My first visit to Pierce's Pitt was right after I spent the day at Water Country, so I worked up a pretty big appetite! When we got there, the restaurant was PACKED for a Sunday night. They're a typical BBQ restaurant and their menu would satisfy anyone's BBQ cravings whether in pulled pork or rib form! You order first and then given a number that later gets called out. I got the JC sandwich special with hush puppies and Raymond got their smokehouse special with French fries. Both of our sandwich specials came with drinks, a choice of one side, and only about $9. I also couldn't resist trying their collard greens and mac and cheese, so I got one of each. The wait was kind of long, but bearable. I loved my sandwich, but I wish there was a little more slaw. Raymond devoured his BBQ chicken sandwich and he got a big serving of fries. I enjoyed the hush puppies - they were fresh and had a moist center. The mac and cheese was soooo good and cheesy, and the collard greens were perfectly seasoned. You definitely have to try their signature BBQ sauce!! It's sweet and smoky and just adds even more flavor. Whenever I'm in Williamsburg, I will DEFINITELY be making a pit stop here! The food was delicious, fresh, and reinforced my love of BBQ even more. Tourist trap. Good reviews from tourist buses and people in desperate need of food near a highway. Nothing tastes good, everything is rubbery, and some how feels pre-chewed. There are WAY better places to get BBQ. It was clean though, like operating room clean. No manager I don't want to reach out and chat. Love the atmosphere of the place and the outside picnic area but honestly I didn't love the bbq. It tasted like cinnamon. We tried the pulled pork and pulled chicken and coleslaw. I wasn't impressed with the pull pork at all! The pulled chicken was just alright (looked more chopped vs pulled) but the coleslaw was the only thing I liked. Not the best. Not sure why this place stays as busy as it does. The service is terrible -very slow. The pulled pork is much too sweet and the bread /buns always soggy. The beans and ribs again are heavy on the sugar- they need to up their game on the flavor . This is a tourist stop so expect the tour bus crowd and such. This place is always crowded and parking and seating my be difficult to find. Their food is very pricey and their BBQ tasty. We had burnt ends and beef brisket and they were both cooked to perfection, tender, and had a great BBQ smoked flavor. Forget the cole slaw, unless you want to add sugar or sweetener to it. We were visiting the Williamsburg area for the first time in several years. Pierce's was a favorite for both of us when we lived in Central Virginia, and so we had to stop by. It is still the best BBQ in the area, and one of the best we have ever eaten. read more

This use to be my go to when traveling between tidewater and Richmond. Stop here Noel eat a week recently in my travels here I have found the sandwich contain less and less meat. Now this has been a place I have come since they opened, I don't eat the fries, they are fantastic it when you get a sandwich you can't eat all of the food. So I always sub in another side. So today they say there is an up charge to get greens instead of sides. I asked the clerk when this started. As last week they told me they could not sub stew, even though they had been doing that for me for years. Now they say up charge for any side over fries. I have stopped here not because the food was awesome but more as a half way point. So I guess I will go to chick fila for now on. Such a shame but the end of a good thing. When are people going to learn, it is how you treat your customers thy keeps them coming back. read more

It's good pit BBQ but the crowds are too much. And there is always a scramble to get a seat. They really need to expand.

Amazing food. Busy and crowded, but that was probably due to the rain. I wish the inside was more organized because people were standing and searching for empty tables. The burnt ends are my favorite. They're not for everyone, but if you like them, then this is the place for you. read more

Haven't eaten here in 20 years, and from Nally got back to it last night. It is old school fast food bench style seating, order at th counter and they call your number to get your food. We split a combo plate so there was a chance to eat a little bit of everything. The greens are very smokey. Not sweet, no vinegar used in the recipe. My wife (who loves smokey greens) loved them, I (who loves vinegar or sweet) added a little hot sauce to liven mine up. The fries are crinkle cut, not much to be said about that. Cole slaw is a North Carolina style, little more vinegar, little less mayo, good addition to any heat you'd be eating. The ribs were really good, very tender. They had a little spice, little smoke, but let the pork flavor out. The pulled chicken was good, but it comes with the neutral flavor you get with chicken. In tasting the pork and chicken, eat had it's own flavor profile, and the chickens was clearly more mild and muted. The pork had a little more zing to it. It was great and I am normally NOT a pulled pork guy, but Pierce's is absolutely one pulled pork bbq I could each again and again. read more

So this place was super yummy. My burnt ends were not as splendid as I thought but they also sat under a heat lamp for who knows how long. They may be better right out the smoker earlier in the day. :) Requested a refund from mgr and was expeditiously serviced by supervisor. Other than that very tasty being that there aren't too many other selections of kid friendly food around the Great Wolf resort. My cousins hamburger was welllll worth the 10-15 minutes wait time. I got a platter with ribs, pulled pork and chicken. All very tasty and the cashier Skyla was very accommodating suggesting the best sides for my meal. I was at Pierces Barbecue this evening for dinner and my barbecue was greasy and the fries were cold. I've noticed that the last few times I've gone here that the quality has really gone down. It's sad because this used to be a really good place to eat. I doubt I'll return. read more

Oh my! What a wonderful meal. I ordered the combo meal and what a delicious one it was. My son ordered the brisket and he was extremely happy with it. My DIL had the ribs and was delighted with it. I don't usually recommend places to eat because I hat for some to be disappointed but I am recommending this place. You must give it a try. read more

Every time we go the meal is super. You have to have the coleslaw on the sandwich it's grrreat.

One of the best places for BBQ that I have had in several states. There is always a line out the door when you get there so you know it is good. Great prices for the amount of food that your ate getting. Don't expect a fancy seating area but the food more then makes up for it. Amazing!!! Just amazing bbq!! Pulled bbq chicken sandwich with potato salad was delicious. And the bbq chicken with fries and hush puppies was so good. The chicken had a great smoke to it. And the fries and hush puppies were so crispy! It's well known so it fills up fast. Plenty of parking. And if you can't find a seat inside they have outside tables. Gosh! What good food and service! The dining room was too cold for me but they have lots of nice picnic tables outside and plenty of trash cans. Children can run around the grassy area, if you trust them to stay out of the parking lot. We had the regular size pulled pork with coleslaw on top. It was great. No need to add extra barbecue sauce. Staff were clearly accustomed to the crowds, and had set up a number of picnic tables outside.
