I hate to write a review on anything but we ordered jersey slice tonight via takeout. I ordered a chicken parm sub. Taking a bite the chicken fell out of the sub and out of the breading. The chicken had grill marks? Looks like pre cooked Perdue chicken, breaded and fried. I'm confused, and it didn't taste good or fresh. Bad texture. I ate most of it because I was hungry and pregnant. My husband loved his steak and cheese though. We usually get pizza and wings and always good. Won't be getting the chicken parm again. read more

Very very good! With steady traffic in and out on a Friday night you know it's got to be good. The pizzas are huge and made just like at the Jersey Shore! I also had a Greek Salad which was huge. I boxed up 1/2 of It before I even started eating. I also ordered 2 of the amazing pepperoni rolls, which come with sauce for dipping. The wings were great but the gluten free pizza... $20 and the pizza was hard as a rock. You could lift up one slice, connected to 5 others, shake it and it wouldn't move, split since it was pre cut. Even steaming it over water didn't soften it at all. Not sure what cauliflower crust it was but do not eat it! read more

I guess Instagram advertising works. Honestly, anything involving pickles is gonna catch my eye and require investigation. I'm glad I saw this ad. I love the White Pickle Ranch pizza. As the name implies, this is a white pizza. The twist is that it has pickles on it, again, as the name implies. It lives up to that name very well with plenty of dill pickle chips sitting on the right amount of mozzarella, covered in ranch. The crust is good, thin and a little chewy. The slices are big. It's simple, and simply good. The rest of the menu looks very good, ranging from salad and wings (with a wide variety of sauces), to calzones, strombolis, and a nice selection of specialty pizzas. This pizza restaurant recently opened in the space previously occupied by a different pizza restaurant in Palencia. The new one is a lot better. I placed a to go order and they said it would be a 45 minute wait, but texted me in about 30 minutes and said it was ready. The restaurant is nice and bright with plenty of tables for dining there. They also had a lot of take out orders that night. I ordered a large supreme pizza, which came with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and olives. The slices were pretty large, and very tasty. I would definitely eat here again. read more

We didn't feel like going out, so pizza it was over the weekend! We were going to order from our usual place, but due to it being closed for vacation, we looked for another pizza place in the area and Slice popped up! After looking over their menu, it seemed pretty standard in regards to a pizza place. To keep things simple we ordered a large pepperoni and a side of garlic knots. I know, I know, I'm sure I'm out of touch when it comes to prices (I know I say that often), but for a large pizza and a side of garlic knots that was almost $30, seems a bit steep, but I know it's pretty in line with the prices in the area. I was able to order everything online and do pickup. The online app will give you a window of when your items should be done. When we arrived our items were done yet, but that was OK, we could wait. When our items were ready we picked them up and drove back home. When we got home everything looked correct: pepperoni pizza and garlic knots. I dug into the garlic knots and they were delicious: soft, super buttery, and garlicky. Then it was time for the pizza. The pizza was good, the crust was think, and it had a good ratio of cheese to sauce to meat. read more

New little pizza shop in Palencia! We love pizza places where you can get just a quick slice to eat! My son loves Cheese so it's nice to not have to buy a whole pizza! Slices were a pretty good size too! We got garlic knots to share that were so tasty with a lot of flavor! Then we got a Sausage/Pepperoni and Onion Stromboli and a Buffalo Chicken Stromboli! Huge portions so could only make it about half way and boxed up the rest! Service staff were really sweet and attentive! Order a large meat pizza tonight for pick up we were quoted 20 minutes. From pick up till we got home it was 10 minutes. I don't know if we received someone else's meat pizza tonight but the pizza was warm at best. It was also so thin the pizza ripped leaving part of the slice in the box. This is a nice change from the pizza place that used to occupy this same space. Not quite sure what style of pizza this is, but I'm glad they aren't claiming to be another New York pizza place. That said, if you are looking for a unique pizza place, this is it. However, if you are looking for New York-style pizza, this is not it. The style of the pizza is unique with a firmer, thicker crust and different flavors. Although we favor the New York style the most, this was good. I thought the pickle pizza was yummy too. We are looking forward to coming back to try the wings or hot sandwiches. Yes, yes...they have a few more things on the menu than just pizza. While I'm at it, you can get a whole pie or just a slice from the pies on display that are already made. There is plenty of parking, restrooms, and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is unlike anything you'd expect for a pizza place...sort of a jungle or tropical feel. You order at the counter and pay upfront. Of course, if you get a drink, there are machines to serve yourself. They have bottled beer as well and they'll pop the top for you. Since you do pay upfront, please know the only service you receive is someone bringing your food to the table...you do everything else yourself. On that note, please be aware you will experience guilt tipping at check out when you pay upfront, so be prepared since this is something different for everyone. If you have read my reviews on pizza places then you know my family and I are self-proclaimed pizza snobs since my husband is a New Yorker and we love New York-style pizza. I wanted so badly to like it. I live so close. The owner and staff are SO NICE. If only it was delicious pizza! But alas. it is not. The tomato sauce and on the pizza is thick and heavy - doesn't taste fresh. Tastes like off the shelf Prego from the supermarket. The crust has an odd flavor. The crust is also weirdly chewy. The edges of the crust are not crisp and delicious with little charred edges from being in an awesome oven for the right amount of time. I have had world-class pizza at Sally's and also Pepe's (New Haven, CT) and in New York. I recently went to Bella Mia in the country of Portugal and had stunningly delicious pizza where I had to stop myself. Sadly, with Slices, I really didn't even enjoy 1 slice. I don't know where the other reviews are coming from, but this is my 3rd time at Slices, and I can tell you it's not great pizza at all. All I can think is that perhaps many reviewers have never had fresh, hot, amazing pizza. I actually posted here 2 photos - One that I just took from tonight's pizza from slices, and one from Bella Mia. You can even see the difference in the color of the tomato sauce, the crust - without even tasting it! Slices, please get better, i'm begging you. I want you to win. I finished the pizza later after it sat in my car while I was at the Daytona 500. It was still very good! Found this place online, decided to try it. We received the wrong pizza completely on accident. The cashier, Sam, immediately called us apologizing about the mishap and had us come back to get our correct pizza. She had made us a fresh pie that came right out of the oven as we walked through the door, and even offered us sodas to apologize. Sam truly went above and beyond. She made our day!
