The Manpanion is a pie connoisseur. We have visited every pie place in the SF Bay Area. So far, we find Chile Pies to be top notch. However, after my move to Phoenix, I was on a mission to find an awesome pie place for the Manpanion when he visits. The search is over. Pie Snob is totally legit. In fact, I'd say it's even better than my beloved Chile Pies. Essentially a home-based bakery, Pie Snob is located at the back of the baker's house. It's a full-on professional kitchen that is also available for rent. Unlike most bakeries, Pie Snob is a made-to-order bakery. This means you have to order in advance and pick it up yourself (unless you make delivery arrangements). I always mean to try other flavors, but I can't seem to get enough of the caramel apple pie. The first time I ordered, I always warmed it up a little and had it with vanilla ice cream. Though delicious, I have since learned that the best way to eat this flavor is cold. Yup. COLD! With the caramel nice and chewey, this is the BEST way to have it. Since discovering this gem, I now bring a pie with me (carefully packed) when I visit SF. This place has amazing pies. I've had the caramel apple, which the caramel is a little tough, so I'd go for the apple crumb next time instead, but still very good. The almond joy pie is my favorite- it is so tasty (chocolate layer, cream filling, toasted coconut). The key lime pie is good. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake is divine, with a great crust. The triple berry pie, chocolate cream pie, and the strawberry-rhubarb were also good. They have so many good-looking pies, I want to try them all!! Eventually... I will! The individual slices are around $4.50 ($1 more for cheesecake) and a whole pie is around $24-35. The slices are not overly large, and I'd say they run on the smaller side.. but they are tasty and good quality. Worth it for a special indulgence. I've been here a couple of times, and it will be my go-to for pie and cheesecake. They also have ice cream/gelato and sometimes decorated cookies. I haven't had either (I have a hard time paying $5 for a cookie, tbh), but I have heard from other customers that those are delightful as well. We picked this shop because they're a fellow member of Local First Arizona. Three days later - people are still raving about how good the pies were. One of the partners stopped by my office and asked, "So we're going to celebrate Pi Day every year from now on, right? Who needs Christmas?" Taste tested cherry crumble, apple crumple and red velvet cheesecake. My favorite was the apple. Second red velvet then cherry. There were so many apples in the slice of pie it was wonderful. Warm or cold you can't beat this one. The crumble top was perfectly sweet and the rest of the crust on the apple and cherry with delightfully flaky. The red velvet cheesecake was rich and you wanted to get every morsel. The crust on this was a nice compliment. Not sure what the white topping is but it definitely didn't overpower the cheesecake at all. I think for the next birthday or event I'll prob just order a whole pie from them! Three slices (big) $15 total, that's a great price!! I would have tried the mini pumpkin slice but they were charging $6 for a mini. read more

Been a customer of this establishment for as long as they've been in business always supported I am sent many friends to the pie snob until tonight. Drove over an hour to the Indian school location got there 15 minutes before they were to close and they already had the lights out and were cleaning the inside of the restaurant. The girl inside the restaurant clearly did not want to open the door but she finally did and said she had nothing left in her inventory of pies. I also called this location 10 to 15 times and no one ever picked up the phone. Clearly they need more competition. They always blame the holidays for their lack of service. Sorry to do it but it's a bad rating this time. Especially to a long-term customer. read more

The day before my fiancé's birthday celebration the team at pie snob managed to make sure I had all his favorites ready to go. When I got there to pick up they were putting the fresh made from scratch whip cream on top of the key lime pie. NOM! Needless to say the pies were a total hit with our whole group of friends. Was so excited to check this place out, based on the website....sadly disappointed the service was lack luster, the 2 ppl behind the counter were so uninterested in helping but the did so very extremely slowly. When we sat down that was it not even a question nor a look over at us to see if we needed anything else. I had heard wonderful reviews about the pies here, so when I needed a couple of pies for Christmas I have then a try. Kudos for easy online ordering! It was simple and I received a confirmation shortly after ordering. Pick up was a breeze, even with heavy holiday traffic picking up on Christmas Eve. The 2 girls working behind the counter were very nice and helpful. The pumpkin and apple pies were delicious and so much better than anything I could've purchased anywhere else. I have been dying to try Pie Snob for quite awhile. It was definitely worth the wait!! I consider myself a total pie snob only because if you had my mother's peach pie you would be too. Pie Snob has definitely earned their name. We bought the crumb topped apple pie and the razelberry. Both were amazing. The apples had the perfect amount of firmness. Not too sweet and perfect amount of tart. Loved the generous amount of crumb topping. Because who doesn't love extra crumbly goodness? And the crust? Identical to my mom's. So flaky, tender yet crisp, in other words amazing! The razelberry was just as tasty. The cooking was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The berries weren't mushy either. So yummy! Great pie! Every. Single. Time. We always end up getting an entire pie when we go. This time it was the Apple Crumble pie. When sliced into and put on a plate the slice was perfect! Held its shape and the layers within the pie......photo shoot perfect. They don't scrimp on apple or the crumble. The crust is great as well. I do not like to write negative reviews and probably wouldn't have if the response from the person at the Pie Snob on Indian School in Phoenix had been a bit kinder. Here's what happened: We drove quite a distance on Sunday to buy two pies at Pie Snob, paying $26 for each one. The pies were heavy and presumably filled with lots and lots of fruit,,,something to look forward to. On the Fourth, after warming up the pies, we noticed a strange thing: fruit pies normally ooze with deliciousness of fruit when cutting into them ... alas, no peaches nor rhubarb/strawberry pieces were falling off to the side or off the server. After giving each guest a slice, seven people all asked out loud as to what it was that we were eating. There wasn't much peach, if any, to be seen, let alone tasted. The rhubarb/strawberry pie had a bit more rhubarb (little strawberry) to offer but that was it! In looking at the remaining peach pie in the tin, it came to our attention that the pie's content was totally macerated and the couple of pieces of peach on top of the congealed mass were tasteless and mushy. The pies sadly went into the garbage. Thus the call to Pie Snob today, explaining the problem. The woman we spoke to said she would relate this to the district manager and either she or he would get back to us. However, since we didn't have proof of pictures, our word would simply not be good enough so most likely there was nothing that would be done. As of 5 p.m. today, there has been no word from them. At this point a reimbursement of $52 and an apology would be most appreciated! read more

They have great pies very tasty . However the last time I ordered on line I ordered a lemon meringue pie. When I went there they had a banana cream waiting for me. So they gave it to me free and said they would refund the cost. We will see if I get refunded the cost. Other then that I recommend their pies. I've never once tried a strawberry rhubarb pie. As a dessert lover how does that even happen? To begin, this pie's crust is perfect, buttery and flaky and chewy in the most delicious way. I have been hearing about Pie Snob pies for years, but I only recently tried them at their new location in Arcadia. I tried their chocolate pie and their race day pie. The ladies who worked in the shop said the chocolate pie was like 'eating your feelings'.... ha! I thought it was good, but could stand to have a richer chocolate filling. I probably wouldn't order that one again. The race day pie, on the other hand, was crazy good. It was a pecan pie with chocolate in it.... how can you go wrong with that? The slices were large...the husband and I ended up eating the 2 slices over several days... and the prices were decent at around 4.50 per slice. I'd like to go back to try more of their offerings. read more

I will say this place is appropriately named. We have been in twice on a Sunday around noon and they have NO pie, just a surly girl behind the counter. This is a small pie shop. We ordered a slice of key lime and apple crumble. We asked for them to warm the apple crumble and it was the bomb. The key lime was ok. It wasn't​ tart enough for me and the size of the slice was very small for the price. I did buy a whole apple crumb pie to take to a Super Bowl party and the pie was a hit. If you want reliable service, look elsewhere. We ordered two pies a week in advance, called again in between the order and pick-up, and paid for the pies. We arrived to pick them up and to everyone's surprise our pies weren't ready--in fact, they hadn't even been made. There was no record of our order that the employee could find, despite the $48 having been withdrawn from my bank account, and despite the voicemail they had left confirming our pickup date. We were asked if we could come back three days later (?!) to pick them up, or simply be refunded. We needed something for the event we had originally ordered them for, so we took two pies they had left in the fridge.
