Unique, delicious pizza. Great bar. Friendly staff. An atmosphere far cooler than a pizza place has any right to be. What more could a person want? On a Saturday evening, we were able to get two seats at the pizza bar without a wait. Not the regular bar mind you--which looks great--no, this is where you watch the pizza makers craft their delicious art. We ordered the Prosciutto pizza, an interesting but wonderful blend of flavors including house-made ricotta, medjool dates, pistachios, and balsamic vinegar. Sounds strange, tastes GREAT. Currently tied for favorite pizza place in the DFW (with Pizzeria Testa), I highly recommend trying it out! read more

I ordered DoorDash, and when I received my order the pizza crust was so hard I couldn't eat it. Called the restaurant and they offered to replace pizza. Turns out the oven was not working properly. OMG!!! So yummy!!! Amazing pizza and you have to get their chicken parm... my 2 year old ate the Arugula and spaghetti like it was heaven here on earth!!! We even shared our chocolate cake with the table next to us, they had a sweet golden retriever that tried to give all the kisses he could. Not most people think to have pizza for brunch but Pie Tap does it right. Definitely the underdog of brunches in Dallas and probably one of my favorites. Also, a VERY affordable brunch option (see booze options below). If you love a pizza with a nice bubbly crust, these are the pizzas for you. The crust is not too thin, but not too thick... just enough structure to maneuver delicious toppings into your mouth. I've had the regular pizzas here and the brunch pizzas are equally as good (my favorites are the Mushroom + Egg Pie and Sausage + Egg Pie). Don't forget your goat cheese fondue, marinara, and ricotta ranch dipping sauces. Brunch doesn't just stop at the pizzas. The cinnamon rolls and donuts are to die for. If you want something more savory, try the goat cheese fondue. Want some booze? You'll be covered with $2 frosés and $10 carafes of mimosa (pick orange, pineapple or even blackberry). This restaurant has an outdoor patio if you'd like to bask in the sun or bring your furry friends. The staff is also very attentive-the manager even greeted us during brunch. Wowzer. I think I'm more impressed after this 2nd visit than I was on my 1st encounter. Apparently, I came into the restaurant on one of their busier nights, and they also started using a new POS (point of sales system). Anyways, long story short my order was on the receiving end of a food mis-hap. Yikes! I was slightly disappointed because I was really looking forward to eating right away, but the team jumped right on it once they realized what happened. Gilbert (my server) and the hostess were prompt to address and loop in the team once they found out. Jake (manager) was quick to come over and apologize - he was extremely kind and appreciated the feedback. Most folks don't share that kind of same genuine concern - it was like everyone at PieTap really cared and wanted to make it right. I slightly can't help but be jaded on this, but they genuinely all cared and wanted to make it right. The food was on-point! Amazing in flavor and taste. The meatballs - everything and some. Absolutely delicious. I ordered: caesar salad, meatballs, and a pie (sausage and pepperoni). If my stomach could hold more I would have eaten dessert too! My partner and I came here on Christmas Eve! Service was very quick and the waiter informative. We ordered one Magherita pizza with double toppings. It was GREAT. The toppings were fresh and the cooked perfectly. We didn't know they charged extra for sauces and the grated cheese. That was off-putting when we received the check. All in all we will be back. My friend and I were in Dallas for the day and decided to try this place out! Service was incredible, our server was so nice and knowledgeable in regards to the menu. Hmmm.... where to begin Well I'll start with the fact that they carry Austin Pineapple cider on draft - so that was what brought us here and when I called we made a reservation and the girl was very friendly. We arrived on time and enjoyed that the GPS took us down Mercedes St and we got the scenic tour of many beautiful homes on our way. We lucked out getting a parking space but noticed they offer valet that works off tips. We were sat in a cozy 4 top with two chairs and a cushy seated bench that was covered in crumbs but I swept it away. Note to self- hmmmm ???? But we lucked out with a great server, Daryl who was a top notch server!!!! We tried the charcuterie board, chicken Parmesan and mushroom pie. Everything was delicious. I wasn't crazy about the entire egg on the pizza but very interesting. Timing was great but I wish they had bused the table a little better. The chocolate ganache cake was good. Especially with the pecans and for whatever reason we got it for free. So thank you! It was my favorite of the two. The veggie was nice too though. The basil pesto sauce was a nice, fresh base to compliment those fresh veggies. My favorite pizza place in Dallas! And I really have been to them all...Pie tap's pizza dough is unlike no other. The Prosciutto pizza is bar far the best! The arugula on top with balsamic on top - AMAZE. Pepperoni and mushroom pizzas are a close second. The chicken meatballs are my favorite appetizer - don't let the 'chicken' part scare you. These meatballs are legit! Cesar salad is also delicious. There is a heavy lemon taste to it which makes it a great starter! Brunch is also awesome here. What amazing customer service from Pie Tap Design District! The short of it, I ordered from a well-known food delivery app for Pie Tap and simply put the restaurant never received my order from the delivery app Not once but twice. I called the restaurant and a very professional and amazing manager named Amanda listened to my situation! She followed up on the order and noted they had never received it. I ordered again while she was on the phone, again no order on their end. She took my order, and had the food made and offered to bring it to me herself or find a way to get it to me if the delivery app didn't respond. She didn't have to but followed up with me as well about the delivery of my order and if it was delivered or not (yes it was). That is amazing customer service by someone who cared about her customer. Amanda you were my hero that night! Thank you so much! This joint really is as amazing as everyone on here says it is; from the fresh and organic marinara to the house made ricotta ranch, you just can't get much better than that. James is pretty freaking awesome too; a Jeffrey Dean Morgan look alike who makes that special drive from Ft. Worth daily because he just loves his job that dang much. I call this dedication folks.....pure old fashioned dedication. When someone loves their job that much, it shows because you're friendlier, nicer, more knowledgeable, and just overall a better person....well in my opinion. We started with the chicken meatballs which are a must. I don't think a beef/veal/sausage meatball will ever taste the same. The salami pizza is your typical "meat lovers" at other pizzerias. The fennel sausage was the winner here....coming from a gal that even despises the aroma of pork sausage, let alone the taste. The pork flavor was mild and could very well be disguised as beef to someone not as familiar. I must say, the photos on yelp make the pies appear bigger than they actually are. I wouldn't say I have a vast appetite, but I could probably handle one all by my lonesome without an appetizer. Two stars at best...and that's only for the pizza dough which is quite good. Went on a weekend late afternoon, the place was packed and all they had was outside seating, with a couple fans that barely moved air and you're basically sitting next to the heated cars parking lot, poor design. Our waiter was very invasive (and rude, made a couple off color inappropriate jokes) and while I think he was trying to be funny, he wasn't succeeding. In the hour we were there he cane over no less than ten times, to check on us, to see if we needed more drinks, to see if we liked the starter, to see if we liked the pizza, to see if we wanted a check, to see if we wanted separate checks...etc. I waited table for 10yrs and this was just ridiculous. Annoying is the best word I can use, he really made me not want to come back. The food. Well let's start with the "large" salad, it came out in 1min and here's why: it was eleven pieces of WHOLE romaine lettuce with huge slices of park and six soggy oil soaked croutons. I couldn't believe this was consider a salad. what a joke, for $12!!! they could at least cut the lettuce and mix a proper salad. You can see my picture. The pizza. Well that was okay, we ordered based on waiter recommendation and it was basically all cold salad on top of hot pizza dough. The ricotta was weird and liquid and cold and the arugula was good the pieces of prosciutto were so large and uncut that if you took one bite ALL of the toppings ended up in your lap. However the saving grace and the reason this review gets two stars is the dough and the drinks. The dough was very very good and the drinks well they are adequately priced. Overall I won't be recommending this place and won't be returning unless something significantly changes. read more

They had to take the order from us and start from scratch. We left a house full of company to pick it up. It was pre paid. What a wonderful addition to the Henderson corridor. Great selection of wine on tap and Happy Hour gives you $2 off each pour.. We started with Garlic Knots, which come with a provolone/asaigo whipped creation you can eat with a spoon. Marinara for dipping is extra, which does seem a bit cheap at $8 for 4 knots, but it is delicious. Fresh ingredients shine on basics like Pepperoni pizza ($14) to the Salami pizza ($16), which could be more aptly named the "Meat Lovers with its combination of fennel sausage, salami, pepperoni and bacon, along with fresh mozzarella! We ordered 2 pies for three adults and it was perfect.. I ordered the Workshop salad ($13), which was excellent and more than enough to share. Service was excellent.. We visited early on a Thursday evening and it quickly packed so reservations are a must. Also, the parking lot is small, but there is valet at the rear of the lot, not easily visible from Henderson. We walked in around 4pm on Monday and were seated right away. The parking lot is very small and there's not a lot of street parking, but our waiter said they have valet on weekends. Our waiter, Henry, was great! He answered every question we had and made some really great suggestions for us to try! Everything he suggested we ended up loving. Seasonal Moscow Mule - It had raspberries in it and was really refreshing and delicious. Raspberry + Basil Mojito - Another great drink. Garlic Knots w/ organic marinara dipping sauce - Yum! You really should get these! Make sure to order the marinara with it - it's amazing. Prosciutto Pie - Really good. The pistachios add an unexpected crunch and the basalmic vinegar gives it a nice zing. Chicken Pie - It has a bit of a kick from the pepperocini , so if you don't like spicy, make sure to get them to take it off Goat Cheese Fondue dipping sauce for the "bones" - I honestly didn't love it. We may have found ourselves guilty of overindulging in Pie Tap when it was the new kid on the block and took a purposeful hiatus to protect the sanctity of their crust and ricotta ranch. Today was our return to an old friend and things went pretty well. We opened with a raspberry mojito and a beer for myself. Ordering on tap is more of a judgement of the brewery than the restaurant but I'll slide Pie Tap a couple points for cool temperature and clarity that it wasn't an "end of the keg" offering. Laura loved her mojito and was quick to offer it five stars. I'll reflect her feelings in the overall rating. We had the garlic knots as an appetizer and they lived up to old expectations. Flavorful, strong bite, good texture. The whipped butter is the perfect companion and we made quick work of them. The pizza is going to get mixed reviews and I'd be dishonest if I said everything was sunshine and rainbows. Let's start with the BBQ Chicken Pie. It was good but the chicken was not memorable. The addition of fresh red onion and banana peppers was a welcome uptick to the flavor profile. We both agreed the BBQ sauce was surprisingly good. The Salami Pie which registered such good memories for me let me down significantly. There were some failures on execution. We requested an egg over the top of the pie and upon arrival we were met with a pair of eggs, one for each half. One of the eggs was severely overcooked to the point that the texture was a distraction from the overall flavor profile. The other half of the pizza had a decent egg but still overcooked. I feel led to cast harsh judgement on the overall pie but I recognize that we requested a departure from the original recipe when adding the egg and I accept some responsibility for that. What we ate wasn't great and for sure had some execution issues but based off tasting the individual ingredients I would give it another chance as originally intended. Service: 4/5. Pie Tap was really good! I went with a friend and her bf as a farewell dinner, and I ended up ordering half prosciutto, half pepperoni. The pizza was smaller than I expected, but the dough was really savory and similar to sourdough bread. While the pizza was great, the service was not. We had finished as much pizza as we could finish, and our server took away our plates. My friend had ordered donuts for dessert, so we were chilling while waiting for the donuts. However, after about 20 minutes, no one had come to check up on us, offer to get us to go boxes, etc. we ended up flagging down our server after an additional 5 minutes and telling him we were ready for our donuts. The donuts were also really good as well, chewy and sweet as expected. After asking for our checks, I decided to circumvent the mediocre service and directly hand the checks to the closest server. I legitimately don't understand how it could take so long to check up on your guests, especially after taking away plates. We were also seated in the middle of the restaurant, so it was literally impossible to miss us. It was a bit busy, but not busy to the point that you could miss a table in the middle of the place??
