I absolutely love Mamma Toledo's The Pie Hole and this week I shared the love at work to have Pie Palooza. The overall winner was the Strawberry Fields Forever pie, but every pie had their fans. Irish Whiskey Apple came in 2nd place they seemed to prefer the less sweet version of this apple pie, I just wanted a scoop of ice cream with this one. Hard Whiskey Pecan came in 3rd place. Not going to lie, I prefer Mamma's other pecan pie for the sweetness, but the people loved this one for how balanced it was. As far as ordering in advance it was great using Mamma's online order system and was read for pickup when I got there. The person in shop had it out fast. Mamma has some new fans in my workplace. read more

This is a charming little pie shop with a little bit of seating both inside and out front. The vibe was casual and inviting, with classic rock and songs like Time of the Season by the Zombies playing through the speakers. Some of tables were dirty but the staff seemed to be working on her own, so maybe she just didn't get atound to wiping them down. She was friendly as I placed my order at the register, and provided sufficient service on Saturday afternoon. Breakfast items weren't available after 12 noon, which I would have preferred, so I ended up getting the chicken pot pie. The pie was served warm, and the filling was made up of three main ingredients, chicken, carrots, and potatoes, all wrapped in a slightly crunchy pastry crust. Tucked into a small strip mall, I was not prepared for what was waiting behind the doors at Mamma Toledo's! Pies, pies and more pies! Any kind of pie you could want! We typically ordered the mini pies because they are perfect for sharing. Our favorites are the key lime, coconut cream, banana cream, triple chocolate, chocolate peanut butter and lemon meringue pies. I've purchased their quiches for a few brunch dates and they are always a hit. I really don't think there is anything at Mamma Toledos that isn't a delicious masterpiece! read more

Dropped in and purchased a chocolate cream pie. Crust was awesome, filling did not taste very chocolatie, and the consistency was very thick and firm, not smooth and creamy. My rabbi, his wife, adult daughters recently came back from a cruise with Covid. Via her website, I ordered a pickup of one of her large decided to drop off a bacon, potato, and cheddar quiche to drop off at their home. We dropped it off this past Tuesday, at noon. Mamma and her crew had baked it fresh that morning and it was still warm when we picked it up. Today, only 48 hours after delivering this quiche, we got sent this picture. There aren't any crumbs! These people aren't big eaters...they're skinny. And there were only two of them. And they're recovering from Covid, which probably zapped their appetites. Pecan Pie was miserable. This place thinks it's a bakery? Learn how to make a pecan pie, which was $8 for a small. It was watery and not tight and wasn't close to a real pecan pie. Bunch of amateurs here and no parking spots in the tiny lot either. read more

I love a good pie. We usually go to a different pie place but we didn't like the menu and it was undone birthday weekend. He wanted a lemon meringue pie and so we found mamma toledos on Reddit and decided to give them a try. Holy guacamole am I glad we did! The lemon meringue pie was one of the best, possibly the best one I've had. And the key lime pie I got, it was the bomb! The crust was so good! It wasnt graham cracker crust but like some caramel and nut crust. The strawberry rhubarb was pretty good, the crust was great but I feel like it could've used some lemon, just something to brighten it up a little. Overall, this was a really good find and I'm pretty sure this will be our new pie place because the prices are pretty reasonable! Also the service was great! There weren't any lemon meringue pies on display and our son was upset. However they had just finished making some and it made him so happy. I went over there to try one of their breakfast items and to get a pie cause they had a special. I was not impressed. I got a biscuit sandwich and it was the worst thing I've ever eaten. It's very like processed. Did not taste like a good biscuit or like egg it was one piece of bacon in it, and it was like processed cheese. I had to throw most of it away. I bought a pie. It tasted good except the crust was not very good. It was definitely not Crisco kind of crust and they said they used Crisco. I prefer butter crust and would pay more for it anyway I will not be back. Seems like a popular place, but I don't know why. The pollen was kind of expensive. read more

Not sure what is going on with Mama Toledo's but the chicken pot pies we had were not good at all, the crust tasted off. And the desert pies had a different flavor to them. Maybe she got a new cook or switched her vendor, or switched from butter to lard, but if I had never tried her pies before and this was my first time, I would not return. I'll give it one more try, but this was extremely disappointing for the price. For someone who specializes in pie, I would think the pie would always be spectacular. read more

My husband and I bought a personal size key lime pie. I was not expecting the level of deliciousness that little pie delivered. The crust had a great flavor and texture. The key lime filling was win too! The perfect blend of tart and sweet and the smooth & creamy texture to enjoy in each mouthful! Best everything!!! Best pie ever.... But wait chicken pot pies are mind boggling !!!! Must must must!!!!

Stopped in and picked up a mini- mixed berry pie to complement a nice dinner I was fixing at home. This was delicious. The berries, the crust- YUM! Also got a couple frozen pot pies one green chili and 1 chicken. Had these a couple days ago and the chicken was delicious but the green chili lacked the normal robust flavor it has always had. I've eaten these for years and enjoyed but hadn't for a few months. They have a beef pot roast one now as well which is on my list. The young gentleman in the front was helpful and courteous as well. Holy pies galore! This place has any pie that you crave. They even have breakfast pies! Service was quick and friendly and the spot was small and cozy. This trip we got a mini chocolate cream pie and mini key lime pie. The chocolate was creamy and had good flavor but not one of my top choices. My great grandmother owned her own bakery in New York & we come from a family of bakers who love baking cookies, cakes, & all kinds of pies. Everything from scratch, always. Visited this lil pie truck at the Arrowhead Farmers Market. Ladies were friendly and I knew what I wanted. I had been eyeing this shop for awhile so I was excited to finally try it. I got the key lime pie. First, this is the perfect size! Enough to satisfy that craving! The key lime was tart but not too much, perfectly tangy with enough sweetness. I loved it! Also loved the graham cracker crust! (Wish the crust went up the side but just a tiny gripe) Will definitely purchase again and can't wait to try some other flavors! I'm a picky critic as I come from a long line of southern cooks who are amazing pie bakers. We ordered the chicken, beef, and green chili pork pot pies. All were fantastic! We also ordered an apple, strawberry fields forever, pecan and sweet potato pie. Had a big family lunch and everyone raved. Not to mention, the owner is as sweet and friendly as she is beautiful. Their potato curry pie is delicious. Their quiche's are also delicious both the spinach and the bacon.

I wanted to like it so badly and rate it higher but I was just not impressed. We tried the coconut cream pie and the filling was good but the crust was so salty that we found it unpleasant. We also tried a slice of the chocolate espresso cheesecake, we were also not impressed, definitely more espresso than chocolate. It was bitter and the texture resembled more a cream pie than a cheesecake. They did have great customer service and I'm sure the flavors are a hit with lots of people, just wasn't for us. read more

I've been going on road trips to Arizona for winter vacation. On the last trip I was hoping to try a peach pie at Mama Toledo's. The website indicated I should order online but online ordering was down when I tried to order. I emailed my request and was told to call in the morning to reserve a pie. I called a few times but nobody picked up the phone. I visited in the afternoon and they had run out of peach pies. Instead I tried a few other pies. Chicken pot pie had a crunchy crust and a balanced mix of chicken, carrots, and potatoes. Strong buttery flavor. Great tasting pie. One pie is the perfect size for lunch. Banana cream pie had a crunchy flaky crust. Loved the mix of flavors from the bananas, buttery crust, and whipped cream. Among the best banana cream pies I've had. I visited Mama Toledo's in 2019 and enjoyed her apple pie so it's likely the peach pie is good. Maybe I'll get one on my next road trip if the ordering system is fixed. read more

My sister and her husband threw a southern bbq for family and friends last weekend. I went to Mama Toledo's for a key lime pie, they were sold out. Mama Toledo suggested the brown sugar peach pie. Can't get more southern than that, great recommendation. Everybody loved it. While picking up my pie I had the green chili burrito and it was excellent. We went at about 3:00 PM and we were the only ones in the store at the time. The lady behind the counter was very sweet and fast with our togo order. They were out of the Apple Crumble, but the cashier packed a fresh one from the oven for me. Very warm and perfect with ice cream!
