Reservations are a must as this place is tiny. 10-11 seats at the bar, two booths that can seat 4-6 and four 2-tops. We went with a group of 10, so they pushed all the 2-tops together for us which was cozy but fine. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is thin, and the pizza is baked in a gas-fired oven which makes for a great tasting pie. But again, size is the issue as the last two of the five pizzas our group ordered came out about 10 minutes after the first three. Fortunately the extensive beer selection made the wait tolerable. This is a great pizza place. We found it while driving around lost.the staff is friendly, the food amazingly fresh, and so.... It's homey....heart warming. We intend to go again. Such an amazing place to eat! The artichoke dip is a meal in and of itself, and is wildly delicious. The pizza is amazing. One of the only places on the island where I could find an array of good beers to chose from. The interior is dark and small. Called in and placed a to go order. We walked in 15 minutes later and the pizza guy was on the phone for another 15 minutes before he fired up the oven and complained that he had to go and go to "fucking" work. He was given a dirty look by the manager and went to work on our pizzas. The pesto chicken pizza which was very dried and burnt and had no taste whatsoever. I would think that someone would taste for seasonings because it was absolutely bland. The other pizza the fungy peppy was good but also burnt on the bottom. We ordered a ceasars salad it was ok. We also ordered a cheese cake which was good and a brownie that was also good. So $65.00 later i was highly disappointed as was the rest of the people that ate it. According to the manager the bosses were in Arizona hopefully this was a fluke and someone is checking the food going out. So we threw away the pizzas and shared the salad and the desserts. Seriously smh because all of the yelpers out there love this place????? Never going back and i would highly not reccomend this pizza place. read more

There's island time and there's island time. We waited 15 minutes for the menu. Then we ordered 2 pizzas. One was delivered in reasonable time. The server said the other pizza was "overlooked" but wouldn't take long to make. So now the two people with the first pizza are finished before the server returns. She says: I'm sorry to inform you that your pizza fell apart in the oven. Huh? How is that even possible? Attempt #3: pizza finally comes 75 minutes after we order and it's wrong. We ordered a plain pizza (not too complicated) and got one with pepperoni. One of our party is vegetarian so that doesn't work. Then they bring it back and offer it to us for the price of the plain--in other words, if we eat the pepperoni we don't want, we won't have to pay for the pepperoni! We would still have to pay for the pizza however. Attempt #4? Pizza was as ordered except it was dramatically undercooked, making almost chewy. Oh, and my water was never filled. At least the server was apologetic and very nice. The first pizza was correct and delicious, to be fair. But not good enough to warrant the abominable service. The Pie Whole was recommended to my husband and I by the crew of the Verna Breeze, our sailboat charter stationed out of St. Thomas. After a week on a boat that served its own five star meals, we were encouraged to indulge our fancy at this little hole in the wall. Although the place is tiny in space (plenty of bar stools... but make a reservation OR get their early for a table), the flavors of the food and the selection of beer and liquor are huge. The pizza, baked in a traditional brick oven, was DELICIOUS and the Chip(otle) pasta was DIVINE. Unfortunately, in our daze of delight we forgot to order the mussels, which we were told by the crew are DELECTABLE. We were utterly amazed with our visit to the place... the food, ambiance, selection and staff amazed. Not to mention... the bathroom in the place is beautiful. read more

I love the $14 in 14 minutes lunch special. The pizza here is pretty good especially if you want a change of pace from the fast food fare. Where this place really shines though is their extensive collection of beer. I'm not talking Budweiser and Coors either (well they got those too), but imported beer from Belgium, England, Germany and even Scotland. They're also constantly adding new beer to their list. We were staying on St. Thomas for vacation and craving pizza one night. We found this small restaurant on yelp. What we expected to be a your basic pizza joint was much much more. Our experience started with an extensive beer list. Next we enjoyed some out of this world mushroom and duck confit risotto and pesto breadsticks as an appetizer. For dinner we shared one of their thin crust, wood oven pizzas. We finished the meal with bailys cheesecake. Everything here is made fresh and delicious. We normally avoid carbs and ordered plenty of salads, but also had to try the artichoke dip with jalapeño and were glad we did. I was recommended this place by a friend because of my big love of great beers, primarily belgian style ales and tripels. I was in St. Thomas for business and needed a place to grab dinner, and thought I would give it a shot. The place is small and intimate, and very busy, though I didn't wait hardly anything. Once I was in, I was served and taken care of extremely well and had a great time! The beer selection there is incredible. They had a huge selection of all types of beers, but my favorite belgian ales and even several I hadn't had before were on the menu. I had their special pizza of the night and a caprese salad which was also very delicious. Stopped a couple nights ago because the kids wanted pizza. So glad we did. The waiter was fantastic and the pizza was great. We had the meat livers and the crust was perfectly crisp, just like a brick oven pizza should be and the topping were high quality and plenty of them. We sat outside where it was warm and the waiter even brought me an extra beer on the house because it was hot and the had just taken a huge order right in front of use which made use wait a few extra minutes on our pizzas. On our recent trip to the islands, we made a point to get a reservation for the Pie Whole, as we missed out on dining here before, due to a lack of space. It's a small place. And it smells like heaven. The aroma of pizza crust and garlic make your mouth water when you walk in. On recommendations from Yelp! our table ordered the spinach artichoke dip. The awesome thing about this is, it's on a pizza crust so you don't have the issue of dip-to-bread ratio that happens when you just have toast points to spread the dip on. It's perfect, and cheesy and delicious. I had the "Chip" pasta which is a great combination of flavors and textures. Get it. It's great! Several in our group ordered pizza and loved every bit of it. The beer selection is probably unmatched on St. Thomas. If someone has a better beer list on this island, I want to know where it is! Go to the Pie Whole. You will not regret it!! read more

Once again I was slightly disappointed with the food on the island. I thought since I couldn't enjoy local island food, surely you can't mess up pizza, right? Well, it wasn't a complete disaster, but I had high hopes based on previous reviews. They were out of sausage. Good thing I'm cool with veggies. The crust did not have any flavor, and it was just a pizza. I've had better frozen pizza. I feel so bad writing this review because the people were very friendly so I gave them an extra star.
