If I could give 3.5 stars I would, but I'm giving 3 based more on the pizza than the overall experience. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday. I think it was late for lunch, maybe around 2pm or so. It wasn't too crowded. I could see it being a very popular place for the evening and weekend crowds. I sat at the bar and the bartender gave me very good service. The drink selection looked very good, but I was working and on my lunch break so I couldn't partake. The pizza took a bit longer to come out than I would have expected for how slow they were at the time. The pizza was good, but nothing about it really stood out. It was well done and the crust was probably the best part. I don't get that crazy with my toppings so it was just a pepperoni pizza. Maybe they have some more exciting specialty pizzas. I might give them another try if I'm in the area with friends and I'm not working. Probably won't drop in again for a work lunch though. Just too expensive for a lunch break for a pizza that didn't stand out. read more

I love pizza so I don't know if it's better than the rest of the competition but if you are always on the lookout for a pizza spot that is consistent this is a good place to start your search. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: I have changed my rating from my original post. The owners have personally reached out to me let me know they have resolved this issue. There is nothing better a business who cares about their customers. I will update again after I re-visit. Again, I loved this restaurant. I can't wait to see your success. Welcome to the neighborhood! Pros: I was blown away by the waiting staff. They were attentive, helpful, and polite. Each cocktail I received was phenomenal. I loved their hummus, it was authentic and each vegetable on the board seemed as if they carefully picked them out. Their bread and pasta sauce sets them apart from the rest. Cons: The complimentary blanket could've been washed before I received it. The blanket had some crusty and sticky substances on it *ew. The worst part was their valet service. It turned my happy experience into not wanting to return. There is hardly any parking on the weekend, so the business provides complimentary valet. (Their parking lot is slim of spots.) Which would be a polite and sincere gesture if the valet was not confrontational. Before you could even get in your car he rudely stands at your door and says "We get paid off of tips." In an aggressive tone and says it multiple times until you give him his tip. Advice: Change your valet to a company who reflects the same value and respect for their customers as YOU do in your restaurant. Also, please wash your blankets for sanitary reasons. read more

So very sad to report that this place is rapidly going down hill. Maybe a change in management ? Not sure. The last brunch experience was horrible. Server was rude and spoke in only mono-syllables. The Prosecco was completely flat. They brought out 3 carafes of exactly the same thing ... flat every time. I watched the manager at the bar test it, look around, and go "good enough". Wow, really ? So dissatisfied with that kind of service. Unfortunately we will not be back. I don't think they will care, since the place is pretty busy all the time. My family comes here every time we visit relatives in Dallas, and it some of the best pizza! The dough is amazing-- you can really taste how much time and effort was put into making it. I love all of the pizzas especially the wild ones with "odd" flavor combinations (they know how to make stuff work). Not only is the food great, but so is the customer service. Fantastic gluten free pizza. I recently got back from Chicago and had some gluten free pizza there and Pie Tap's gluten free pizza was way better than the pizza I ate in Chicago. The service is great and drinks are refreshing. I had a bug in my drink and told the bartender, and he was more than gracious to replace my drink with a brand new glass and that was wonderful. This has to be one of my absolute favorite places for pizza in Dallas because the texture of the dough is a cut above the rest of gluten free doughs, since there isn't really that sweet flavor from using a specific flour - it tastes like a normal dough with good texture and the flavor from the tomato sauce combined with the meat and cheese was perfect. I stopped in last week while shopping in the Design District, and when my husband and I returned this weekend to shop, I prioritized having lunch here over anything near Northpark. I had the sausage pizza last week, and the margherita today, while my husband had the chicken meatballs. Everything was fresh, house-made and delicious! The pizza crust was perfect, and the focaccia served with the meatballs was amazing. (I didn't taste the meatballs but my husband loved them!) We traveled in Italy for 2weeks a couple of years ago, and that will ruin most Italian for you, but this place ranks with anything we had there! read more

My roomie and I had the lunch special of half a pie and salad. We both had Caesar salads, I had the Salami pie and she had the Sausage Pie. Our biggest regret?? I went here for the first time last night. It was fine. I won't avoid it in the future, but I won't suggest it either. The Food I ordered a hot toddy, which was fine but not special. For dinner, I split a Margherita pizza with a girl friend. It was delicious. Very good. But not the best around; I still much prefer Cane Rosso. However, since many people don't like the soft centers of Cane Rosso's Neapolitan pizzas, this might be a safer pizza place option in general. For dessert, they brought my bday girl friend an order of Bombolini (the warm doughnuts and chocolate dip); it was very good. Overall for food, I wouldn't subtract any stars, but I wouldn't give them bonus stars either. The Service I took a half star off for service. It wasn't bad but could be improved. There were 14 of us (with reservation) but even so the service was very slow. My simple Margherita pizza was oddly the last to be served. They never refilled our water. Most people's drink orders took ages, but mine arrived in a timely manner. We had a nice waitress. The Atmosphere I took a star and a half off for atmosphere. Most annoying was the obnoxiously loud music. It was ridiculous. Also, at the large table they sat us, we sat on backless stools which was very uncomfortable; after two hours of that last night, I now have a minor backache. The bathroom is very awkward and insufficient. There is only one toilet for each sex, which seems not enough for a space that size. And the awkward part: the women's sink/mirror was outside the bathroom right beside the men's sink/mirror. While it's only slightly awkward to wash your hands beside a man who exits his bathroom at the same time, it is terribly awkward if you want to primp using the mirror or check your teeth for food. read more

This was my second Pie Tap experience, the first being at their other location in the art district. And my second experience was just as great! This particular location feels a little more casual (just a teensy bit) than the other. Maybe its the covered patio area. Regardless, on a Friday night at prime time my fiancé and I were able to get a seat at the bar. From there we ordered our favorite items. The garlic knots (my god the butter is sooo good), a pepperoni pizza, and the chicken parm. All of the items came out super fast and were delicious. We both had two glasses of red wine. Throughout our meal our bartender was very attentive. At one point, it looks like an order was wrong and we were offered a free pizza if we wanted it. If we weren't planning on walking around Greenville we would have gladly taken it to go! Sitting here now I regret my decision. Anyways! Seriously, if you like good pizza and Italian fare with a bit of that America chic vibe then Pie Tap is just for you. It works for a casual dinner or a special date night. Be prepared to spend though. For the food and drinks I described above the tab was definitely $110ish so a bit pricey. But from my perspective, worth it. read more

I like how theirs isn't too thick or dense, has a bubbly sourdough-like flavor and feel. They will also grate fresh parmesan cheese on it for you. All their pies on the menu are only $10 on Tues. I got the Veggie (broccolini, eggplant, fontina, calabrian peppers) I Finally found a pizzeria to replace my favorite one that had closed down a year ago.
