Specialty craft beers are often available. Indulging at the bar.

This is a regular local stop for me. First draw for me has always been the fine craft beer selection but the food is good to excellent depending on what you have from their fairly wide ranging menu. My favorites are the chef salad choices, pizza and pasta fagioli. But there are many other ways to go. It's a casual tavern atmosphere with tv viewing available throughout out. They also have a good sized deck for the warmer weather. Draft & cans/bottled beer selection is possibly the best in the greater Waterbury (along with The Corner Tavern in Naugatuck). Plenty of parking, very appropriate for family dining, open all week long for lunch & dinner. Clean facilities and a fun atmosphere always. Service is typically prompt and pleasant.

Stopped as I was passing through to grab some food to go. Ordered Two meatball grinders and a Cobb salad, one with raw onions, one with green peppers. Had a drink while I waited for the food to be prepared. There were a few tables with people eating and the bar was almost empty. 37 minutes later my grinders and salad came out. I live 8 minutes away. My wife had everything ready for us to eat. The Cold, dry grinders and one with no peppers were disappointing. Salad looked fancy so I'm assuming grinders were out in 10 minutes and it took someone 20 minutes to cut an avocado and chop up the rest of the veggies. Very lackluster and disappointing. Bartender was nice and my drink was good while I waited. Think it's a hard pass for to-go orders. Maybe we will stick to eating in. My wife opted to just eat the meatballs as seen in the pics.

I have eaten at pies and pub three times in the the last three months. I have no complaints and we leave after every visit full and happy. Their specials are seasonal and unique, and there are plenty of old standbys to choose from as well. Our favorites are the "pot-chos", spinach and artichoke dip, pepperoni pizza and the cobb salad (it is huge). We are regulars.

Holy crazy parking lot. It's straight down a giant hill and there's not much room. Thankfully, I came when it wasn't busy. I had a gift card. $25 is $25. My expectations based upon Yelp reading was super low. It wasn't really as bad as I expected. We made it in time for happy hour. So we indulged in the $5 nachos. Hard to argue the price. A lot of olives, jalapeños onions and tomatoes in there. The cheese underneath wasn't fully melted. I would say it was acceptable. I read some horror stories about the sauce. So I veered towards a white pizza. Manage your expectations. So I got a buffalo chicken pizza. It was actually quite good. No complaints there. I had two German styled microbrews. One was made in Waterbury and one was from Poughkeepsie. Not bad beers per se. Drinkable but not particularly representative of the styles and certainly not on par with an import from Germany. Waitress was nice and helpful. One qualm about the service though. I checked in one Yelp and it said $1 off lunch. So it was like 5:30 and the $1 was good for 3 hours. So I showed the waitress and said I have a discount for $1 for checking in. She was like well it's really not lunch anymore. The discount expired in three hours and it's really not going to be lunch for about another 20 hours was what I was thinking. It's a buck. Nothing not worth tipping 20% over. Also worth mentioning on here though.

Decent tap selection but that's about it, if your looking for a bite to eat this is not the place. Greasy food, no flavor.

Not very good even for pub fare. Lots of beer on tap earning it 2 stars. Eat somewhere else and go there for a night cap.

Woodbury Brewing Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Woodbury, Connecticut in December 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Allan Cetrone, Tim Budrewicz, T.J. D'Alexander and Ken Mair. After he found his previous employer's ethical standards unconscionable, Cetrone decided to quit and find a new line of work. He and his friends frequently got together at a backyard barn man-cave which was complete with a fridge and kegerator. Cetrone had also been experimenting with his own homebrewed beers. Once their man cave became a popular spot for family gatherings, the four friends decided to open their own brewery. The taproom has a rustic saloon aesthetic (a nod to the friends' backyard barn man-cave) complete with a stage for live musical acts to perform. In addition to the housemade beer, WBC also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. I recently visited Woodbury Brewing Company for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see Hudson Valley-based Rush tribute band "Limelight". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started. I had a reserved table right by the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Nashville Hot GIANT Chicken Sandwich" (hot honey, cajun spice, pickles, mayo) with "Sweet Potato Fries" as well as an order of "Cheese Curds" (served w/ house-made marinara). I was totally shocked when the food finally came to the table. When they say "giant chicken sandwiches", they mean GIANT! I could barely fit the sandwich into my mouth, but it was so delicious! The sweet potato fries were equally big and delicious, and the cheese curds were really good too! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Yummy Beers" (Double New England IPA), "Collusion" (New England IPA), and "Barrel-Aged Don't Go Romanov" (Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout). They were all surprisingly good! Limelight also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I'll definitely be back! I already have a ticket to another show!

It's a super cute brewery with games, inside and outdoor seating, an excellent wine list, great beers with beers to go from around the globe, matched with excellent service. We didn't try any of the food offerings which is mostly pizza and pretzels, but we really enjoyed our time. The bartender seemed to know everyone and was so helpful and friendly to us. The wine glasses are very nice. Go with complete confidence.

Before I worked there,…read moreOxford seemed a long way to go to try out yet another CT brewery (they weren't distributed back then, so you had to go there or be lucky enough to find it on tap somewhere) and they sounded very niche and weird. And they kinda are in the best way possible. Their selection of beers is pretty amazing in that you won't find 6 different IPAs, 2 fruity sours and a lager. Here you'll find Asian style lager, black lager, 3 different pils, 4 experimental sours, a traditional Berliner Weiss, an English Bitter, and that's just their own brews. They're also an importer and offer bottles from a variety of European and Asian brewers. Walking in transports you to a European beer hall with high ceilings and long wooden tables. There's also a nice deck out back to enjoy nature and a little game room overlooking the brewery floor. I've never tried the food so no comment there. I do intend to spend a lunch hour there one day when I have an easy afternoon ahead of me. The staff there is very friendly and super knowledgeable about the product. Great spot!
