    14 oz ribeye medium rare
    Steve V.

We had dinner at Harry & Izzy's on East 82nd Street with some friends. We opted to sit in the outdoor patio to enjoy the great evening. Our waitress was very attentive and paced our meal perfectly. We all had the famous shrimp cocktail with that killer horseradish cocktail sauce and it didn't disappoint. I chose the 14 oz ribeye - well marbled and seasoned to perfection. Everyone enjoyed the setting and food - can't wait to return .

Harry & Izzy's will always be my go to spot for the best Berkshire pork chop. The lemon drop martini was delicious.

Had a great time here for NYE. We sat at the bar and watched Ohio State lose to Miami. Up first I had a $16 Espresso Martini. It was made how I like it and would recommend it. Also tried a $15 lemon drop $16 Old Fashioned, and a martini. All of the drinks were very good and made correctly. I started with a $12 French Onion Soup. Very good. Then, I had a $26 Prime Rib sandwich. I enjoyed it a lot. The place cleared out as we got closer to midnight. The food and drinks here seem pretty much exactly the same as St. Elmo in downtown Indy.

Here for St Nick's lodge! This event feels up fast!! It's cute and festive for sure! The experiences just ok. I wasn't wow'd at all. The drinks was just ok and I didn't even finish mine. I tried the Grandma got hangover by a reindeer which I basically boozy hot chocolate. It was mid. Not a fan. My friend ordered the ski lift and was disappointed and ended up sending it back. Overall it's cute but missed the mark on drinks. I loved that they had nice Sherpa blankets on each chair!! It wasn't too cold at all! It's a cute spot to go take some instagram worthy photos! Service is great!!

Is there shrimp under that cocktail sauce?

Visited Harry & Izzy's during Devour Indy week. It's a great value. For $58 you can get shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, and a 6 ounce fillet with mashed potatoes If you go on a Monday through Wednesday, you get an additional $10 off your meal. The service was wonderful. Very attentive and our food arrived quickly. It was hot and fresh. The steaks were served to perfection. The dress is upscale casual. You will see men dressed from suits, to business casual, to jeans with a nice pullover. The restaurant is warm and inviting. St. Elmo's, its downtown Sister restaurant, has a dark, moody, old world environment. Harry & Izzys, however, is light and bright. A definite contrast in atmosphere between the two. We love coming here during Devour week. We recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning again.

Had such a great experience at Harry & Izzy's! I ordered the pizza and wanted to make a few changes -- and they didn't just accommodate, they were so kind about it. The manager came by personally and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it, which honestly meant a lot. The pizza came out perfect -- fresh, flavorful, and exactly how I asked for it (rare these days!). The service was top-notch all around -- everyone was friendly, professional, and made me feel genuinely welcomed. It's so nice when a restaurant goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy. Definitely earned a permanent spot on my favorites list!

Came in for dinner with my fiancee and Dad on a Saturday night. The place was fairly busy and we were seated in the back room. Pros - Food was tasty as always. Flavorful, plentiful, and nice size servings - Speed- Our bread (table), soup, and mains were quick and well spread out, so no rushing, but not a lot of waiting - Service was good and friendly. Efficient and timely. - Parking availability was great, as we were able to find plenty of parking at 6p on a Saturday night. - Our Brussels sprouts for the table (shareable side) were AMAZING! Cons - Per usual with other customers, prices were a bit high on certain things, but food was good. (Worth noting- we all got different things to share i.e. pizza, steak, and salmon, and all were cooked/prepped to order.)

Went here for the pop up and dinner and the didn't disappoint. The pop up bar was nicely decorated and the drinks were good. Stephanie was our server for dinner and she didn't disappoint. She was hands down amazing and we will request her every time we go. Although I don't have many pictures because I was amazed with everything it was all chef's kiss hunty! I got the pasta with double shrimp and I thought i was at an Italian restaurant versus a steakhouse. Delicious

My daughter loved celebrating her birthday last year at this location that she requested to go again this year. From the moment we walked inside, all of the staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. We went at 6pm and it wasn't busy yet. The lighting and decorations really set a cozy and inviting mood. Our server Sha'Quia was amazing! She was attentive and so sweet. She even noticed when the potatoes that came out were not the right kind and quickly corrected it. The food and drinks were all so good and it just made my daughter's birthday even more special. It's pricey but it is worth it!

Penne Alfredo (plate #2) with lobster meat and sautéed shrimp

My husband and I had an impromptu date night this past Saturday. So, after attending an event in Downtown Indianapolis, we were looking for a place to dine, but we didn't have reservations, and the wait times were over 30 minutes. I checked online and saw that we could get in at this location. I put in a reservation and requested a booth. The weather was mild and slightly rainy, but I noticed the covered patio area and decided that it would be a nice idea to dine outside. While checking in, the hostess greeted us warmly and I noticed someone who appeared to be management on the telephone. I asked about changing our preference to the patio and the hostess assured us that they could make that happen. A ticket printed and the hostess grabbed it, at which time the manager promptly snatched it out of her hand as another ticket printed. I thought that was very rude and unnecessary, but the hostess didn't miss a beat. She lead us to our table and chatted with us on the way, all while maintaining her smile. We were sat and Paul, our server, greeted us and offered us a wine and cocktail menu. We opted for a bottle of Moscato and ordered the famous (or infamous) St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail to share as an appetizer. I swear, the horseradish gets spicier every time. I could only eat one! Then, I ordered the Prime Beef Meatballs as my entree and my husband ordered the Penne Alfredo with lobster meat and sauteed shrimp. The first plate of pasta came out "loosey goosey", like the sauce was super soupy. When Paul came to check on us, we inquired about that and he didn't seem sure as to whether or not that was how it should be served. He went and made the manager aware. The same manager that I'd seen snatching the ticket from the hostess came over and apologized, stating that she'd love to have that remade for him. She somewhat redeemed herself, although I hope that she apologized to the hostess. She also offered him a soup or salad while he waited, which he declined. A few minutes later, a new plate of pasta was presented with a thicker, cheesier sauce. It was garnished with additional parmesan cheese, herbs and lemon zest, something that the first plate had include, but went unnoticed due to the watery river of sauce stealing the show. My meatballs were an appetizer, meant to be shared...and they are massive. I only ate one there and had one each for the next two days as well. We ordered cheesecake to go. We love Harry & Izzy's and normally frequent the downtown location, but this one is much closer to our home, and we will likely return soon.

I just stopped in here for a quick happy hour drink while waiting to meet someone nearby. Went straight to the bar and was served right away. Not much else to say since it was a short visit.

Legacy lunch combo (salad and salmon)
    Dani J.

My party of four met here for a little annual holiday meet up. This is our second time meeting at H&I. We like the food, service, ambiance, and quality of food. We met on a Sunday after Christmas. The restaurant was still nicely decorated for the holidays. This visit I tried the Legacy lunch combo. It comes with sliders or salmon, soup du jour or salad, and fries or chips. I opted for the chili, salmon filet, and fries. I was warned the chili had a spicy kick, and I was not disappointed. The salmon was seasoned well. It was a nice lunch and I'm sure I'll return again soon.

    Liza G.

I really love it here. Top-notch service every time, and the food is always consistent. It's a great spot for lunch or dinner! Huge covered patio. They also have newly revamped lunch combos, which is a nice touch. I came here for lunch recently and tried one of their specials for that day--fresh tomatoes and mozzarella with basil. Yum. Tomato season is my favorite! I completed my lunch with two steak sliders and a Caesar salad. Perfection!

The cocktails were just as creative as the food--beautifully presented and almost too pretty to drink. And t The service made the evening even better. Luke took wonderful care of us and was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming throughout the entire meal. He gave us just the right amount of attention without ever making us feel rushed, and his service really added to the overall experience.

A while back, I learned that Tom Main, the owner of Freeland's, was nominated for a James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur. Well! That's all I needed to read, and I put Freeland's on my list of must-visit restaurants. Freeland's isn't a fancy joint, but it's also not not-fancy. Vibes were telling me that it felt like the kind of place where you want to put on a clean shirt, and so I got it into my head that Freeland's should be saved for a day when I felt like changing out of my yoga pants. So I visited on an anniversary. Pro tip: When you make a reservation online (and you should definitely make a reservation), tell them whether you're visiting for a birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. They will make your dining experience incredibly special. We were greeted at our table with a celebratory sparkling wine toast (in shot glasses), and a complimentary scoop of fruit sorbet to end our meal. This was totally unexpected and was a nice touch, and spoke volumes about the service at Freeland's. Honestly, I don't know what to rave about first: the service or the food. But since I mentioned the service, I'll go ahead and just say that Freeland's has some of the best service I've experienced in Indiana. I felt like I was in the middle of a carefully orchestrated play, with people coming in and out to give me new silverware, refresh my water glass before I knew I needed more water, and whisk my empty plates away as soon as I was done with them. At one point, I was transfixed by watching the staff maneuver and dance around each other in the dining room with purpose and grace. It was a sight to behold. I love efficiency! I love moving with purpose! They do that here, all for you. One hundred percent, you should order the carrot appetizer. It's just called "Carrots" on the menu, which is an understatement. These are perfectly cooked warm carrots glazed in a Szechuan sauce, sitting on top of a creamy edamame hummus, drizzled with oil and sprinkled with everything-bagel spice. One order is plenty for two or three people to share, but I could see myself coming back and just hoarding an entire carrots plate all to myself, with a glass of wine, at the bar. For the main dishes, the Sakura Farm Pork Belly was ordered (kimchi, black forbidden rice, duck egg), which was so juicy and tender. I got the Loch D' Art Salmon, which is cooked medium, unless you tell them otherwise (but medium is perfect, so don't tell them otherwise), and comes with Carolina gold grits, broccolini, tomatoes, romesco sauce and harissa. Holy mackerel (I mean, salmon)! This was a perfect fish dish, and melted in my mouth. Every bite was amazing. It was just the right amount on the plate, too -- not too much, but also completely satisfying. They have some creative desserts on the menu. I didn't really want dessert, but we were given a dessert on the house, so how could I say no? The cherry sorbet was pure, icy cherries in a glass. So refreshing, and the perfect way to end the exquisite meal. Freeland's dining room is small, and when we visited, every table was full. Like I said, definitely make a reservation. But despite all of the people, and all of the people talking, it was never too loud. They have sound-diffusing panels in the ceiling to offset some of the noise, so I never felt like I had to shout across the table. They think about every detail here! This is one example of the care Freeland's puts into their dining experience, and it's not the only one. You are well-taken-care-of here.

The shrimp were good sized, though they'd been cooked a bit too long. The oysters were perfectly shucked and fresh. Parker house rolls in the warm bread basket. Get them. Wonderful. The wife got a cup of lobster bisque while I got a bowl. The serving size was very similar between them; my bowl was just a fancier presentation with a small pile of lobster in the center. The grouper was good, but I wouldn't order again. it was described as having gnocchi and peas, though there were only a couple of each. At least it had a nice broth and a spoon to slurp it up with. Not my favorite experience of all the Ocean Prime's we've visited, but still a pleasant dinner.

Pretty big for a 14-year-old. Food was really good too. My favorite things were the scallops, the truffle Mac and cheese and the prime sushi roll! I unfortunately did not save room for dessert but those looked amazing too! I liked that we had a window into the kitchen but the room still felt cozy and elegant!
