She asked the kitchen if they could make it (it was too late; not her or anyone else's fault) but she suggested a bunch of places that were open nearby and just gave me excellent service and made me feel completely welcome. I went to Pier48 for Devour to give it a try and was a little disappointed. With restaurants being at a lower capacity (and not busy) I have expected things to be a bit higher quality. I guess I thought they'd focus heavily on quality to keep the amount of guests they can have coming back. I want to start with the good things: I had maybe one of the best martinis I've ever had. The service was really good and the lobster mini rolls were excellent. That's kind of where things stop. The rest of my food wasn't that great. The oysters were overcooked and therefore really tiny and a bit chewy. My lobster tail was good but my ribeye was not. I don't need a lot of seasoning on meat but this had none. I ordered it medium rare and it was definitely medium well. I don't know if it upcooked while sitting under a heat lamp or if it was initially cooked that way. Either way I kind of feel like with the slowness Of the weeknight mealtime, it should have been correct. I didn't complain because I didn't want to upset our waitress who I think was the only one in the restaurant. She was on top of everything but it wasn't her fault. Came here after a Friday night Pacer's game. We sat at a high top by the bar, lots of big TVs. Nice decor, bigger banquettes and seating areas. I would love to go back when its warmer and sit on the roof top. Our server was very attentive. Basic drink menu. The food we had was solid, but WOW the service we had at the restaurant was horrible. While our server was very nice, he was very inattentive to us throughout our meal despite the restaurant not being very busy. There was probably a 20 minute delay between us finishing our meal and getting our desserts/check, and at the point the place was basically empty. That said, the food was solid but nothing overly special. We went during Devour Indy, so we got the mini lobster rolls to split as an appetizer, we both ordered surf and turf, and we finished with the cheesecake. We also ordered the lobster nachos as a second app (not included with Devour). The mini lobster rolls and lobster nachos were both really solid. I kind of expected the nachos to be weak on the amount of lobster meat included, but this was not the case. The surf and turf was fine - my steak was served medium despite requesting medium rare, and the lobster was a little overcooked. The cheesecake was good to finish the meal. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for with a $40 surf and turf dinner for two (plus the appetizer and drinks cost). I will say, they had a number of beers on tap and by the bottle, and they were really cheap. If I were to go back, it'd likely be to get beers and those nachos again, or try the wings (which looks solid from my view of the table next to us). I went for the first time last weekend for a friends party and I LOVED their food. I've never decided to come to this restaurant before since I'm not a big seafood fan but even with that, I wanted more of what I had! I decided to get the crab cakes as an appetizer and the texture was perfect - not too moist and not dry at all. On their menu, their description reads, "You've been requesting them. We listened." And honey, they were not playing around. Again, I'm not a fan of seafood so I don't get them often, but they were no doubt the best I've ever tried. For dinner I had the bourbon cedar salmon. Also cooked and seasoned to perfection, the glaze wasn't too sweet and had a had a little kick of spice that wasn't overbearing at all (I'm not good with spicy foods). The service was nice, as well! Our family was booted from our house for a few days for some major home repairs and we decided to make a staycation out of it in downtown Indy to celebrate back-to-school for my kids and my 40th birthday! Since we have 2 kiddos who are not yet vaccinated we wanted to find a restaurant w/a decent sized patio and shaded seating to dine outdoors. Pier 48 hit the spot! Our server, Reid was amazing. She has been at the restaurant since they opened. She knows the menu by heart. She had awesome recommendations and was incredibly attentive. She learned our names (HOW?!?), praised our kids for their manners, and hooked them up with the tastied kiddie cocktails (more on that below). Here's what we loved: -Plenty of street parking nearby. Or, an easy Uber drop off right on adjacent Georgia Street. -The crab beignets - they were as good as they sound! -The kiddie cocktails (not on the menu) our server Reid brought for the kiddos that had 5 cherrys each in them! Happiest kids ever. -They have a great kids menu! Some of the usuals were on there (grilled cheese), plus a pasta dish and a salmon dish. -Their craft draft beer selection. Those 2 hazy IPAs went down nice and easy on this hot Summer day! -The murals across Georgia St. that you see from your seat on the patio. -The multiple Handlebar Indy beer bike trolley things that rode past during our meal -- it was entertaining for the kids and parents alike. :) -I got a free dessert for my birthday! When we went insider we were told that was for the other side. So that was a bit annoying. However we did stay. I had the hot lobster roll which was good. The fries were delicious. My friend had the lobster Mac and cheese and she said the cheese was not very cheesy. My husband had the lobster grilled cheese and loved it. My friend had the fish and chips. Surprised to see several bad reviews about service, didn't receive nothing short of attentiveness and swiftness in service from appetizers to ordering multiple drinks from the bar. Atmosphere was simplistic and subtle. I enjoyed most of the food that came out the kitchen. The mini lobster roll took me by surprise, it was golden buttery, toasty and just satisfying. The raw oysters were chucked clean and fresh. Definitely recommend the charbroiled oysters was an amazing bite paired with the mini toasted bread that complimented it very well. They seemed to have a lot of lobster dishes such as the lobster Mac n cheese and it tasted like your standard Mac n cheese, could've been more saucy and velvety but the flavor was there. The clam chowder was rich and creamy and not too skimpy on the clams. The blackened monkfish was an entree that I was recommended by our server and it was definitely eye catching. Reminded me of just a jambalaya with fish on a polenta cake and I just needed it little spicier and tangy, after couple douses of hot sauce it was ready to rock n roll. I'm not yet sold on Pier 48, but they have a few things going for them. First, the seafood is fresh and is flown in daily - a must in landlocked corn country. I've had oysters here multiple times (fresh and their char-grilled oysters) and they've been fantastic every time. What I'm not sold on are the drinks and the non seafood options. The cocktails are iffy and the bartenders don't all know how to make basic drinks (for example, a tender had to ask her boss how to make a sazerac) and the drinks are too sweet. They carry a lot of Deep Eddy if that gives you an idea of what I mean. The only meal I've had there really was the burger week special - a burger with lobster, Peanut butter, and some other stuff. This thing wasn't good. Peanut butter has no place on lobster. When I ordered I figured it would actually be a more savory peanut sauce (think African or Thai cuisine) but it was a literal smear of Jiffy (or, tbh considering the sweetness Peter Pan). I didn't even finish half. The burger meat itself was flavorless. I will return for oysters but I'll skip on the rest! read more

We chose the mini lobster rolls as our appetizer, and to be honest, they were by far my absolute favorite thing of the night! Perfectly buttered rolls stuffed with plenty of lobster chunks...I think I'm in love! We each got surf and turf, which for the devour price was a great deal. My steak was prepared exactly as ordered and had great flavor, and my lobster tail was perfect, not overcooked as some places tend to do. The shared chocolate cake at the end was rich and decadent, one slice is plenty for two people, it was so good! We also added on crab cake bites which were very good also. Our server was great-the wow factor stops there. The chef was out, (found this out later)-the food was ok, but both of our two orders had items omitted, mixed up. Hubby got fries and asked for chips. I asked for veggies and got fries, which I gave to him. The special was gone at 5:30p.m. I know restaurants have been hit so hard, so I try to understand, but after being upcharged $30 for a similar entree to the special in a nearly empty restaurant, and having a server drop an entire tray of food behind us in a dinner service with only 10 people in the entire restaurant, 4 of which were just drinking at the bar, definitely left a bad impression and was hard to understand. The $25 Manhattan my husband had suggests they should be able to do better, but clearly they have high prices and low standards. read more

They were okay, too mushy and sweet for me. -Peach margarita - this was the margarita of the week. It was decent, could barely taste the alcohol. I had high hopes when booking a reservation for a Valentines weekend dinner. We drove downtown from Whitestown to check out Pier 48. I had been wanting to come here for months. When entering the restaurant wearing a mask there was a very strong fishy odor which was an immediate turn-off. Our server Sarah B. was very attentive and I would give her a 5 Star rating. The Decor was also very nice. I liked the fish scale wall and Wharf and ocean theme for the seafood restaurant. We ordered the Crab Beignets Appetizer which was lukewarm and just "so so" in taste. 5 small crab puffs for $15+ and not worth the price. The Cocktails were over-priced and there was a very limited draft beer menu. We were seated near the entrance to the hotel and every time someone opened the door we were hit with a freezing cold draft of air. We both ordered the fish and chips. They were average at best. Next time I will spend the extra dollars and go back to The Oceanaire or Ocean Prime ... or save some money and go to Capplinger's Seafood. Disappointing and I won't be back. read more

Pier 48 is apart of Devour Indy from August 24th through September 6th. I ended going there Friday Aug. 28th that evening around 7ish. I didn't have a reservation, I had just missed the rush from the Devour Indy crowd, at first the hostess told me they didn't have any seats, they'll keep looking, and I didn't wait long about 30mins. I sat outside, where there was live music, every table outside was spaced out according to the health guidelines, it was beautiful night, servers, kitchen staff, and Managers all wearing masks. It was my first time there very nice inside from what I noticed, I was informed Pier 48 does offer brunch on Sundays until 2pm. The Devour Indy deal was for $40 starters I had two mini lobster rolls, you get two entrèes which I had two 5oz lobster tails with Parmesan Risotto, and for my dessert I had the explosive chocolate cake. Everything was very hot fresh, tasty, and very fulfilling. Now, when I ordered my mini lobster tails it did take longer to come out since other tables around me also ordered from the Devour Indy menu, but besides that I enjoyed my meals. This is my second time at Pier 48. The first time I didn't write a review, so I will roll it all into one. The atmosphere wasn't what I expected. I thought I had to be super dressed up but I was glad it was a nice casual spot. The atmosphere is really laid back and the decore is a rustíc chic. It's more of an upscale sports bar. So let's get to the food. Both times I ordered the crab beignets..... so delicious!!! I also ordered the chargrilled oysters......thee best! The lobster roll is so good, the bread is soft and it melts in your mouth. Then the blackened salmon with roasted potatoes will make you smack whoever is dining with you. The food is great, it's reasonably priced, the drinks are good and the service was amazing! So what are you waiting on? Go to Pier 48! read more

Yes yes yes!!!!! This place was such a vibe! My husband loves seafood so I figured this would be the prefect place to take him for Father's Day. The inside was very clean, socially distanced, and we loved the modern esthetics. The service was phenomenal as well!! Now on to the food. The crab cakes were to die for!!!! So moist and flavorful! The fish & chips were perfectly fried. Crispy but still light and not greasy at all. Also can we discuss that giant piece of fish lol. The portion sizes were amazing! Hubby decided on the Salmon.
