I finally tried this and it was good I had the meat trio; wings (5), brisket and the pull pork. Loved the sauce on the wings and I had enough to put on the brisket and pull pork I might've could've ask for more sauce I got a to-go order, and put some on a paper plate. The food They didn't have -Lemonade -Mac & Cheese -Boiled eggs I initially ordered a house salad with boiled egg and we ordered chicken sliders. The chicken sliders were great. The house salad not so much. The lettuce was brown. They also didn't tell me until they were out of boiled eggs until the salad was brought to the table. I ordered the beef brisket with potato salad & collards. He ordered ribs with baked beans & corn bread. The beef brisket was extremely moist, tender but not well seasoned. But still good with bbq sauce. The potato salad was more salad than potatoes almost tasted as if it was too much mayo & mustard mix in which you couldn't really taste any of the other ingredients such as the potatoes & eggs. The cornbread taste more like cake muffins with cornbread flavor. They are very fluffy like cake. But still pretty good. The baked beans were pretty good & the collards did well. So first of all, the food was absolutely incredible. I got a burnt end brisket sandwich and two sides of mac n cheese and greens. They loaded that thing DOWN. Like seriously, expect to get messy eating that thing. And it's D-Licious. Just phenomenally good. Service also very friendly. This is a great barbecue place with solid portions and delicious food! The peach cobbler was delicious with nostalgic hints of cinnamon, the fried catfish was good also but heavy with the breading, and the corn bread was a tad dry. It's hard to go wrong with mac n cheese, so that was delicious of course. The spare ribs were tender and had good sauce, overall definitely a win! The service is amazing as well, the interior is smaller and more intimate which would make this is a great date place if that's what you're looking for. read more

I was really excited to try this place, but a bit disappointed. I ordered for delivery, and they'd ran out of the ribs I chose. So I got brisket instead. By the time I got my food, everything was almost cold. The brisket was ok, lots of uncooked fat. The 1st cornbread muffin was good, but the second was hard and dry. The mac & cheese was good. On top of this, I'm not sure how uber eats interacts with restaurants. Unfortunately, I had to wait ~30mins until my driver arrived to pick up my food to learn they were out of ribs. The rest of my food was ready, but they had to make brie key to accommodate my order. The brisket did seem rushed. I'm not sure if that is all on Pig & Brew, but it did effect the flavor of the meal. I came here for lunch on a week day and it was pretty quiet all around. The restaurant is deceiving big from the outside with plenty of street parking all around. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated immediately. Our waitress was kind, helpful, and very efficient. We ordered the loaded fries and a loaded bowl which were both delicious. I ordered the brisket and that was pretty disappointing - it was just dry and tough. But luckily, our other two dishes were huge in portion sizes so I did not leave hungry! I had a friend visiting in town and decided to try some place new . I've had my eye on this place for awhile and was excited to use the excuse to check it out . You'll have to park on the street but we found parking in front of the restaurant. Jasmine was our waitress and very kind. She seated us right away & was friendly and attentive . My friend got the brisket sandwich with the side of cornbread ( gave us 2 ) and green beans . I got the smoked wings with OMG sauce, Mac and cheese , and green beans . The meat was so tender and full of flavor . My chicken wings pulled off the bone and the OMG sauce went really well with the wings . The Mac and cheese was delicious & a good portion. I like the green beans but it wasn't my fav and the cornbread is on the sweeter side . You can get the main entrees without a side or do a combo which is a couple dollars more . The cocktails fall on the sweater side but it was strong. You can also purchase hookah for your table they have several flavors and you can even mix it . The hookah was $25 which is on the higher side but lasted long. They don't use charcoal & it's electronic . I liked the hookah and would probably do it again. The energy at the pig and brew is like no other . I have to say it was a nice night out. My friend visiting also only had good things to say. A friend of mine had been to this restaurant, but the Farmville location and said it was pretty damn good. I guess he did some searching to see that this location was here so, we decided to give it a go. We showed up at about 6:15 on a Saturday evening and we're told there was a 30 to 40 minute wait. It didn't look like the restaurant was very busy at all but whatever. While we waited, we looked at menus, my buddy said the menu looked a little different than the one in Farmville, but said he could find something to eat he has restrictions it came time to be seated so, we were walked to our table. Noticing a lot of tables were sitting without food. We were greeted by our waitress Hoku. She had amazing energy and was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We ordered a few drinks and some wings for an appetizer when we ordered. We ordered extra blue cheese but when the wings arrived, it was nothing but ranch. To Hoku's defense, someone else brought out the wings. Hoku got us some blue cheese right away. When we went to order she informed us that basically everything that they served was no longer available. They were out of pork BBQ, ribs and Brisket. A court courtesy would've been to let us know while we were waiting. That's what we came in for and waited 40 mins for. At this point we're pretty hungry so we say we'll find something when the food came out. The food was cold and bland. The french fries were rubbery and extremely greasy like they had been sitting in grease all day. We asked for more fries which took quite a while, but they were 100% better. By that time we had finished our meal. I know new and even existing restaurants run out of things from time to time. But to run out of your main menu items at 6:45 on a Saturday afternoon is ridiculous. Also, at any point in time during our wait, you could've told us what you were out of and we would've gone somewhere else. Put a note on the door!! This was "absolutely the worst" BBQ experience I have ever had. My date and I ordered the three meat trio and two sides of collard greens with a piece of cornbread. To start "none" of the food came out "hot"!!! I don't know why, because the place was "not" busy at all!!! This is a small location but very friendly and attentive staff who are quite proud of this establishment. I was tired and hungry after a long day providing training and support in a sheet metal processing factory. Great tasting bbq sauce too and adequate portion size on the sides. The half sweet/unsweet tea was on point! You'll park on the street, parallel parking on Hull can be a challenge so practice up or look for a surface lot. The staff is friendly and professional. If you sit at the bar you have a choice of several HD TV's. I don't mind sitting at the bar but prefer to have a stool with a back. OK, so I'm no spring chicken. I ordered the bologna burger sans mustard and the appetizer wingettes (fried hard) with the omg sauce on the side. That bologna burger was amazing and it didn't need any other condiments and it was larger than I expected. The wings did not disappoint and I loveeeee fried chicken. The vibe was really good! I love the music the restaurant was very lively. The fried fish was fantastic. Seasoned very well! My boyfriend had the barbecue sandwich with Mac and cheese. I didn't care for the Mac and cheese but I really liked the fries I think they're handcut. The 13th Street Mule is also really good. My only complaint was as a pescatarian all the vegetables contain turkey which is not ideal. I tried to substitute a side salad and was not permitted to do so. Honestly recommending it to everyone I know lol They had so many other options besides pork, I had the smoked chicken wings & macaroni with the Alisha as my drink, one friend had the wings with potato salad & string beans & a Jack with Lemonade drink, the other had the bologna burger and fries w/ the P & B as her drink..we all cleared our plates because everything was so good. Ordered the Bo Johnson and hull street something(idr the exact name). They were both pretty tasty. I feel like 2-3 of these would get you right. Drinks came out quick and were aesthetically pleasing. The food also came out quickly. I went for ribs, Mac and cheese and fries. The ribs were a little small and a little dry. Their sauce has a bit of a kick to it, not my fav but not bad. My husband and I always try BBQ when traveling. This was our first time in Richmond and Pig & Brew is down the street, so we decided to give it a chance. We were not very impressed. The ribs were well cooked, but a little over seasoned (very peppery). The wings were tossed in the OMG sauce and they were good, but not mind blowing. I would pass on the Mac and cheese and try some other sides... the baked beans were our favorite part of the meal, but still nothing crazy special.
