This place is phenomenal with a wide selection of menu options. It was highly recommended by my daughter who actually treated me out. We ordered the pizza which was half margarita & chicken barbecue. They mistakenly made it half pepperoni & chicken barbecue. The manager John came over to our table to apologize that they had messed up on our order. He told us that while we waited on our order we could enjoy the pepperoni pizza with chicken barbecue that they had made. I actually enjoyed the pepperoni better than chicken barbecue whIch is my daughter favorite. That was really nice of the manager to do. We enjoyed the great service from Maddi always checkIng on us and even brought us a free cinnamon bun being that it was our first time at that location and base on a February promotion they have going on for new customers. We are big fans, go there every week. Every 2 weeks its perfect but then the kitchen gets lazy. Every pizza was burnt, ours and everywhere we looked. What was really aggravating was I saw the manager delivering burnt pizzas when he should have been doing his job and have them redone. I have seen managers at other restaurants send burned pizza back, (Taverna). You know most people will eat a burnt pizza and don't know that they can send it back. This is just not acceptable for the kitchen staff and manager to be this inept. You need to do better, this is not acceptable. read more

I am a FAN! I'm a total pizza snob as I'm a Jersey girl at heart, but this place is a hit. I have eaten here twice now (two weeks in a row to be exact) and I cannot get enough. I love the setup of the bar from the comfy chairs, outdoor seating with fire pits, and the bar. The kitchen is open so you can watch the chefs pay special attention to detail as they craft pizzas and other dishes. Our servers were attentive and friendly and their delivery service is pretty speedy. You get a LOT of pizza for a decent price and unless you are starving, you will be able to take some home to enjoy it later. I'm a huge fan of the sausage pizza and my friend enjoyed dipping her crust into the dipping sauces. Our drinks were strong and I can't think of any negative feedback for the establishment. Pie Tap is not only my fave pizza place but one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas! I regularly order from the Henderson location and from the Design District location whenever I need to get lunch for our team! It is always a crowd pleaser. I really admire how much Pie Tap has stepped up in service/variety/creativity when the pandemic hit. The meal kits were all such a great value and the frosé too. Service continued to be exceptional. At both locations, employees are always so kind and helpful. And the food is always fresh and ready when I arrive to pick up. I cannot say enough good things! I also love that they are always so attentive to special instructions such as when I request a large order of salad to be split into smaller, individual portions. Really appreciate that this request is always honored by the tremendous team at Pie Tap! Great place. Ambience is super cool inside, they have a great selection of drinks at the bar, service was superb and of course the pies really are tasty... tip: get the dipping sauces--they are good. Since I haven't been to Italy, and I was too drunk to remember the great pizza I know I had NYC, this is my finest memory of pizza. And I'm drooling thinking about it. YES. MY NEIGHBORHOOD PIZZA JOINT! I love that I can walk here, and although now it may be getting too cold, I enjoy sitting out on the patio with my pup! (The heaters and fire pits are pretty effective though). Pie Tap is kind of a total package for me...it's conveniently located, the ambience is nice without being too hipstery or industrial looking, the pizza crust is great and the toppings are good quality (love the pepperoni and mushrooms that they use), they have a good (well better than most anyway) beer selection and interesting cocktails, servers are friendly (although sometimes they forget stuff but nothing big so far), the prices are decent and the wait is never too long (ahem Fireside and Zalat)...also they love my dog, which is always a plus in my book :p Plus $10 Tuesdays! Enjoyed a glass of Pinot with the workshop salad to start. The salami & cheese in the salad paired perfectly together (and also went well with the wine). Had 1/2 prosciutto & 1/2 margerita pizza. The prosciutto pizza really was the star of the show! Highly recommend! The pistachios on the pizza are subtle but really add to the dish. Their special crust is so good! I have driven past this restaurant several times and thought it looked interesting. Finally tried it out and I will definitely be back! We sat at the pizza bar and ordered two of the $10 Tuesday pies -- the prosciutto, full of that yummy meat plus dates, pistachios, arugula, and balsamic vinegar, with a large dollop of ricotta on each slice, was divine. The mushroom pizza included bacon and a sunny side up egg on top, which is usually not my thing but the flavors were terrific together. The crust was tasty and perfectly cooked. Sitting at the pizza bar, we saw the staff rolling up something that looked fantastic, so we ordered appetizers for AFTER the pizza, called Spiedini -- a huge skewer of fontina cheese wrapped in prosciutto that was baked in the oven, cheesy melty yummy goodness. If we hadn't been so stuffed, we would have definitely tried out the house-made doughnuts, but that's for another visit. On 8/6/2020, my granddaughter had an unpleasant experience at the Henderson location. Several members of the wait staff and host, refuse to serve them. I told her to chalk it up professional ignorance. Also, when requested to speak to the manager, he also displayed professional ignorance. The sad part, my granddaughter was getting a lesson on proper tipping. The goal was to give above the 15%, $100 above the amount of the bill. Best pie in town right now. Perfect crust. Not too thin and not too thick. Just enough chew without being doughy and has a crust that isn't too hard but still has a snap to it. We've tried about half a dozen of their specialty pies and they were all great. Generous toppings but maintained the optimal ratio of toppings, sauce, cheese and crust. They also give you sauces that you can dip your crust into. Besides the pies they have amazing pastas as well. Their pappardelle bolognese was one of the best pasta dishes in town. Pasta was chewy and perfectly cooked and the meat sauce was thick, rich and stuck to the pasta. Amazing. Oh and the simple salad is so well done. It is simple indeed like a salad should be. But executed so well with fresh greens and a very lite dressing. Good wine list, a dog friendly patio and consistently great service give this place a solid 5 stars. Followed by the veggie pizza, the lemon zest really added something to the pizza I haven't tasted before. So delicious and an awesome crust. It shouldn't be that hard to get it right. We ordered a simple pepperoni and Italian Sausage pizza. I was pumped because the bartender said they get there sausage from Jimmys Food store but it's stupid link sausge...yuck. The worst sausage they could have picked from Jimmys considering they have some amazing ground Italian Sausage that's spicy and full of flavor! And then there's the crust that was absolutely blah! I think this might be my new favorite pizza spot in Dallas. It's always hard for me to pick one because I like different joints for different reasons. Cane Rosso is always at the top - quality ingredients, amazing dough, good appetizers as well as good pizzas, respectable cocktails. Sometimes I want a spectacle and I get a kick out of fighting for a seat at Serious Pizza. Or maybe I've been out late and I want a floppy, greasy slice from Greenville Avenue Pizza. Fireside Pies is always a win for some unique twists on pizza ingredients on a nice flavorful crust (not to mention some great desserts). I've always enjoyed Olivella's in University Park as well - it was easily in the top 3 for years. Grimaldi's and Dough? I wouldn't kick them out of bed. But Pie Tap? Good god people... what have you created? This is some killer pizza right here. I feel like it pulls in elements of all the things I love from each of the other great pizza choices in Dallas and wraps it into one beautiful, cheesy package. Their veggie pizza is far and away the best veggie pizza I've had anywhere. I've eaten at Paulie Gee's in Brooklyn and this vegetarian pizza beats anything I had there. I'm not sure if there is some underground meeting of pizza lords that makes a unified decision to put bell peppers, black olives, onions, and mushrooms on every veggie pizza but I'm glad Pie Tap skipped that meeting, because their toppings of chili oil, broccolini, eggplant, and fontina make veggie pizzas everywhere else look like freezer burned bagel bites. Their cheese fondue appetizer is pretty good, mainly for the rosemary puff that comes with it. I found the cheese itself to be slightly lacking in salt, and because it's served in a regular bowl rather than a fondue pot it gets cold quickly. That didn't stop us from wiping the edges of the bowl clean with our pizza crusts after the fondue had been on the table for a good 15 minutes. The salad I had was fresh and crisp. I sampled three different cocktails that were ordered at my table, and while I don't drink very often I found them to be suitably stiff but not good enough that I would spend the money to order one again. My opinion on this varies from most however, so take it with a grain of salt seeing as I only have a handful of alcoholic beverages a year. We also tried their chocolate cake and quickly wished it had come with more pecans. It was very dark and balanced nicely with the whipped cream they served with it. We split it 3 ways and it was still an insane amount of dessert for our insatiable trio. Overall I would say it was a good cake, but not the best - so I'd rather spend my dessert calories elsewhere. If it's on the table nobody is going to stop me from shoveling it into my face though. You can expect to use valet parking if you go here (it's complimentary but you probably want to bring cash for a tip) and from what I've seen the place can get quite busy. The times we've gone we have used OpenTable to make reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Service was pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere is definitely casual cool with the vast majority of seating being bar stool style. Music is playing but not so loudly that we couldn't converse with each other. I'm not sure I'd call this place kid friendly, but I did see at least one kid there when I was dining on a weeknight. Overall I have to say that Pie Tap is highly recommended - I'll definitely be going back. read more

Pros: -the interior is really big and seats a ton of people -service is great -food is seemingly the same Cons: -parking is an obvious issue in this location -this location's pizza was missing the yummy saltiness I love about pie tap's dough...maybe it was just this batch? So, during our visit the runners had no idea what table the food belonged to. We were there almost two hours and for the first 45 minutes we had at least 8-10 different runners bring us food that wasn't ours. Our food of course went through the same process as this. One of the members of my party asked for riesling, a runner came out and asked if someone order white wine. My friend said she order riesling, could that be it? The woman put the drink up to her nose, smelled it and said yeah she thought it was. Now, with all the issues Trey, the manager comped our pizza and they were extremely apologetic. So I would've still given this place another chance, but... Their COMPLIMENTARY VALET stole my Iphone adapter. Their parking lot fits maybe 7-10 cars so you really have no choice but to use valet and they stole that little tiny adapter that makes my aux cord work with my Iphone!!! And I TIPPED VALET. So, I gave them money only to find out, once I drove off that they stole from me. It was on my aux cord before I went in because I used it and it's not something that just falls off. You literally have to snap it on and tug it off! So between the below mediocre service and the valet that steals, I will not be returning! read more

Went to Pie Tap yesterday. They do have some of the best pizzas in town if you haven't tried it before. I've been there several times and it's always been great. The patio is awesome too, you have a great view of downtown Dallas. My wife and I went for happy hour. Food is pretty good (I got the carbonara pasta--- thick-cut al dente pasta that tasted very fresh, cream-based sauce but a little bit bland, however a lot of crunchy bacon and a perfectly poached egg on top balanced it nicely). It could've used more seasoning in the sauce or some parmesan or something to finish it off. Have not tried their pizza. My only thing is the price--- a lunch portion of pasta (which was NOT very big) was almost $18 after tax. More than I usually spend on lunch. It was good but I can't justify making it a regular haunt. I don't get pizza often, but I'm really glad I got to try Pie Tao while in Dallas with some friends! They have some really really delicious, unique, artisan pizzas! Like most place in Dallas, pie tap has that modern/rustic boujee feel to it. They have plenty of seating, but parking is a little more difficult. When I went with a party of 6 at 6pm on a Thursday, we were seated immediately (thankfully). And we made it just in time for happy hour! Consisting of $5 old fashioned and $2 off beer. For our table of 6, we ordered a side of the goat cheese and three pizzas: sausage, margherita, mushroom. And wow, the pizzas really impressed me! Especially the sausage and the mushroom pizza. The sausage was a little cheesier than the others and had really flavorful sausage with some caramelized onions that made for a delectable taste. The mushroom pizza though really sealed the deal for me; it had a slightly runny egg on top that made me love it! (Although it did make it harder to eat). We usually order 1 "regular" pizza, 1 gluten-free pizza, and ordered a kid's meal for our son and daughter to split - all EXCELLENT with great flavor and dipping sauces we will forever crave with our pies. Darrell and Q are out usual servers and are both fantastic but Darrell is usually who's section we are seated in and really has gone the extra mile, learning what we like, understanding the chaos of eating with kids, and is always 1 step ahead of our needs.
