This might have been one of my favorite stops on my weekend trip to the city. This is one of those places that I wish I could pick up and bring back with me to Buffalo. It's such a great space and the vibes/atmosphere in here is so fun. Service wise, they have a bar set up in the middle and then you order your food on a cafeteria line styled spot along the back. It makes it so easy and simple to get everything you need and pay at the cashier at the end of the line. I got the brisket and two sides. I settled on coleslaw, and then Mac & cheese for the second. The brisket was cooked perfectly. I added on some of their different bbq sauces and they all tasted great. I also loved both sides and really loved this meal in general. I even went back the next day when I had some downtime to grab a drink and watch some football at the bar. It's a fun spot with great food and a great vibe. What wasn't great was when I got to the meat cutting section the guy looks at me like a deer in head lights and says "what do you want" absolutely rude and the customer service was shit. When this place first opened it was family friendly. I was there 5/19 during a Knicks game. The place was overcrowded. No seats or tables available. They hired two securities. One was short and the other was tall. The tall one was harassing women who were sitting by the stairs. He said in case of an emergency people will run me over and then I'll sue pig beach lol! Understandable. My issue was he didn't have the same energy with the men who were also sitting right in front of me and next to me. He continued to harass two other girls for the same thing. As the night continued I noticed people smoking weed inside the establishment. I also noticed underage drinking. Upon entering, there is nobody checking IDs. At the bar, nobody checking IDs. There were kids everywhere including babies. It was a weed fest in there. What that tells me is that the business cares more about their safety rather than their customers. They have staff everywhere walking by and nobody said anything about the weed smoking inside the establishment. Never saw those security guards again. Pig beach needs to do better if they plan on staying in business. read more

We came here during the recent MLB playoffs, and the vibes were great! TVs were playing the game in every corner, and there was plenty of seating (both indoors and out). As for the BBQ - the brisket was underwhelming (quite dry), the ribs were just ok (a little tougher and harder to pull off the bone than I'd like) but the pulled pork and smoked turkey were delicious. I'm not typically a big turkey guy at BBQ shops, but the smoked turkey here was perfectly juicy and flavorful, and went great with any of their BBQ sauces. Will definitely be ordering more of that when I come back. The beers and cocktails were reasonably priced and pretty good as well, with a good amount of liquor. Overall, Pig Beach has great vibes and pretty solid food - would recommend it as a hangout spot (I think they have some board games you can use as well) or a place to watch games. read more

I am writing this review because the KNICKS are gonna win in 4 and everyone is searching for venues. This place is NOT it for a game. Or take my cheating notes and buckle up. We have been to this venue numerous times and it's usually above average but no serious complaint . I would never ever suggest this place for any game watching, avoid it if you are over 35 years old. No one gives a sh+t here. Do not ask friends/ dates/ girlfriends, your mother etc to meet you there. This review is about Game 1 knicks/ spurs. If you are over 35, or a person with common sense and respect lines- do not go. Absolute clusterfuck. We got on line at 5:45pm and the line was curved over to 35th ave already, by 6:15pm the line ended on 37th street. I looked at the line and said we would be in within 45 minutes, it had about 250 people, no big deal. They had a private event for a firehouse that day, so literally the door opened at 6:00pm. 7:00pm came and we did not even turn on to 36th street. I start watching wtf is going on, people line jumping (over 1000+ had to get ahead us!!, friends that start as a 2 ends up being like 16... which again whatever its nyc. But this place does nothing to help you along, ignore complaints (when were are ready to be admitted, literally people pull up in ubers and announce their friends are already inside or slip $20 into security's hand etc. ) so after standing online like a patient new yorker from 5:45pm till 8:11pm , charged $10 to get inside for standing place, stand online for bathrooms, for bars, food (food line 47 min) --- i give you the trick for next game! Cut line! Do not give a shit, because this place does not care and you do not get in trouble for it. Give an extra $20 into the security's hand, literaly just walk up confident (that's what everyone did, I would have even given $100, but I had no idea, or enter from the back door through 37th street, knock on the door, guy opens it, slip cash and you are in within a second...) Bring no bags, have comfortable shoes because the ground is not lit and not evenly paved, at all times keep exit signs in eyesight because this place is not safe in any way. Zero safety issues in place! If there was a fire, you are royally f+cked. By the way my nephew is 17, and they did not even card him, he was happy as a clam, had a couple of beers and scored a puff of a joint from fans next to us. The Knicks fans are amazing, the atmosphere is amazing; zero doubts. But Pig Beach cares zero for people's safety or any common sense, people were tripping over beer buckets on grounds (since no tables), garbage cans are upside down for drumming, people sitting and standing on stairs, but you do not see any of this because its dark as hell, people had busted lips and bloody noses (although i don't think they cared till today morning lol) - no path is lit. Another example, 2 people can put their coats and bags all over two tables (12 seats) to hold it, while you standing like an idiot with the tray of food in your hands, half is dropped on ground because someone else bumped you. It's a WILD WILD WEST there. If you must go, put one friend on line 3 hours prior to game or hire linesitters, eat before, order buckets of beers- 5 goes for $25- or go from the back door or pay security off. I would never stand in line for a bagel, greek yoghurt ect---- thiiiis place I felt my beliefs were embarrassed by the time I reached the entrance and saw the dishonesty that was going on. And before the venue offers apologies, they are fully aware; their own full time worker people/managers at the door also heard us. Never again! PS: bartenders and kitchen staff non stop apologized, and they were asking us what was going on, because they had never ending lines. They had zero idea about the lines and chaos outside. I really like this spot. I brought my family along and we sat in a covered yet open area of the restaurant. It's kind of a buffet style where you pick up your food and bring it to your table, but no frills, but the food is solid. The bar is in another area and they make their drinks quite well. Plenty of sports on the big screens so that's fun as well. We ordered our sides first and made our way down the line to the meats and finally the register to pay. Everything is already prepared and packaged (except the meats that they slice in front of you) so I was concerned about the quality and freshness. The Smoked Wings were surprisingly good! They were hot, tender, and fresh with good hot honey flavor. The Meat & Two is great for sharing. The brisket had some super tender and juicy parts but honestly, a majority of it was dry and needed some help from the various BBQ sauces they have available. Side note, they're all pretty good - I was a big fan of the tangy vinegar one! It cut through a lot of the fat and dense sides pretty well. The Cornbread was moist, soft, and delicious. I was surprised at how much I liked it and it didn't actually need the butter at all. You can't have BBQ without a beer and although I'm not a big beer drinker, the Kona Longboard Lager was recommended by the bartender since it's super light. The ribs were delicious, on par with the quality I was used to at the Gowanus location. I was impressed with the wings, fresh and smoky, a proper chew to them. On a rainy Saturday, Pig Beach was a wonderful place for our group of 30 to meet up. This family friendly space was accessible and pretty good. Food options range from $20-40 and serve as a pretty good meal. Saturdays have a great $1 wing special for smoked wings. The sugary honey rub wings are fantastic. I got 12 buffalo and 12 rub wings. The buffalo were good, but you can get that flavor anywhere and I would have done 18 and six if I had to do it again. The rub wings were unique, sweet and had a serious kick to them. They are worth visiting just to try. There are beer and liquor options at the bar, including pitchers and dispensers for larger group orders. There is unsweetened ice tea and soda as well as lemon and simple syrup for the tea if you want to add those things. Soda and tea are unlimited which is fantastic. The woman who was cleaning and busing the tables was wonderful. She was not in any way affected by spills and the hustle bustle. She politely came by and really kept things in order. She was pretty amazing in general. She actually came over with a bag for me to take my wings to go without me asking for it after I was done eating. This space has come a long way from studio square. Pig Beach is a great space if you're meeting a large group as the indoor and outdoor areas are HUGE and have ample seating. It's a nice vibe and there's plenty of bars, facilities, and water for self-serve. Main reason for the 3 stars is just that the food is not really that good and a bit overpriced. It's BBQ in NYC, though, so I guess we can't expect much. Things I've had include: Brisket - dry as heck. Nothing close to actual good brisket i.e. Texan brisket. Turkey - decent flavor, just a super small portion of a 1/4oz for $7.50. Mac and Cheese - a bit gluey, not terrible, but not great. Hot Sausage - tastes decent but also quite a small link in itself. Came here for the first time on a Saturday. Arrived at noon and everything was ready! We were welcomed immediately and asked if we needed help. You order like a cafeteria style system. Pick up a try and ask for different things along the line. Super easy and efficient! We ordered nearly one of everything. Total for everything pictured was around $80. On Saturday, they have $1 wings that are so delicious. We did not come for wings, but ended up deciding that we would always come back for the wings. It was that good. Smokey and saucy! I highly recommend their Mac and cheese. It's very cheesy and savory. The cornbread was so so moist! I can eat a whole sheet of cornbread. At the end of our meal, there are take away containers near the trash bins that you can take freely. I was able to pack enough for a light snack later. Incredible place for nearly every occasion. Pig Beach is just about perfect and the few flaws it has isn't worth docking it any stars. Whether you're looking for a chill place to enjoy a beer or wanna eat some great bbq or wanna watch the game, it's perfect. The food at Pig Beach is great a majority of the time. I can't say that it's been flawless every time, but for the most part, I always enjoy it. The brisket is great as are the sides. The organization is also well done to make sure people know what's available, how much it'll cost, and to keep the line moving. Food and drink lines are separate though, so just be aware of that. Napkins, sauces, and utensils can be procured, on the side, after paying. As for drinks, there are several bars located throughout the establishment. Water is also available at coolers at several locations. I've always found the staff to be extremely friendly and quick. I was super impressed when I attended a Knicks playoff game (nearly 4k people there) and they kept the line moving efficiently. Shoutout to James who took care of our group calmly and quickly during that insane time. It can get a little warm if you're in the sun and it can get crowded if there's a big game on, but for the most part, it's difficult to find anything wrong with Pig Beach. My friends and I stopped into Pig Beach last weekend. It was my first time there, and I was blown away by how big the space was and how well it was setup. There aren't any hosts/hostesses waiting to seat you. You just walk up to the counter for your food, the bar for your drink, and then grab a table when you're ready. My friend and I ended up getting the smoked turkey, dry rub and buffalo sauce wings, corn bread, and mac and cheese to share. Everything was amazing! We also ordered the Big Peach drink from the bar and it was delicious. We tried some of their Jell-O shots as well and they were PO-tent! I noticed staff walking around to make sure that everyone was comfortable and taken care of. They also sell smoked salmon dog treats for people to take home to their fur babies! Pig Beach is a great place to come in the warmer months for food and drinks. Their outdoor area has a ton of seating and large screens to display any sporting events that are happening. There is a large bar inside and outside to make getting served as easy as possible. They also have a ton of seating inside as well. The food is served cafeteria style in a fast-paced setting. Be prepared and know what you'd like before getting to the front of the line to avoid holding everyone up. The upside to this model is that service is fast! Other barbecue options typically are slower. Now, for the food. Their sides are delicious! The macaroni and cheese is moist, the collard greens are flavorful and the cornbread is buttery and sweet. The lamb shoulder is shredded and comes with a flavorful taztiki sauce and two pita. The brisket was good but it left a little to be desired. It was sliced thick and I personally prefer thinner slices. It also was a bit dry. I think you can find better barbecue in the city but this is a solid choice and I would come back. Came here with a small group and a dog for the World Cup finals and had a great time!! We arrived around 9am and the line was around the corner and on but it did move fast so it wasn't bad at all! Brisket was really good as well as their fries and hot dog - I would go with the brisket though.. it's fatty and not too salty. Bartender was great - bought a round of shots for 5 people and it came to around $50 something with tips so I guess it was a little under $10 for tequila shots. Crowd's great! I think this place used to be Studio Square but Pig Beach is wayyy better and much much better food/management. Great place for big sport events!! Also great for summer time beer garden. There was lovely backyard outdoor seating, but we couldn't take advantage of it since it was raining. The decor overall was cute and patriotic. I liked the art work depicting a pig on a hammock at the beach, and so on. The atmosphere was very chill and casual. The system of ordering was simple... You go up to the counter, order, and all the food is already there. After that, find a table to settle down and chow down! I decided to order the Sampler Platter, which included 1/4 rack of ribs, 1/4 pound of pulled pork shoulder, beef brisket, as well as smoked turkey. This cost a whopping $42 (with tax) and didn't even come with any sides. I kind of wanted fries, but not for an additional $7. I wasn't very impressed with the meal overall. Ribs are usually my favorite, but these ribs were not tender at all, but the barbecue flavor was decent. I also wasn't a fan of Smoked Turkey, which tasted very bland. I think my favorite was the Pulled Pork Shoulder. This was juicy, delightfully succulent, and well seasoned. The beef brisket was also good; cooked perfectly with slightly charred skin.
