Approximately ten locally-owned restaurants line the perimeter of the space, with a centralized bar and a billiards table in the back. We bought food from Smash City, Gringo Taco, and Nori; and beverages from the bar. Everything was fine, but the stand out was the service from the bar staff. If you want to stop by somewhere with multiple options, this is a good spot.

The food hall is fairly new and not all the stations are completely set up. That being said, they still had a great variety of things to choose from. Ranging from pizza, to tacos. to asian, to smoothies, they have something for just about anyones tastes! The hall itself is spacious and very clean. It has an industrial feel to it with dining hall sort of vibes. There are some really cute UF accents and decorations included as well. It wasn't too busy when we came, but they did have a DJ doing music. There were also several people enjoying the bar located in the center of the hall. The portions are decent sizes. Some of the stations portions are bigger than others. Which is nice because it allows you to sample and explore multiple things. I ended up starting at the Mexican station. They offered freshly prepared, customizable tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. I opted for a single taco, so I could try some of the other things offered. The tortillas are griddled with cheese in them, then topped with either chicken or shredded beef. You can choose from a nice selection of toppings including pico de galo, more cheese, lime juice, and an array of sauces. The taco had great flavor, but the cheese caused it to become "soggy" and fall apart. This made it particularly challenging to eat the taco. I then ventured onto the pizza station. They served focaccia styled square pizza with a thicker airy crust. It is almost reminiscent of a Sicilian styled pizza, but a little lighter. I opted for the pepperoni with hot honey added for an extra charge. The pizza was amazing! Served hot and fresh right out of the oven. The cupped pepperonis were heavenly and amply spread throughout the pizza. There was the perfect amount of hot honey to compliment to heat of the pepperonis. The cheese to sauce ratio was nice and the crust was chewy. It the perfect size for a personal pie or could easily be shared with a friend. I really enjoyed the pizza and liked the square style of it. Overall, I enjoyed the Gainesville Food Hall. They offer a nice variety of cuisines. It is family friendly and a great spot to grab a bite and hang out with friends. The space is clean and has an inviting feel about it. I really appreciate the idea of a food hall and think it is a great addition to Gainesville. Will be returning at some point in the future and cannot wait to try more!

This place certainly does not look like any food court that I have ever been in. That said what greets you when you walk inside Chef's Hub's doors is what looks like an empty counter in a entry way that looks every bit like a construction site. Instead of walking to a counter we tentatively walked by it and were greeted by a server. Looking into what I believe was the main dining room it was just us on a Friday around noontime. Now, Chef's Hub is a huge place on what looked like two levels as my partner and I seated ourselves at a table by a window. The menu was unremarkable featuring breakfast items, burgers, pizza, wings, and shawarma items. We both wanted to play it safe and we went with the burgers, both asking that they be both cooked medium rare. Our first surprise was that the server explained that these were "smash burgers" and as such they would be both be well done. OK, we were hungry so we said lets go for it and we got some wings as well. When it was time to get served our drinks we discovered our second and biggest surprise and the only five-star item on the menu - we were served by a robot. Yes, a robot. We watched in amazement as it came up to our table playing rock music. When our burgers arrived, they were indeed cooked very well done, so much so that it was just brown and tasteless. The fries that came with it were OK, but both really needed seasoning as well as a generous amount of ketchup. The wings? Well, they were unremarkable as well. We skipped on desert which was three items as we had quite enough. The bathroom, however was very clean not surprising as I would guess that not many people use it. When we left out the front, was when I noticed the three deserts which were stored in the bottom of the front counter. When I first arrived I mistook them for a roller paint brush in an tray, now, upon closer inspection were the three deserts that were originally offered to up were in foil roasting pans. No thanks. There are so many more places in and around Ormond Beach where you can get much better food. Chef's Hub is a huge place that was void of any Friday lunchtime crowd. That said, the robot deserves any stars that this place gets and if you want to check it out I would do so quickly because, like the last restaurant that was on this site, I can't see how it can possibly stay in business.

Absurd. Anyway, Chef's Hub is not a traditional food court, in that all the stores are separate. Instead, it's all combined on one menu, with 4 separate culinary chefs preparing the food in the kitchen. The entrance is a little quirky, solid details by reviewer below. I mentioned this to the staff and they said it's still a work in progress. (They've only been open 2 months). But once seated, the very attentive staff is quick to meet your every need. And get this, a ROBOT brings your utensils, drinks and food to the table!! A robot! That alone should bring you down. I had the Chick N Shar Shawarma bowl and it was fantastic. It seemed with each chew, bold new flavors were released. I can't wait to try more of this incredibly diverse menu. Chef Hub is the perfect spot when nobody can agree on what to eat. They have so many different options.

But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.
