After years of hearing nothing but wonderful things about this place, I finally made a point to stop in. The clam chowder was absolutely divine! Best I've had on the coast, by far. My partner was equally impressed. Didn't get a chance to take a picture of the oysters. We got mostly chipotle, but asked for a couple garlic ones to try. Not a fan of the garlic, but the chipotle was amazing. Our dogs approved too! The patio seating was exactly what we needed on a beautiful sunny day. read more

If you're thinking this place feels like any other seafood place in a tourist town (malibu, monterey, etc), then prepare to have your viewpoints altered. While the checkered paper, fresh seafood, outdoor seating and walk up to order may all be part of the experience, this is probably the best seafood I've had in one of these beach towns. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, crab sandwich with chowder and blackened cod plate. The shrimp cocktail contains a surprising amount of shrimp for the price - and you can definitely taste how fresh the shrimp is! The crab sandwich was pretty good and light, but I feel like the blackened cod overshadowed everything. The cod was so flavorful, and you get 4-5 pieces. It's a cajun style seasoning where you can taste the spice - to a point it may be a little too spicy for people with low spice tolerance. The bread is buttered and the salad is fresh - you could not ask for a better meal. The clam chowder is a little different from most other places; they add some seasonings and spice to the chowder so it's not the traditional creamy, heavy soup you're expecting. It's like clam chowder premium, I prefer their version over a more traditional version. The view of the turquoise colored water is amazing from their indoor patio, as it's covered in windows. They also have an outdoor patio where you can take pictures of the color. The line to order was quick, but we saw that the line can get long with extended wait times depending on customer numbers. We were in town and needed a dog friendly restaurant. This is a order at the window,then they bring out the food to your table. The have 2 outdoor patios. One covered,one not covered. This one has more seats that face the harbor. We ordered the octopus and bay shrimp ceviche,chips and guac,and rockfish tacos. The chips and guac were ok ,the ceviche was pretty good. But the high light was the fish tacos. Grilled and seasoned just perfectly. After a couple of bites,they fell apart. But still really good. The soup looked really good,but since it was a hot day. Found this place on yelp and wow this place is a gem! Ordered the 1/2 Crab Sandwich, Clam Chowder, and sour Guava Beer. Crab Sandwich: Wow this sandwich is good!!! I usually go to an SF giants game to get a good crab sandwich but this one here is soooo good and juicy!! So sad I got the half and went back the next day and got the full size Dungeness!! If you have a big appetite get the full! Clam Chowder: i have been to Seattle, Santa Cruz, Monterey etc and this clam chowder is on my top 3.... I was sooo surprised when I tried it. The clam chowder you can upgrade to a cup with the crab sandwich but man you'll want a bowl to yourself. I ended up getting a bowl to go for on the road and it's still good to go! Arrived at 5 on a Saturday night. Thought the line would be huge, and the ended up about 4 groups in front of me. In no time at all(time enough to peruse the menu and make my choice) I was at the window placing my order. The gal was helping the staff get ready for a party of 8 that had called ahead. Super friendly, and prompt. I took my number and root beer and found a seat. Lots of seating, even as busy as they were. Outdoor seating, some tented with heaters, some outdoors without. There were about 5 seats at the windows inside, which I took one of. The lobster bisque is superb and the seafood Louie salad is perfect. I have had the crab rolls in the past, they are the bomb. I'm not a fan of their NE style clam chowder(it has corn in it) but my family loves it. The fish tacos are also very good, and they give multiple fish options for most items. The salmon burger is also very good, as well as the oysters. Not to mention the view - never disappoints. Something for everyone, it is the spot to go in the harbor! read more

We grabbed lunch at Princess Seafood to shelter from the rain in Mendocino after exploring in the morning. They have a seafood market nearby and a restaurant where they serve seafood + fish sandwiches and chowder. Ordering is easy at the window and then you get a placecard to put on your table if you're dining in. They have only a few seats inside but there is a fairly big tent area with heat lamps that was comfortable enough to dine in. Luckily we were visiting during dungeness crab season and they had a special of a 1/2 dungeness crab plate which we grabbed along with a crab sandwich + a cup of lobster bisque on the side. It was a cold and rainy day so we also got 2 cups of hot apple cider which turned out to be delicious with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Simple but turned out to be exactly what we needed as we waited for our food. I loved the lobster bisque which had a nice sweetness and didn't feel too heavy. It was great with the salty oyster crackers and I ended up dipping the cold crab sandwich in the bisque. The crab plate was good as well with plenty of meat in the crab. It was served with cole slaw, buttered bread and melted butter on the side to make it a full meal. I only wish the bread was warm as well. Great spot for a casual lunch in Mendocino. I wish the weather was nicer so we could enjoy the view more but would definitely come back the next time I'm in Mendocino. read more

A great seafood spot during our stay in Fort Bragg! It has a nice view and both outdoor and covered seating options. You order at the window counter and then take a seat. We got two styles of oysters, raw and bbq grilled -- the heat on the chipotle is quite spicy. Our son loved the clam chowder and I liked the lobster bisque also. The tomato is sliced thick on the crab roll which was my one minor gripe. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here and would recommend/return! read more

Horrible service and outright misrepresentation of their menu offerings. The alleged clam chowder doesn't have clams in it as far as I could tell from r they were hiding behind the potatoes. They should call it potato chowder. As for the crab sandwich. Pathetic. Absolutely not prepared as described. Net net, a waste of money, time and appetite. I would absolutely recommend you do not patronize this establishment. Having said that, there are a couple of fantastic places nearby with great food and excellent service. Gorgeous view no deep fryer restaurant. Come here when you OD on delicious deep fried seafood lol. We had prawn cocktail $12, bowl of chowder $7, crab sammich $21 and crab louie $23. The louie and chowder were great. The crab sandwich should be on a brioche roll not a thick french roll. The thick roll takes away from delicate crab flavor. Throw in a couple if ciders and tip and our bill hit $90. Quite a bit more than Noyo and just a little less than dinner at Luna Trattoria. Princess is good but I feel your paying a premium for the gorgeous bridge view. read more

AMAZING! Before heading to our campsite at Van Damme, we stopped by Princess Seafood for a quick bite and some beers. The food was so good that we visited 2 more times bringing along more friends each visit. Since we've been Pineapple cider: 5/5 - Refreshing and tasty! Clam chowder: 4/5 - I love the balance ratio of clams and potato and creaminess of the broth. We added garlic bread the 3rd time. Raw oysters: 10/5 - I love raw oysters and these were creamy, pulpy and slightly briny. SOOOO GOOD! If I ever come across Humboldt Bay oysters at a restaurant, I will 100% order them. They are now one of my top 5 favorite oysters. Baked oysters: 4/5 - I preferred the raw oysters but these baked ones were good too! Especially the lemon flavored ones. Prawn Cocktail: 5/5 - FRESH! I never see the value in getting shrimp cocktail at the restaurant but these were so fresh and worth the money. Spicy crab dip: 4/5 - Love the dip! Packed with flavor but the chips are mediocre. Ceviche: 3/5 - generous amount of seafood but nothing outstanding. Again, the chips were mid. Crab sandwich + potato salad 4/5 - LOADED with crab but the bread we had was a little stale. Potato salad was solid! Prawn P'O Boy sandwich: 4/5 - loved the chipotle flavored and the freshness of the shrimp. The food came out fast and the view is amazing! For all three visits there were seals who swam super close by! I highly recommend adding this to your list if you are in Fortbragg! This place was such an amazing find! We quickly realized that we were driving through a harbor town and instantly decided to hit up the seafood scene. Thank goodness this place popped up on our quest for delicious food! The clam chowder was everything we hoped it could be - delicious, creamy, flavorful, and loaded with fresh clam pieces. The crab sandwich was just as impressive, generously packed with fresh crab meat. No mayo fillers - just pure, sweet crab in every bite. On top of the food, the setting made the experience even better! Casual meal with the water and bridge right in front of us, couldn't even imagine a better view. We even saw seals swim up! Prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and view also :D Service was fantastic - warm, attentive, and friendly. I came here for lunch. This restaurant is located right at the entrance to the Noyo Harbor (near the end of the road as you're coming down). The seating is outdoor, right by the water on a deck. They have a large covered area and umbrellas on most of the uncovered tables. Since today was partly cloudy and cool, the umbrellas weren't up. I ordered a crab and shrimp Louie salad. It had a lot of shrimp but not much crab on it. It also had chopped tomato, cucumber, sliced hard boiled egg and sliced avocado on a bed of fresh iceberg lettuce. The 1000 island dressing tasted (and appeared to be mostly mayonnaise. The salad was tasty. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2, there were plenty of outdoor seating and the staff was friendly and made good suggestions about the menu. I got the prawn po boy sandwich with coleslaw. The choices for the sides were chips, potato salad, or coleslaw. The prawn was tasty and fresh. If it's not fresh, I tend to get allergic reactions, but not with this place. The cold slaw was just a typical coleslaw. I also got oysters on the shell, but the flavor was pretty blend, not briney or sweet either. It doesn't really have a taste to it. My mom was thrilled with the variety of gluten-free options, and the gluten-free bun was so tasty -- I couldn't even tell it was gluten-free! They really stuff the bun with crab, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. The grilled oysters were some of the best I've ever had, and I also tried the seared ahi bowl. The tuna was flavorful, and everything was so fresh! We sat on the cute outdoor patio with a great view and plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Super fresh oysters! My friend recommended this place and brought my large group here. We shared a bunch of raw on the half shell, grilled lemon butter, and grilled chipotle bourbon butter oysters priced at 3 for $9.95, 6 for $15.95, and 12 for $30.95. Although they varied slightly in size, they were sweet, tender, and absolutely delicious. The chipotle bourbon butter ones had a nice kick to it but was my least favorite of the three because the sauce overpowered the oyster's flavor. Had a great time with great service, atmosphere and grub! It's a small little fish market with fresh caught fish and a variety of some of my favorite packaged foods, sauces and spices. After ordering, we picked a picnic table in the covered outdoor dining area. Food came out fast and fresh. The crab roll was stuffed to the max and simple, just how it should be!! The fresh oysters were straight out of the bay and came with a homemade mignonette. They were great as well. I can't speak for the bbq oysters my friend ordered but they looked fabulous. They have outdoor dining only but plenty of heated lamps available. Waterfront view is nice. We absolutely loved their clam chowder and had to come back the next day to get it again. It was rich but not overly creamy or salty, and there was an almost zesty flavor to it. Generous amount of clams with each bite. One of the best clam chowders I've had! The lobster bisque was disappointing. There was barely any seafood flavor, and it was just soup with finely minced stuff - you couldn't even tell it was lobster. I would skip this. The BBQ oysters were amazing. I don't even like oyster but I liked this. You can get a minimum of 6 for BBQ oysters and we chose half half flavor (garlic lemon and chipotle bourbon). Omg the flavor was SO good, and the oyster was so well grilled. If you're looking for that strong oyster flavor though (for true oyster lovers) you probably won't get it. But I usually don't like the slimy and overly strong oyster flavor and there was NONE of that. They were soft but not slimy. We actually ended up mixing the two sauces together in each shell and it was so so good. I highly recommend this! read more

Such a beautiful location and a wonderful concept. Yet for me, the food is always just so so - and overpriced for what I get. I paid almost $25 for two salmon tacos, a small cup of beans and some yellow corn chips. No salsa to dip the chips in. The special sauce on the tacos had dairy so I couldn't eat it - No nondairy option to replace it with. So the tacos were bland and nearly flavorless. I would love to see them come up with a nondairy creamy sauce so that us dairy allergic or lactose intolerant folks are able to enjoy a yummy and flavorful experience. And maybe offer a little cup of salsa for the chips! I probably won't come back because I can't see paying that much money for food that really isn't that flavorful. I'm pretty sure one of the owners helped us but my husband only found this place and suggested it because my dogs a princess We each got the crab sandwich. There is SO much crab. I also bought some king salmon and a crab for my mom, and some oysters for us to take home. We ate the sandwiches in the car and *chefs kiss*. I cannot recommend them enough. I asked for her rec on my side and she said she liked the potato salad even though she normally doesn't like potato salad. Well, my logic is if you like it and you work there, I will too... especially since I'm also not a fan of potato salad. IT WAS GOOD. I personally liked this better than the clam chowder but fam preferred the clam chowder. Kimchi crab cakes: 5/5 I liked the flavor combination and thought it was good if not a little small.
