Great local pizza option! It does have a small inside, but during the warmer months it looks like you can sit outside. I'm not sure what they added to their mozzarella cheese, but whatever it is gives it a pop and a delicious flavor. Also, it tasted like they added garlic salt to the crust and that was a fun surprise. Great size for a personal pizza, even some leftovers. Really neat restaurant and delicious food. read more

Came to check this place after raving reviews from a doctor I work with. He told me that the place is a bit pricey, but delicious. I agree, the prices for pizza are a bit high for the size of the pizza, but it is very tasty. I got the Jexica which has prosciutto, asparagus, mozzarella, arugula, and tomato. The crust is very good, everything works well together. We asked for some extra sauce to dip the crust in. The garlic sauce is delicious!!! Ask for some! No happy hours, but they have a decent selection of drinks. Great for watching a game with friends at the bar, or just to hang out to chat. Tried Pie Tana for the first time tonight and it was very good. I had the Uncle Collin, my wife had the Becky B, and my son had a pepperoni and ham. Loved the thin crust on the pizzas with just a little char on it from the pizza oven. Toppings were all good and pizza were served very hot out of the oven. Didn't expect too much here as the place is pretty small and also has a bar. Wow was I wrong. Pizza was outstanding. We got a cheese and a Marhgerita, both were excellent. Always on the hunt for the best pizza in Lexington and I would put PieTana pretty high on the list. Bonus points for having Rosemont Station's delicious beer collab with West Sixth on tap. This place is definitely dog & kid friendly and perfect for an afternoon day-date. We tried the Pizza Bones (add cheese), the Vinnie (a meat lover's dream), and the Collin (essentially a chicken, bacon, ranch; it used to be a special only, but it was so popular they added it to the menu). Everything was delicious and I plan to head back for the Becky B because of the goat cheese and corn relish combo. I love this little pizza place. They have such a good variety of pizza. My favorite one is the sir Francis with blue door smokehouse brisket and pickles, I thought it sounded weird but it's so good! A little pizza spot tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood. The Margurite was good, a little thick in the dough for my wood fired pizza style preference, but crisp and tasty. I for sure recommend the Margurite. PieTana lost me at the Create Your Own pizza. The ingredients we picked were fine enough, fresh and good quality, but I don't know what it was about the cheese... We just did the standard mozzarella option it came with, didn't ask extra cheese or anything, but I swear it came with a pound of cheese... Everything else was lost as a result. And I like cheese, I do, but it was way too much. Also, we added onions, but didn't know they'd be added raw after the rest of the pizza cooked. It was just weird Great potential though. read more

Very generic Gordon food service ingredients and frozen pizza dough. Overpriced for the quality of ingredients. If you want good pizza, I'd suggest Rolling Oven at least they make their pizza dough in house. Their sister bar, Rosemont does have delicious burgers and all day breakfast with more reasonable prices so can't go wrong with either of those. read more

After looking at the website and seeing all the awesome reviews, I visited this location very recently for the first time. The website made me feel like I was going to a high end pizza restaurant, and when I pulled up, the outside looked like some run down restaurant. I was disappointed from the get go. Going inside, I didn't expect a bar/restaurant mix. While I enjoy there being a bar, the design of the interior and layout of the restaurant gave me the impression it was a bar first, and food restaurant second instead of the reverse. This was the second red flag that made me more nervous. I ordered my food. And the major reason I am writing this review is what I got for what I paid for was a complete joke. It looked like they paid staff with no experience with food to make my meal. This is probably the most disappointed I've been with service in years, I felt like I was smacked in the face. This really surprised me because the picture of the meal from the website looked incredible. And after seeing all the positive reviews, I was at ease I'd at least enjoy the food. My friend's sweet mother was kind enough to pick me up some dinner and I went with the Uncle Collin pizza (chicken bacon ranch), with mushrooms added, and I requested the ranch drizzle to go on the side because I don't really care for ranch dressing. This pie did not disappoint! The flavors were really good, and I could tell it was made with quality, fresh ingredients. I expected a little more from the garlic cream sauce, flavor wise. It was rich and creamy, but wasn't as garlicky as I would've preferred. The crust was the kind that I like. Not too crispy thin, and a little chewy. I might've placed my order a little early because the garlic sauce had already started to thicken like a bechamel sauce would as it cools. I'm sure it would've been even better fresh out of the oven. I'd been hearing about The Pie Hole for quite some time through my neighborhood's Facebook site. What a cute place! Love the décor, love the bar seating, love the interesting pizza combinations, and I love the Piehole whiskey that comes around every time you hear the train (great way to incorporate the train into the ambiance of the restaurant!). We started with a plate of "pizza bones" - pizza dough with dipping sauces - then tried a Jolene pizza. The pizza crust was solid - chewy with a bit of crunch - and the toppings were fresh and tasty. With drinks, we were out the door under $30, which is what I would expect to pay for a meal like this. The selling point of this place, for me, is the place itself, and I look forward to riding my bike here in the spring and summer and sitting outside with a pizza, a book, and a cold beer :-) read more

Our closest local pizza spot--we love PieTana! their pizza is thin and is cooked in a brick oven. I usually order the margarita pizza that has fresh mozzarella, basil & tomato. They have a big bar in the restaurant so even if you're looking for a place to grab a drink with a few friends this is also a great spot. The salads are all really amazing too--I usually get a side salad with the pizza and for $4 it's a really good size! The house salad they chop up asparagus in small pieces to put in it & that's one of my favorite veggies! If you're in the Rosemont Garden area go to PieTana. read more

A friend recommended this place and now I would recommend it to everyone! I don't often venture out into the area where PieTana is located but it's so close to Nicholasville road so it's a pretty easy find. We did curbside pick up ordering a Becky B and Margurite Pizzas. I enjoyed Becky B because I love lots of toppings on my pizza. I don't love goat cheese so I substituted it for fresh mozzarella. Delicious! It comes with corn on it as well which I don't think is often a topping but I do recommend it. I'm not a fan of a lot of tomato sauce so the Margurite was just ok for me. I would suggest getting more than one pie for a family as their pizzas are on the smaller side. read more

Was skeptical pulling up to the small building on a kinda shady part of Lexington but found a true gem. This hole in the wall pizza restaurant offers amazing stone oven pizza at a good price. The sauce is light and airy, likely made in house. Reminded me of Italy. Will definitely stop back by if I'm ever in Lexington again!
