Love the men options here! I am a sucker for goat cheese and am sweet potato's so this place really met my personal preferences. It is adjustable to what you're craving on the day, as each lunch item can be made into a wrap or panini or bowl. I went with the Farmer's Market Panini (Thinly Sliced Eggplant, Roasted Grape Tomato, Rosemary Goat Cheese, Hummus, Caramelized Onion, Pesto, Seasoned Spinach) and it was super delicious. The roasted vegetable flavor came through very well, and was well balanced by the sauces on the sandwich. It was also a good sized sandwich for a light lunch. It is expensive for what you would normally pay for a sandwich, but it is an island and the ingredients are higher quality with a bigger emphasis on better for your dishes so it kind of makes sense. Loved the food here and will for sure be coming back! The people here are super kind (like everyone else on the island), but the food might take a bit to come out. There is the option for indoor and outdoor seating. Tables are clean and the inside is cool from the heat. Smoothies for hot days too! read more

Very slow. Long wait for two sandwiches to go. Interior is messy and needs wiping down/dusting. We got fresh tamarind and watermelon juices. They did not taste fresh, they tasted like pure sugar. Ordered two tuna melts and they were greasy, soaking the paper wrapping and EXTREMELY salty. They were inedible, after just a few bites, we threw them away. 20 min later I ended up having severe gastrointestinal issues, at the beach! One of the worst experiences of my life. This cute little Bohemian cafe within walking distance of the cruise ship pier is serving up some delicious healthy foods. We really enjoyed their handcrafted coffee drinks and specialty hibiscus teas. There is both inside and outside dining areas and a nice menu to choose from. We were there at breakfast time and ordered some bagel and muffin sammie's that were unbelievably fresh and filled with yumminess. Even a plain toasted bagel with cheddar and freshly roasted turkey was knock your socks off delicious. I am still craving that simple sandwich, it was that good. The Merv muffin with bacon, egg, swiss cheese, tomato, avocado, spinach, and sprouts was absolutely delicious and the perfect size. The Buddha Club sandwich was fabulous too! I took my daughter here while stopped in St Thomas from a Disney cruise. I like to get out of the tourist area and find somewhere more local. The gal managing the place was very kind and made sure we got my daughter a grilled cheese even though that's not a menu option. I had their soup even though it was pretty warm out, it was delicious. A coconut creamy type curried soup served with some bread. The iced coffee drink hit the spot in the heat. The place filled up the longer we were there but the table space is limited. No hummus, no tomatoes, no sprouts and the "mixed greens" was just lettuce. She had told me they were out of roasted beets, so I expected that but she didnt mention that it would just be a bowl full of lettuce and sweet potatoes with some dressing (the dressing was good though). Made my panini into a wrap and substituted core ingredients and told me as if it was no big deal only for the "panini" to taste terrible and then were unwilling to substitute or exchange the item because they "sold it as it was told to me" they made all of these changes after I already paid a ridiculous 23 dollars for what I thought was a Sandwhich. My friends and I were lucky enough to be on a flight with the owner of this amazing little cafe, so naturally we had to stop in and see what it was all about! When you first enter, you walk through an adorable little boutique with various souvenirs and clothes to buy, all at a reasonable price. Then you walk into the main cafe, and the vibes are amazing! There are comfy booths lining all of the windows with throw pillows that just tie the whole place together. The people are kind and even remembered our names when we came in the next day! Now, onto the main event: the food. All of it was wonderful. One of my friends got the turkey quiche and loved it; I got a sweet potato mushroom wrap that was one of their specials of the day and let me tell you: It. Was. Incredible. All of the flavors complimented each other beautifully, and I felt great after eating it! We each got different smoothies, and all of those were great too. My boyfriend and I had breakfast here one day during our trip, and we spent the whole time talking about how we want to open a coffee shop just like it! He got the standard drip coffee (which was good) and I got a dirty chai tea latte, which was herbal and unique, but SO good. He had a Turkey wrap and I had the quiche with a salad - seriously their salad is even the bomb. It felt so refreshing and good after a week of eating out on the island. Great food, great drinks, great service. They even had a cute little shop with a bunch of zero waste items. Very laid back, boho atmosphere. They do have a lot of vegetarian options & one vegan wrap. I'm sure a lot of the food can be made vegan but they don't have gluten free wraps. But lots of vegan baked goods as well. It was a bit heavy on the garlic for my taste but still delicious! Generous portion. On the drives to and from our room at the Marriott, our daughter noticed the Barefoot Buddha. She looked it up and definitely wanted to work there. Timing and meals worked out such that we picked get her lunch there on the drive to the airport on the way home. We walked in and ordered... she ordered the Farmer's Market Panini and the Sweet Ting Smoothie, with extra local honey. The food was great The food was completely gone halfway to the airport... except for... dessert, which we saved until we were airborne. We had also ordered two brownies made with coconut mixed in, and a cookie. I was skeptical about the coconut, as I generally don't like it, but the brownie was gooooood. Thank you, Barefoot Buddha. Wow I stumbled upon this place while on vacation in St. Thomas. I was looking for healthy food options and so glad I found this spot. My only regret is not eating here more and tasting the other delicious food options on menu. A nice variety of Coffee, Teas, breakfast stuff (burrito, muffins etc.) wraps, fresh baked goods, bagels and delicious smoothies make up the menu. The smoothies are delicious and the other food my friend's got and I tried (especially the wraps and shanti muffin) were fantastic. Just finished brunch at Barefoot Buddha and all I can say right now is wow!! The food was so delicious and the vibe is super chill. I got the Rusted Root bowl off the special menu and my hubby got the Bodhi Breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and no cheese. We both enjoyed our food and our bellies were nice and full when we were done! We also enjoyed our iced lattes: mine an oat milk Chai and his an almond milk mocha. We highly recommend Barefoot Buddha for breakfast/brunch! I wish we had more time to come back again but this for sure has inspired me to make more food like this back at home. P.s. We stopped here on the way to the airport as we were leaving Saint Michael's. I had read all the reviews and really wanted to go there. I got a vegetarian wrap that had eggplant, avocado, and other items in it and my spouse got a breakfast sandwich. My wrap was to die for. It was chock full of well, primarily avocado, actually and it was just delicious and really hit the spot. I don't know what they spiced it with or what all else but it was just really good. The breakfast sandwich is also good with egg sausage and cheese on a croissant. The lady at the register was very nice and while we had to wait a little bit of time, I don't think that was anything to complain about. We also got a guava cream cheese pastry, and it was flaky and delicious. I would definitely eat here again, especially for vegetarians. When we were at the airport, we saw that one is going to be put in there as well. I wish there was one in Pittsburgh. read more

We all have our fat days, especially during the holiday season. When I wake up wanting something healthy for breakfast or all day, I go to Barefoot Buddha. St. Thomas, isn't into health and fitness. They are into fried foods, booze, and beaching it up. So when you think you've had enough of that, pop on over to Barefoot Buddha to detox all of that bad stuff out of you with a Kale or Spinach Smoothie. Honestly, in the two years that I have lived on this island, no one else makes actual healthy smoothies. They all use that sugary syrupy fake fruit stuff, that's like having diabetes in a cup. The food here is meant for rabbits. Everything is vegan, organic, or vegetarian, which is the break your body sometimes needs after an overdose of meaty fried goodness. My favs are the smoked mozzarella tomato panini or Hummus and goat cheese with rosemary panini. Both will set you back about $10, but that's reasonable on this island. I looooooovvvveeee sundried tomatoes and both paninis feature them. Conveniently located across of Havensight, its an easy trek across the street for those cruise ship goers, or if driving, park to the right hand side of the building near tropical tours or in the back (its limited so you may have to park at Havensight). I wish that the restaurant was open past 3pm daily. I have been told before that they are open until later, but every time I have tried that they are closed, and when that happens, its a super sad face. I didn't have the greatest experience ever here, maybe it's the unpopular opinion. Prices are incredibly inflated. A basic breakfast bagel will run you $8-$9 dollars. I personally paid $12 for an average sized breakfast burrito. It was nothing special, in fact, something in it put me off. I think it was the sun dried tomato cream cheese. It has a weird sweetness when I wanted something salty. The actual operation is also super chaotic. It felt like 20 minutes passed before I got my food. Orders were coming out in the wrong sequence, things seemed to be sent back and wrong a lot. Overall, it was okay. I wouldn't go back. read more
