommendations. We both chose the beef brisket burritos and couldn't be more pleased. The brisket was so tender and flavorful.... to be honest it was the first time I had a brisket borrito. It was served with yellow rice and black beans...a hint of heat and also well done and plated. PICO, not surprisingly, is ranked as the number one restaurant for Rockaway on Yelp, a title that is no doubt well deserved. However, outside the confines of a Rockaway list, I'm sure you'll never come across PICO mentioned in any of the top Mexican restaurants for the greater NY area ... which I think is total bs. Sure, seeing as how I'm a native of Rockaway, I can see how my review could be considered biased, but it's not. While PICO isn't your traditional Mexican place, their twist on Mexican food is perfectly executed, and unquestionably delicious. I'm sure if this place was opened in Williamsburg, people would literally be losing their minds over it: countless articles would be typed, lines would be preposterous, some customer would have the logo tatooed on their arm, and Munchies would have already produced a Night Out, YouTube video. As an unrepentant glutton, I've scoured countless lists, proclaiming one restaurant or another, to have the title of "best nachos." A title that I see as tantamount to a Nobel Peace prize. Never have I seen PICO mentioned on said lists, but by all means, go into PICO, order the nachos with brisket, and tell me where you can find better nachos than that. Easily they should be tops of any nacho list, which, in my opinion, is automatic grounds for a 5 star review, but don't worry, the rest of their food is just as good. All of their tacos are good, but the pastrami taco is especially worth noting. Pastrami that could rival some of the top Jewish delis, coupled with coleslaw, and a chipotle mayo sauce, all on a freshly made tortilla. How can you beat that? For dessert, the tres leches cake will not disappoint. I'd say in the last few years I've been to PICO over 20 times, and their consistency is to be applauded.
